Older building but very well kept. Food was super, hot and a lot of it. Would definitely recommend

This place is really good, especially the orange chicken when it's fresh. The noodles and crab rangoons are also amazing, and the portions are very generous! read more

Great food for a great price... I've been going to school in my pleasant for over 2 years now, and I regret not coming to this place sooner. Now I come here all the time. 5/5 stars for me. read more

This review is solely for the fact that I have never been able to find a better hot and sour soup than Dragon Express. I've lived in busy cities with amazing food options, and still nothing tops this hot and sour soup. I want it to be the last thing I eat on this earth. Any time I am near Mount Pleasant I make it a point to stop here for the most reasonably priced delicious quarts of hot and sour soup money can buy and typically bring at least 4 quarts home to freeze with me. Dragon Express, thank you so much for this gift you have given to the world read more

The food was great! However, I heard from a former employee that their employees only get cash tips. If you want to make sure that you tip the wonderful people at the register make sure you tip with cash! read more

It's a real bummer because I like the food but twice when I've gotten carry out they left out the sauce for sweet and sour chicken. When I let them know they didn't offer to compensate me for the mix up at all, even when I let them know I live across town and had already gotten home when I realized. Might have to start going somewhere else due to the service. read more

Good food and lots of food for the price. They also honor multiple coupons at a time. I eat here a lot, love it. The orange chicken is a must. I get the noodles instead of rice. read more

I love the food here when it's made right & fresh. Sadly the last two times I've bought of $15 of food i've had to throw it all away because it was old and tasted terrible :( read more

We ordered from DoorDash and wow ! The food was absolutely delicious and a huge portion (plenty left overs ) the dragon chicken was by far my favorite read more

Fuck ray, this place is amazing. Orange chicken was great as well as the egg roll. 10/10 would recommend read more

Really bad, paper plates, no service, carry out, not good.... hard to choose what you want to eat as it is not clear on the menu at all... Just don't waste your money...... read more

First time here, I got the orange chicken and fried rice. The chicken doesn't taste like chicken and had an off texture, like it was chewy and rubbery. The rice was okay, didn't have much of a taste though. Not sure about the rest of the menu but I definitely won't be getting the orange chicken again. read more

Kung pao chicken was acceptable. BAD springroll soaked in grease. They made a mistake with our order and then raised their voice at us. We've decided not to go back. read more

Orange chicken. Trust me. It's the Infinity Gauntlet of the Marvel Universe: Doesn't really look or function as you'd expect (read: not authentic Chinese food), but if you take it for what it is it'll change your reality. A staple of CMU and My. Pleasant. Does have some wonky hours for school holidays and vacations, so call/check ahead; but otherwise my stop when in town. read more

It's clean, tasty, and they give great portion sizes. Service is very nice. Lunch combo of getting free soup or egg roll is probably the best part of this place. They have a birthday discount too. Also, they have authentic Chinese dishes available. I'm not brave enough to try anything other than their orange chicken, dragon chicken, or beef broccoli, but I hear there other dishes are good! Also, I miss Kristina working there! read more

We tried this place for the first time. Our order was delivery. It arrived quickly and was hot, however this is some of the worst Chinese and Fusion we have ever had. Everything was bland. There was no flavor-only a slight soapy taste. We ordered 4 different items to try and after a few bites...it all got tossed in the garbage. It was tasteless and not eatable at all. We will not be returning. read more

I mostly always enjoy my visits to Dragon Express! I usually choose DE over any other Chinese food in town. read more

Dragon Express - I'm so full!!! Food was great!! - Chinese Near Me - Mount Pleasant, Michigan

I fell into the trap of having overinflated expectations for this place. The food was ok, but the prices and portions were awesome. I think that I spent around $5 and had enough food for 2 really filling meals. Dragon Express has a great reputation, probably because of the portions and price. The bare bones truth is that it's just a typical "fast food" Chinese place with somewhat greasy deep fried selections. If you're looking for a great deal, take a friend and split a combo. read more

Two good and big portions of food over rice (I preferred steam rice) for only about $7 ... and I really like the food. The hot & sour soup is especially good too. My family moved away from Mt. Pleasant and so now Dragon Express is a mandatory stopping place on return visits, just for old times sake. read more

If you are a drunk college student, this is the place for you. Massive quantities of unremarkable food at cheap prices. I was hoping for something tastier and would have either paid more or accepted smaller portions for such a prize, but then I am neither drunk nor a college student. I did choose a place within walking distance of dorms, so what was I expecting? If you are broke and and starving, this really would meet your needs. The furnishings and level of cleanliness also look like a place fit for a drunk college student. read more

Super friendly staff, very clean. Rangoons, while generously stuffed and perfectly crispy - filling was only cream cheese. No crab or green onions. Shrimp fried rice was perfect. Loaded with shrimp. read more

This place is always been a go to that is cheap and always delicious. The staff is always friendly and tend to get my order done as fast as they can. read more

Have been stopping here every time we are in Mount Pleasant for many years. Was my son's favorite when he was in college...stopped today and got a carry out. Sweet and sour chicken was mostly breading and certainly not as good as it used to be. Was so disappointed. I could hardly chew the chicken. Egg roll was also bland. so sad, this used to be so good. Also got 2 items and they used to fill it up so much and it was very sparse in size. Guess the tradition of stopping here is over, sadly. They were friendly at least. read more

Some of the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten /- flavorless and skimpy on the proteins. I've eaten next door on the CMU campus , and honestly their institutional Chinese food is better. I was also appalled to see one of the servers, during a slow point, pick food out of the steam table trays with a toothpick and eat it...without even changing the toothpick! Blergh. read more

For me, Dragon Express is a convenient, quick, and cheap meal. It's close to the Towers (south campus) and they don't close until ten. With 5-7 bucks you're able to get more than enough for you and maybe another person. The service is quick and they keep customer service problems to a minimum. The food isn't bad either. College student or not; if you are looking for quick, cheap, good Chinese: Dragon Express is your place. -TRQ read more

Food is cheaply priced, but delicioso. When you are scheduling your visit to Dragon though, make sure you schedule yourself some bathroom time immediately afterwards. read more

This place has decent Chinese food for a good price. Plus during the school year they're open late! Good place to go if you're on campus or the south side of town and crave large portions of Chinese food. They have a decent vegetarian tofu dish and the chicken szechuan is good. I try to stop here at least once when I'm in town to get take out. read more

Well this place gets the job done when you only have 5 bucks! Stick with the orange chicken, and the crab wontons. Fast service and big portions. read more

Dragon Express is my go to chinese takeout. They also have the best orange chicken and hot n sour soup in Mt. Pleasant.

Huge portions, which they will pare down if you ask for less. It's a typical quick-service Chinese restaurant, with tasty, but pretty generic Chinese food. We're not talking gourmet here, but if you're a hungry student on a budget, you could do worse. What to expect: 3-4 entree-type foods on the steam table, egg rolls, crab/cheese wontons, 2 soups. They do have a full menu and will cook-to-order anything you want, but it's faster to select from the items available on the steam table. They will PILE the rice into your (styrofoam) take-out tray, so if you don't want a bunch of rice, tell them to only give you half (or none). If you like egg-drop soup, try theirs -it's not your typical, made-from-a-mix egg-drop soup. (Might be made from a mix, but doesn't taste like it. You can almost taste the cardboard box the mix came in at some restaurants!) The egg-drop here is a rich broth, thick with egg, vegetables and - surprise - little cubes of tofu! Very tasty. A small cup of this soup is very filling and makes a great lunch on a cold day. Prices are incredibly low, the staff is always friendly and accommodating. If you have to find a place to study and use wi-fi, they'll let you sit there all day as long as you're buying food now and then. (I've done it when my home internet failed and I needed to work.) read more

The food isn't the top of the line but definitely is good! The food almost always fills me up! Get the orange chicken with fried rice and noodles read more

No he food is ok; The sweet and sour sauce tastes like ketchup but everything else is really good. The staff is very friendly and its a good place to get quick take out read more

The food quality has gone way down. Went there for lunch on a Friday. All of the food tasted like it was from the previous day and re-heated. Sweet & Sour Chicken that was cooked to a second death (no moisture at all), Crab Meat Cheese that there was no crab meat and very little cream cheese in and the won-ton wrappers were under-cooked. The orange chicken was over-sauced and WAY too sweet. Scratching this place off my go-to Chinese restaurants. read more

Pretty good, really big portions. Would rather order chicken and not shrimp next time. My boyfriend loved it.

Unclean, needs updates! Food is mediocre! Much better Chinese joints in town than this one! Avoid if possible!

I prefer to order food fresh rather than getting it from the premade steam table. I almost always get the seseme chicken or orange chicken.

A timeless Mount Pleasant classic, dragon express serves out huge portions for a reasonable price, portions which last me more than one meal. Thank god they serve everything in a to go container! Don't stray away from what you know is the tried and true choice for fast food Chinese, the orange chicken. Everything else I am a bit skeptical of, but the orange chicken is so good I don't ask questions. Decent hot sour soup. The fortune cookies however, don't even have real fortunes in them, just some stupid saying you could find on a buzzfeed list. 3 stars for the orange chicken alone, but if you're looking for anything besides that, look elsewhere. read more

Food is very yummy!!! Place looked clean. The prices were amazing and it's so close to the dorms which is nice as well

Buffet line operation. Ordered orange chicken as little else was ready. We came at 3:15. Our dish had little orange flavor and tasted like Chinese food made by Americans. My fried rice lacked any ingredients except rice. Very dry and bland. Stop only if you are desperate. read more

This place is cheap and delicious! Sure it is greasy but who is trying to be super healthy. This place got me through college.
