Their food was good, and their lo mein and coconut chicken have always been my favorites! However, I wish this restaurant had better service and was cleaner. I don't feel comfortable eating here because it's so dirty, and I'm afraid of getting sick. read more

I picked up an order of chicken fried rice that was terrible. The rice had a floral, almost perfumed smell & taste. I've enjoyed jasmine rice at many restaurants but this was overpowering the dish, in an unpleasant way. I'll keep looking for a better Chinese restaurant that preserves the classic flavors I've enjoyed in the other 7or 8 states where I've ordered similar food and been very pleased with the results! read more

Very poor customer service I ordered a Coconut Shrimp take out and 5 of the shrimps were spoiled and they refused to refund my whole $14.00. Very rude customer service and I would not recommend the restaurant to anyone. read more

Before we were seated our waitress was asking for what to drink. We usually shy away from Buffets but one of our guests recommended it. I am glad we did, I had mostly shrimp items including shrimp with broccoli. They had beef and chicken entrees also. The egg rolls were about the best I have had for flavor. Desserts were mostly fresh fruit but pudding and soft serve ice cream were available. The waiter and waitress kept our drinks full. Decor was a little outdated but we did not mind because the food made up for ambiance. I used the Men's bathroom and it was clean and fine to use. Next time we are in Mt. Pleasant we will go back. read more

I decided to go there with my dearest friend, Joanna. The food was rather scrumptious and our server was polite and kind, but the front desk lady was possibly one of the rudest people I've encountered at a restaurant. (And trust me! Ive been to many! LOL ) the moment we walked in she greeted us with a harsh tone. When we got up to pay she was again rude, speaking harshly, rushing us, and slamming the plastic receipt holders violently down onto the counter. Joanna nearly jumped! By the time we got to my car to leave my experience (as well as Joanna's) had been tarnished. I also believed she took around 3 extra dollars off my card as there was originally 20$ on the card and my total should have left me with 2.88. I was given no receipts to check my suspicion. Safe to say me and joanna will be getting mexican next time! read more

Love their food wish they would open one in Clare mi we go their 2 times a month just wish it were closer

Food was good but very deceiving when you walk in the bathroom. Bathroom floor is wet, mold on the sink, press on nail on the floor of girls bathroom. Service could be better but oh well. Lots of msg in the food, get full fast. If that's what you're looking for go for it but if not find somewhere else. read more

Tasty Buffet entrees, cooked to perfection, at incredibly affordable prices. I've been there at all different hours of the day and night, and the food is always fresh and the restaurant is always clean. They always whisk the plates, that you've finished with, away quickly. The wait staff are so friendly, and they just dote over you, and make you feel special. Greet selection, great taste and great service. The best. read more

Dirty and unmaintained restaurants. Bathroom is cold and dirty. Staff shout orders to other staff across the room.

The food was good! Service was okay. But I got food poisoning... I went because that was where my bf and I had our first date, and didn't get food poisoning the first time. But this time I definitely did. I'm not sure from what... the only thing I had different from him was the general chicken and veggies. read more

I absolutely love this place. The food is delicious and has a great variety. I would personally pick going here over a fancy restaurant 100%. You definitely get your moneys worth and can fill up on good food with fast service. read more

Chinese Restaurant Great Wall Buffet - Buffet - Chinese Near Me - Mount Pleasant, Michigan

The food was alright. I judge a Chinese place based on their crab rangoons and these ones were sub-par. Crispy but not enough filling. The pepper chicken was my favorite, but everything was over-sauced. They do make sure everything is filled and decently fresh, so that was good. Honestly the stars I gave are for the service, they are super fast and clear your plates and refill drinks like a son of a gun. Not very friendly though, they obviously just want butts in seats. Nothing special about the decor, but there is plenty of seating. Take it or leave it kind of place. I've had better. read more

I have to say...I have been for lunch(dinner hour starts at 4 here)...I have been for dinner hour.I am not KEEN on Chinese buffets, but this place was recommended to me.We love it! Everything is ALWAYS fresh, steaming hot.Their dinner hour has frog legs to DIE for! along with 3 variations of shrimp.I like that their fried shrimp in not camoflouged with a heavy batter.Lots of selection, pricing is VERY VERY fair.Constantly refreshing the dishes. They "do not let the serving pans hit near bottom like most buffets. The staff is VERY curious, and constantly "cleaning".Its a go to place for us at least once a month.Affordable for a family with teens, college students, seniors, and children. They do have options besides chines food on there many buffet choices.A wonderful fruit bar for dessert, and treats. Something for everyone.Even a 3 choice ice cream soft serve area. Their crab Ragoons ARE done right, lots of tasty crab filling and never over fried. They have two soup choice...hot & sour(very good) and ehh drop (could be improved). But I add a bit of the "hot & sour to my egg drop, and it gives it "more depth...I am pretty fussy about my egg drop. All in all...Across the road is the new Chinese restaurant with the "Award winning chef", but so is their "pricing".I like this place as EVERYTHING is very good, fresh...dinner is only 12.99 starting at 4pm.I believe lunch is 2 dollars "less"...but you "don't get the delicious frog legs or 3 kinds of shrimp...All their dishes are very good...the staff is AMAZING and willing to accommodate you should you ask for anything. read more

The food was fair at best and we got there 10 minutes after the restaurant opened for the day. Disappointed.

One of the BEST Chinese buffets around! Clean, food is always fresh, well seasoned...Good pricing. At 4 pm they change to dinner hour and for 12.95(under 13.00 for adults, kids over 10) They ADD more selections.Like frog legs, deep fried wings, etc.The staff is always sanitizing, r.And if they is "a little left in the pan, they "take it away and bring in a FRESH hot pan"...no "dumping on top of the old stuff here.I was impressed!we don't go out to eat much as we are seniors and this place is "not only tasty food, but affordable enough to take your family.Lunch goes till 4pm, and its only $9.99 a person.Children under 5 are cheaper. Nice staff! read more

NEVER COME HERE. one night, before Christmas mind you, my boyfriend dropped his wallet in the parking lot. We almost immediately realized and when we went back it was gone. The only people there were the workers. They were staring at us the entire time we were eating. Horrible customer service. I've had multiple bad experiences and they've lost my business and plenty of people I know's business read more

Excellent buffet. Everything was hot and filled. They had an excellent variety. The hot and sour soup is the best around. The coconut chicken was delicious. The lunch prices are cheap. Best Chinese in town. read more

Used to visit often, but my last visit caused 1 day in the bathroom. Rating: 2 star Food: Okay Bathroom time after: a long time read more

We had lunch here today. What I had was good and there was a nice variety of things to choose from. They weren't busy so it was a nice quiet atmosphere. My issue is every time I came here the floor around the buffet that isn't carpet is slippery. At first I thought maybe someone had dropped something but this is an every time thing. Today I almost slipped in an area that wasn't even within dropping distance of any of the food. read more

Food was good. Pepper beef was really good. Floor around the buffet was slippery to the point I don't think I'd come back. Service was excellent and friendly. read more

Typically I don't do buffets, but this was highly recommended and did not disappoint! Every entree was fresh and delicious as if prepared family style rather than a buffet. The attentive staff cleared plates timely and offered refills before our glasses were empty. I can't wait to go back since I didn't get to try everything before filling up. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I've never had a bad experience there, and I've been going once or twice a month for about 3 yrs now. They have a great variety of food, keep it stocked and hot. Very tasty. The staff is standoffish, yes, but professional. If you like Asian-American food -- and want a choice of what to eat ( buffet ) -- this is definitely the place to go. They even have a few non-Asian items ( garlic bread, onion rings, etc ), as well. I recommend General Tso's chicken, the Sesame Chicken, and Crab Rangoons. Yum, Yum, and Yum. Also good's the egg drop soup, sweet-n-sour chicken, shrimp, rice, egg rolls ... ... hmm ... ... now, I'm hungry. I wonder, where I'll go to eat ... ;-) read more

As the name suggests it's a buffet. When you walk in you are greeted to a gum ball machine and a good atmosphere. Then you are placed at a table or booth. You then order a drink and are free to wander the buffet full of fresh and amazing food. Once your done they have a soft serve ice cream machine and as Chinese restaurant tradition goes you get a fortune cookie. Then you pay and leave. read more

This is my favourite Chinese buffet in Mt Pleasant. Great selection at a great price. I love all of the choices that you get at a all you can eat buffet. I love sampling everything, something that you don't get at a formal sit down Chinese restaurant. read more

We still eat here every once in a while, still have never gotten sick or anything like that. The staff hasn't been shouting in Chinese to each other across the dining room as much in recent visits, so they may have gotten that under control. During the winter this place is always steamed up like a sauna because of the buffet steam tables and improper ventilation of the building. I personally am sort of grossed out that it is so "moist" in there, simply because it is abnormally warm and damp in there during the winter. The food is usually good, lunch prices are borderline fair, dinner pricing seems expensive for what it is. read more

The food here is good and fresh. Lots of selection and soft serve ice cream and cones for dessert. I would give them 5 stars except the employees don't dress professionally, walk around talking on their cell phone on speaker, and can be rude. Also, my friend asked for no MSG because she gets migraines from it, and was told "No MSG," but she got a migraine, anyway. read more

Stay away!!!! I didn't even want to touch the food. I only trusted maybe 2-3 pans that looked fresh (coconut chicken, beef and broccoli, and shrimp and veggies). The rest I steered away from at all costs. I didn't even want to go check out their dessert area. The building and decor is old and dated. Yuck! read more

Personal experience is from dining at the restaurant over the course of 16 years. As far as the other reviews are concerned I've never observed anything really negative with this restaurant. Like with any other restaurants there are times the food dishes will get low but the staff monitor them and refill them in a timely fashion. During my time dining at the Great Wall the food has honestly always been good and I have no complaints against the business worth noting in regards to that. If I opt for the to-go order the staff from the kitchen always inform me when new food is coming out. The price ranges from $7 to $9.65 which has been fair for me to pay. read more

Somedays you're just having those weird cravings, right? I always have cravings for chinese food, but I don't want to pay so much for take out for just one meal, so I go to Great Wall. They have such a huge selection, and although the restaurant can be a little messy at times, it's still a restaurant I enjoy! The service is very good though! read more

Okay this place is dirty. I brushed up against one of the plants on the booth and it got my coat all dusty! The food was so-so, but I just felt like it wasn't prepared in a clean way because the dining area is gross. read more

Decent food. Buffet food is good, good variety. Decently priced. Good selection of food on the menu. Can order takeout. Staff is ok, but could be a little more pleasant. read more

Drove 80 miles to meet with friends for dinner. One person in my party was unable to eat because of their lack of "refreshing" or "replenishing" food items. Waited over an hour for wings and mozz sticks. When brought to the managers attention, he said it is coming. Asked for a discount as she was not able to eat, he said, "not welcome here, don't come back". Finally refunded the meal, but not the tax and told us to get out. read more

The food was ok but the restaurant was noticeably dirty and the employees yelled across the restaurant to one another during the majority of the time we were there. read more

Just horrible. Staff was rude, food was cold on the buffet and there was barely anything on there i.e. they never refilled a single pan when we were there. Suffered 30 minutes there trying to make the best of it, and finally left. Went to another restaurant because we barely ate anything. Not one person came over to check on us, ask the food was or anything like that. Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Very dirty and dingy inside. read more

Seriously, do NOT ask them any questions...they will flip out on you. I asked the hostess about the difference in pricing regarding children's meals and she got right up in my face and raised her voice. Then two other men came up and they all were talking loudly at once and everyone of them got in my face. I put my hands up and told them firmly not to yell in my face. I had to repeat this request more than once. It's not like I wasn't going to pay; I just wanted to know why the difference in price. I will never go back there again. First, I don't think it is very appropriate for any employees to yell in a customer's face and second, it is NEVER okay for an employee to yell at a customer in front of two small children. The food is mediocre at best so I won't be missing much by not returning. read more

Not a large variety of food. Crab Ragoons were cold and very old. And on top of this there was nothing but fruit on the desert bar, which was very disappointing especially considering it was my birthday! Will not be returning here anytime soon. read more

I have eaten here a couple of times but not in about three years. My wife and I stopped in on our way thru the area. The place is a dive. There is about a quarter of an inch of dust on top of the buffet sneeze shields. The food was cold and tough. The he service is awful too. I will never come back here to eat. Suggest you stay away. read more
