Can't even give a star, without writing a review. They seriously need to shut this place down. If you are for the money instead of serving the best quality food for the customers; please close down! The white rice smell so bad- as if it was there for weeks. Fried rice was hard and dry. The meat was nothing but bread and hard. The inside of the dumplings was so black; it may have been sitting there for days that' the dumpling was serve. Barely ate and cost us $60 for 3 people. Please do yourself a favor and close down. The food was disgusting. Looked like it had been sitting there all day. I wanted to give this place a chance because we're new to mount pleasant. But we were sitting there, trying to eat this nasty meal and the cook comes out with a white better on. He was reaching across the food with all of his armpit hair exposed over the food!!! It was disgusting!!! We didn't even finish our first plate! And it was $50 for 3 people!!! Do not come here. It's the most erie place I've ever been too and just gross. Very good typical Chinese buffet. They also have a Mongolian grill that comes with the meal. I picked my ingredients and they grill it up. It was good. The price was very reasonable. With tax $6.25 Waiter was good and fast. On the down side I would of liked them to have more stump dishes. read more

No stars. Went for dinner and what was out was left from lunch. Vegetables wilty from the heat, noodles and rice dry. The chef came out with some fresh food and just mixed it in with the old. Ice cream has been melted and refrozen, some has so much freezer ice on top it must be months and months old. Mongolian grill was not being used. Soup was old and covered in skin. Honestly, this isn't good a place to eat. Food was dry, overdone, crab was wet as heck, lukewarm food. I kept getting looks from the waiter because my son was coughing. My boyfriend was serving himself his plate at the buffet and was getting rude looks from our waiter and talking to her other co-workers about us. I felt so uncomfortable eating there. Possibly the worst Chinese buffet experience I have ever had. The food was lukewarm and bland. The sesame chicken and General Tso looked and tasted the same (gross). The fried rice was dry and was likely bought frozen. The egg drop soup almost made me get sick. The bright spot was the waiter who was fast and curteous. Do yourself a favor. Was looking for a Chinese buffet in Mount P, and saw this driving by. Usually I check reviews on yelp first, but was hungry and figured it's a Chinese buffet it won't be great, but it probably is edible. I was wrong. Even though I got there 10min after they opened on a Saturday morning, nothing was fresh. The soup tasted like it had been re-heated multiple times, and the meats on the buffet line were lukewarm at best. It's a little concerning that none of their food was anywhere close to proper serving temperature when sitting on the buffet. Do yourself a favor and get McDonalds across the street before you eat here. read more

This review is for China 1 Buffet aka Jan's Buffet Inc. FOOD WAS HORRIBLE - AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!! Went for dinner on a Friday nowhere near closing time and a lot of items were missing. What was there was crusty, gross and unappealing to say the least. No attention was being paid to the actual buffet area - no items were being filled, no cleanup was happening. Went to the buffet to attempt to find something edible twice and noticed the same cheesy spinach mess on the counter which was probably sitting there all day. The hibachi grill was supposed to be operating all day but no one was manning the station. The uncooked items were still sitting out and looked very dried and crusty just like the cooked buffet items did. Paid $19.00 for two people, tried to complain to the manager but got the whole "I don't understand / I don't speak English" act. Worst Chinese food experience I've had in a long time. Definitely will not be coming back here. Save yourself the agony. EDIT: It's been a few hours later, and both of us are feeling sick to our stomachs. We have always eaten at The Great Wall in Mt. Pleasant MI but thought we would try China One Buffet. It was the worst Chinese food we have ever tasted. Went there today 2017 at around 3:30pm and the food was cold or just warm, or not enough of and I cannot stress enough how bad it tasted!!!:( Even their American food tasted nasty. There was four of us that ate there and all said the same. Even the booth next to us was disappointed. The lady could not even eat one plate it was so bad. Never again!!! We'll go back to The Great Wall, where we know the food is good!!! read more

Horrible Food! Lukewarm at best, very old tasting. Just a small amount of food in each container, so we had to split what there was. We were there about 6. Wait staff basically ignored us after initial serving of drinks, but I hear one of them yelling at another. There seems to be a problem with the men's room, water all over the floor. (They say you can tell the cleanliness of the kitchen by looking in the restrooms.) This place cured us wanting Chinese Food for awhile! A waste of money at over $10 each. read more
