Let me start with the fact that I come from California where there are thousands of Chinese restaurants to choose from, due to the immense Chinese population there. So, sadly, I can't give Dragon Express top reviews. Since moving here 8 months ago, I've been on the search for a good, even decent, Chinese Restaurant and I have yet to find one. Mind you, I haven't done much searching in the greater Nashville area, yet. I've only been looking north of Hendersonville and Goodlettsville because that's as far as I'm willing to drive for for takeout :) This was a Take-Out order. I ordered some pretty "can't go wrong" dishes, like Sweet n Sour Pork, Chow mein, Black Pepper Beef and Pork Fried Rice. Sadly, only the Sweet n Sour Pork was decent, meaning it was not mostly batter. The fried rice was okay, but then again, you can't mess up rice and soy sauce. My go to dish at any Chinese place is Chow Mein & this was not very good. It was more like Lo Mein noodles with oyster sauce. That authentic flavor was not there. Even my 82yo laid back chinese-food-loving mom says, "this isn't very good." That made me laugh, since she's not very picky. I still gave it 3 stars, coz if you don't like ordering from a conglomerate, like Panda Express down the block from here, you can still come and get a decent Sweet n Sour Pork with fried rice combo and be content. My dad always said to me, "Taste the food first before you say you don't like it" So, Dad, I tasted it & I don't like it At least, I can check this place off the list now. Ordered some chicken fried rice. Went to pick it up and live 30 minutes away. I trust that the chicken fried rice was in there. Got home, and it was shrimp fried rice and called back, and she said unless I could come back tonight there's nothing that could be done. Really would not be worth the gas money to go back. Wanted to see if I could come back the next day, but she couldn't do it. Also, I'm allergic to shrimp, which makes it worse. I can't even eat it. read more

Unfortunately the food was not good. It tasted very off and the flavor was just not there. Maybe it's because I'm used to NY Chinese Food, (I moved to TN recently) but this had to be the worst I've ever had. Ordered bourbon chicken and fried rice. Chicken was very dry and tough. There was some kind of crumbly looking stuff in with chicken. Was not appealing. Fried rice was also dry and no flavor. Just got off the phone with the super rude woman at Dragon Express. Thought it would be fun to not cook & pick up Chinese. My husband arrived home and I had the plates out on the counter to dish up each persons food. Got to the sweet & sour shrimp and it wasn't there. Everything he got was out on the kitchen counter. In the boxes. I'm starring at it. Call Dragon Express, she insists it's here in a white styrofoam container. Nope not here. Issue me a credit. She goes on and on, now she's talking to the cook. He agreed. I got no shrimp. I can come & get it. NO!! I'm not driving back. Issue me a credit. Now she decides I got a double order of sweet & sour chicken in the one box (not true). Ordered through Grubhub to be delivered to work for me today. Delivery was quick so I know they made my order fast. I ordered crab rangoon, boneless spare rib and egg drop soup. The crab rangoon was good. The sauce they give with it was sufficient for the 6 rangoons you get. I honestly haven't eaten the soup yet. It's in my fridge for tomorrow. The problem I had was with the boneless spare rib. The meat was very chewy and the pieces were much larger than I am used to getting from take away Chinese. I also thought the ribs had a bit of a smell when opening the container. I only ate 3 bites and threw the rest away. I was only working in Gallatin for the day, but I don't think I'd order again if given the choice. There's so many other takeaway options in Gallatin. read more

Always great service and wonderful Chinese food! For those complaining of no flavor, they must be used to the super salty and greasy food from the chain restaurants such as Panda Express. The food is always great when I get it, and never lacking in flavor (and it's never overly salty.) Personal favorites include shrimp with mixed veggies, Moo goo Gai pan and the beef and broccoli. I also really like the seafood soup and steamed dumplings, if I want something more mild. Also, the owner is very kind and always so helpful-- I really appreciate her upbeat attitude! Great authentic Chinese Made there, fresh, and with care. Service is great, it can be slow when they are busy but it is definitely worth the wait. I've eaten their dishes for well over 20 years and have found many more options that were not near as good and most of the time were more expensive. I just left dragon express Chinese food at 693 Nashville Pike Gallatin Tennessee. The lady at the counter was extremely rude in the state I came from Chow Main was noodles so when I didn't understand the difference from Chow Main n L Main she verbally I explained it but I'm still not understanding, I pointed to the noodles in the case were all the food pre made looked dried out and old she said" yes that's Lo Main, I to yo 3 times". My spelling on your comment is not my error it is the way she spoke she was very rude, sorry I didn't understand the 1st time she told me and I was a visual person that asked about the noodles in the case along with all the other dried out food in the case. Really liked this place. I love that they offer kids meals because my kids could not agree on an entree to split. We ordered chicken on a stick with veggie lo mein for one (nice portion) and sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice (smaller portion). The kids loved it. I got moo goo gai pan (broth-y with an excellent flavor) and hot and sour soup (just the right heat level). My husband ordered Chin Pe beef and he liked it (though the orange peel slices were sometimes mistaken for beef they did add depth). Also, my husband doesn't like most egg rolls and he loved these (beef and vegetable). Food was fresh and well prepared. I also like that most entrees have several size options. Have ordered carry out 5+ times from this location, and the quality is always very good. Their family dinners for 3-5 people are a good value. Beef with Broccoli and Hunan Chicken are favorites in our family of picky eaters. Egg rolls / spring rolls / crab Rangoon appetizers are also really good. read more

I cannot express my disgust in this deplorable establishment. I've worked customer service and have a high tolerance for mistakes. The first two times went I went it was a family take out dinner and spent well over $50. The order was wrong, giving me an entirely different meal, but i didn't want to be a jerk and interrupt the family meal. The 3rd experience was awful. I ordered hot& sour soup. THE ORDER WAS WRONG. I didn't pick it up, but I was near the neighborhood today and wanted to give her the negative feedback. but I and the owner CALLED ME A LIAR. I'm never going there. After I told this to a neighboring business I was told that roaches and other vermits are not uncommon. I'm fuming because I told her I don't want anything from her (money back or free food). All I wanted her to know was how to improve her business to just a shoddy one star level. Obviously that will not be done. I cannot express how much money you'll waste if you go there. I had lunch there yesterday. The food was excellent. I was really impressed and believe me Im picky. They had a buffet set up but, I do not eat buffets, I always order off the menu. Shrimp Fried Rice was awesome. Egg Rolls were excellent, and the sweet and sour shrimp was very good too!
