You know, you win some and you lose some when you're eating out and today was a loss. Our favorite Chinese restaurant was closed on a Tuesday so we were exploring other options and we decided to give this place a try. It was pretty quiet inside with only a few tables filled so we were sat immediately and the service was good throughout the meal. Unfortunately there wasn't much to be excited about after this meal. The food was bad, plain and simple. Half of the dishes were cold and bland and just not tasty. The best thing were the vegetables and they seemed to be the hottest food on the buffet, but the meat was not up to temp and it was clear that it had been sitting out a while. We were excited about having some ice cream after the meal, but we decided against it after another customer ducked underneath the sneeze guard to put her whole arm into one of the ice cream tubs. The fruit was decent, but it wasn't enough to save this meal. It also didn't help that several of us had upset stomachs after the meal, which is something that never happens to us after Chinese. This was the worst Chinese meal I've ever eaten! We went there for lunch this past Thurs right after they opened. Instead of the food being nice & fresh it was obvious from the taste of every thing I selected off the buffet that it was all warmed over food! I was going to overlook it & never go back but the restaurant had the nerve to change my tip amount! The meal was so awful I felt like not even leaving one at all! The service was absolutely atrocious, I've never been treated so badly after politely asking for a refill. The waitress slammed our cups on the table and either ignored us or was just down right unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. The food is mediocre but it's a buffet so you get what you're expecting. If I could give them no stars I would because I've been here with just my white side of the family before and never been treated like this but I bring my mixed sister with me and suddenly we're treated like dirt and rushed in the hopes we'll leave! When I arrived, I am immediately seated and the host alerts the waitress for coffee. They are so friendly, I can't seem to NOT stop in every week. Picked up a warm plate and set off to select my favorites at this buffet. Every so often, there is something different. My friendly waitress pointed out the squid last week. Looking once again at the sushi bar, the friendly Host explained the safety of the sushi selections. Hesitant to try some, the host and the waitress both filled my plate with a fun assortment and said to just try them! Next, I was introduced to the sushi maker, smiling as she approached me to say hello. How much nicer is this? For my second plate, I never pass up the peel and eat shrimp. I was pretty shocked by how I was treated. I've eaten here a few times before but this time was different. The server was very short with my party. As a seasoned Chinese Buffet veteran, theres a rule you should always follow when checking the rating for the restaurant. That rule is "Anything below a 3 stars is not good, everything above a 4.5 stars is fake" And with this place being 3.5 stars at the time of eating here, it was on the lower end but hey, in a small town like Gallatin, options are pretty limited. First impression walking: quaint, busy, and an amazing aroma. It was busy but they had a lot of tables. Boy 'o boy were was I in for a pleasant surprise. The food was fresh and it looks like the employees were constantly checking and keeping up with the quantity and quality. Our server kept our drinks full and never let the plates stack up more than 4 high. It was such a great experience, definitely a hidden Gem in this small town. Every single dish was properly seasoned, never ate anything that was too old and the quality was on point (as far as Chinese Buffets go). For the quality and price that you pay, you wont find anything close to this around the area. Even though its a buffet style, majority if their food beats out most cook to order Chinese food in the area. Absolutely awful service and no respect to customer. The waitress laughed with her worker pointing at my receipt when I couldn't tip that much. She practically ushered us out, taking our drinks before we were finished. When we left, we had my friends car hood open because it was smoking a bit. We were there for like 20 minutes after they closed doing stuff to it. When that lady and her friend walked out and passed us, she stood right next to my friend, pointed at the car and laughed to her friend. Overall just very disrespectful. read more

Wow. I should of read the reviews and took the advice. This was honestly some of the worst Chinese food I have had in a long time. All of the food had a funny taste. This place is absolutely disgusting. The buffet is not kept clean and the items are allowed to dry out. If you like chicken nuggets soaking in sugar sauce you might like it but the overall quality is awful. The service is okay and my server did provide drink refills on a regular basis. With tax and tip, my bill was $17. I don't know why they bother preparing "sushi" rolls as they don't have any fish selections; only fake crab and rice rolls. Have been here a few times in the past but decided to try it again last week. Food was not as good and it seamed not as clean as a few years back. I love sushi but didn't try it because it looked like it was perpetrated earlier in the day and had set around. Positives were the egg drop soup was outstanding. And I really liked the spicy chicken. China Buffet is just as standard as it's name. There is hardly anything special about it, except that it's there when you are in the mood to gorge on some standard Chinese food. I will say, some days the buffet is fresher than others, and they have a pretty good selection. They also have sushi and hand dipped ice cream. I've never eaten the salad bar (who has room for a salad when you have all that baked imitation crab and rangoons?) but it always looks decent. This was my husbands idea and therefore, I will forever blame him for his choice...I tried to talk him it out of it but he told me to "live a little." Man, he's regretting those words. We don't drink soda, but we needed it to remove the taste of the food. Went into yesterday.. service is scarce. I ordered a friend got buffet and I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce, Fail!! Looked like soup was not very appetizing. An amazing amount of choices, mostly chicken on the buffet and a nice selection of sushi made fresh. Lots of customers and the trays were refilled quickly. Friendly staff cleared plates quickly and refilled drinks timely. Clean bathrooms. Dessert choices include serve yourself ice cream. read more

Please do not go to this restaurant. Tonight was our first and last time! I observed an employee working behind the sushi counter without gloves, filling a plastic container. The employee then used her fingers to wipe the excess liquid around the container and placed the liquid back into the container! The employee also peeled a few oranges without gloves on. As we were leaving I complained to the gentleman behind the counter. It was so disgusting. The man behind was also rude when my husband was paying the bill. He threw the receipt at him! Ok.. I honestly cannot get too excited by food that is cooked in a kitchen and dished out on a buffet where little snot nosed children run around grabbing everything in sight. Thankfully, for the most part with my visit the children running amuck was not true. Yes, everything is served on a buffet, but this buffet had more than the average strip mall Chinese joint... LOTS more actually, including sushi which was actually pretty good.. Salads, entrees, desserts... all were plentiful to choose from and was fresh, not overcooked. Juliet for 'Koi', this is where I go. This is a pretty typical Chinese Buffet, if a little smaller than some of the others in middle TN. They have all the typical dishes you expect to see set out. They also have a sushi bar, although the sushi here is very mediocre. I can't quite put my finger on it...there is a huge amount of rice, without flavor, and small portions of anything else, I guess. I've never gotten sick or even had that 24 hour later sign of trouble. The staff is helpful and always surprised if you tip. They seat you quickly and are very regular to refill water. The other patrons are interesting, if you're into people watching. There are several flat screen TVs in the place, usually turned to a sporting event. Parking is easy and the place is convenient. At the beginning we was doing good sitting us down but then we went to grab a plate and they was bugging us , and we felt so pressured we couldn't eat in peace , then when we was getting our second plate and they came with the check instead of giving us more time , then one of the lady saw I was paying and she didn't get out of our way because we didn't give her a tip , she stood right there in till we gave her a so called " tip" and then the other st*pid lady touch my sister husband in the shoulder like rubbing it and made him feel very uncomfortable he can't even stop talking about how uncomfortable they made him and us feel . In matter of fact they have hair on one of the food's made me wanna vomit , also the food was cold , not ready and it was just disgusting. What made me more mad that they made people stand far away from there credit card to make them pay , why ? I don't know but that real dumb you know . Was really craving some Chinese food so decided to try this place out. It is definitely a hole in the wall. The sushi was actually pretty good and the woman making it was so cute since she was humming the entire time while making it. Was slightly busy, but was seated quickly. The noodles were cold and rubbery, the sushi was warm. The buffet had flies. The two of us getting food poisoning was not the worst part, however. The waiter walked away from the cashier stand with our card for several minutes. I thought nothing of it until I was notified of two separate $200 charges in China less than an hour after we left. My fiancé and I decided to come here tonight for dinner after he told me he remembered it being really good. Got here around 7:30 and almost all of the food was cold and the meat was very hard. The only good food I had was the baked crab. Compared to other chinese buffets I've been to, this place didn't have near as much food. I love Chinese Buffet. East of the Mississippi river you can expect similar things from a restaurant like this. This one is no exception, all the usual suspects are on the buffet. What makes it above average is that the quality of the food is better (i.e. Lo mien that is well seasoned and not slimy/overcooked).
