Dragon China is the only Chinese place in Johnstown. It's a typical carryout. There's the big pictures on the wall. It's boring inside. The food is pretty cheap and comes in big portions. I had the Bean Curd Szechuan Style. It's about $7 for the regular portion. This comes with a spicy brown sauce. It has some pretty strange containers. They put the food in some clear cylinder that's really thin. It's not good for carrying around. You can feel the heat through it. I would only get it for carryout. Interior is plain and sticky. I really didn't want to cook dinner tonight and decided to get this beef and broccoli because i was right next door and it's a very easy dish to make but this is some of the tasteless food I've ever had, the beef is chewier than gum and the sauce has no flavor at all, the side of white rice is honestly no good at all. We've had combination fried rice, shrimp with lobster sauce (big tasty shrimp), kung Pao chicken, egg rolls and egg drop soup. Only eaten here 3 times, but we're 3 for 3. All items very good, white meat chicken in the kung pao, nothing weird in any of the dishes. Yeah, so it looks like a refugee camp in there. Any of you ever been to Chinatown in San Francisco or NYC? No. Just no. The service here is definitely an eh, but that is not what matters here. It is food. The egg rolls we got were burnt. The vegetable lo mein is great, but the cashew chicken isn't right. The sauce they give to you with the crab rangoon is a bit sweeter than what I have had before. The cashew chicken was OK, but the chicken wasn't the quality I had expected it to be. There are 2 or 3 tables so don't plan on eating in. The menu is outdated, as you can order various other things that are not that. Some stuff has been taken off the menu and it doesn't even tell that. If you are a local from around here (I am) carry it out, but if you are a traveler passing through, don't bother. The food is a tier below mediocre, service isn't slow, but it isn't with a smile and seating is abysmal. While they are the only option for Chinese food in town, they are reliably good. The service leaves a lot to be desired as they are not the friendliest bunch but they are quick and efficient. We eat there pretty regularly, and while they are sometimes out of some ingredients, they usually have a wide variety to offer and have only messed up our order one time in all the years we have been eating there. Been here many, many times. I dont know that i would dine in but its perfect for carry out. The couple that run in speak in broken English but are friendly and do a good job. The dishes i have had, Triple Delight, Happy family, Cashew Chicken, Crab Ragoons have always been very good. The wait time is usually 10 minutes tops. which amazes me. Yes, they keep the temperature low in the building, its usually very warm in the kitchen and its not in there culture to "waste money" to heat and unused dining room. I had to come back and update my review due to some changes that we've noticed the last few times we've been here. The eggrolls are probably my favorite of anywhere now! They are crispy and have a great flavor. They are so good that I've eaten them for lunch several days in a row and it was not a fluke! Yum! Please keep doing what you're doing! The food seems to have improved as well. I do wish they would use more seasoning and more heat in dishes that should be spicy.
