I was in the area and saw this place, reviews from other Yelppies is ; stars, so I thought why not It was around 5pm, weekdays Walked in, the older lady in the front is Chinese and speak perfect English, which is nice, also surprised. You know how it is most of the time you walking into the Chinese restaurant, the front host or server always sounded like they want to fight you. lol Not being raciest, you know is true Anyway, I like how they have two menus, one is the American Chinese version, and the other one is the Chinese, Chinese version. Of course I'm going for the Chinese version, I ordered the 3 cups chicken, this is actually a very popular dish in the Asian countries, easy to make too. The portion is big, I ate 2 bowls of white rice, is good, I give it 6 out of 10 Even tho this is the Chinese, Chinese dish, but it was too sweet, the cook put too much sugar in it, also the chicken don't have bones in it, in my opinion is still making it as Chinese dish but American way, I guess American don't like Chicken with bones in it? Well...KFC chicken have bones in it. lol White people know how to spilt out the chicken bones! Make it as the traditional 3 cups chicken Overall, 4 stars read more

I'm in PT REHAB and one of my daughters brought lunch from here. Egg rolls which we devoured so no pix. Combo lo mein and chicken with broccoli. She picked up order and they packed all the dishes securely and included napkins, chop sticks, sauces And a menu. The food was delicious. Seasoned and presented well. We love Asian food but. A lot of places have slacked off on quality and quantity. Not Asian taste. Egg rolls were filled with tasty foods and crispy. They held together when I took bite!! Next time we'll eat in. My daughter took home the leftovers- half of each dish. read more

This is a locally owned Chinese restaurant in New Albany. Along time ago used to have a larger menu and it also had a super secret authentic Chinese menu that you could get that hat everything written in Chinese... Rumor has it it's still exist!!! What I like about this place is it small and it's consistent you can get your food customized and the family is really nice. The food is always fresh and Price seems to be fair. We've never had a problem with the staff. The staff is always attentive and they've never gotten our order wrong. We highly recommend this place. read more

This is the place we have been searching for!! My husband and I think we have found the best pad Thai and also the best General Tsos! We ordered while driving from the Gahanna area. 16 min later it was hot and ready! We got it home and it was still hot and delicious! The crab Rangoon is not amazing, but the sauce was unique! Prices are reasonable and portions are huge! We will be back again and again! We are excited to have found our new favorite Chinese take out! read more

Great place for Asian food. Location right next to the Giant Eagle Market in New Albany allows you to stop by right after grocery shopping. Their Hot & Sour soup is the best I've ever eaten. I highly recommend visiting this gem. read more

It was ok. I didn't care for the General Taos or fried rice. Vegetables were sparse, no egg and not much flavor in the rice. The Vegetable lo mein was decent and I did enjoy the crab Rangoon. I would not eat in (it looks sad inside), only order out! read more

Other than adding 5 minutes to any estimate they provide for pickup the food here is consistently good and the prices are reasonable. Definitely our favorite goto for local Chinese food. read more

First time at Asian Taste in New Albany tonight. First time, but definitely not our last! The food was delicious! The portions were huge! Nice to find a quiet, nice and tasty restaurant near us! read more

Best Asian food this side of town. Their salt and pepper pork is our family's go to.

They're always quick and the food has always been consistently good for me. Probably the best in the area.

had a group of five of us, we were sat at the round table and i'm guessing it was the owner but a very nice lady took our orders, served us, talked with us throughout the dinner and was incredibly kind. the food here is delicious I had the orange peel chicken and the flavor was amazing and great quality chicken. also best crab rangoons ever! 10/10 read more

Really high level Chinese takeout here with quality options for both Americanized classics and traditional Chinese dishes. Nothing makes me happier than being able to get a good General Tso's Chicken and a Cantonese Chow Fun at the same spot. They also have this incredible thing called a Scallion Pancake Roll. They take an already great crispy, chewy scallion pancake rolled up with deli ham, egg, and cilantro with a nice soy dipping sauce. It's much more than the sun of its parts and I crave it constantly. read more

Food is pretty solid every time. Convenient, friendly Asian food that we would recommend.

I have zero idea how this place has so many 5 star review. Truly the worst asian food of my life. As soon as we got seated, the lady came up and asked for our order, we asked for a few minutes to look at the menu, and she was pushy and kept recommending food. We ordered quickly because she would not leave the table. The food was HORRIBLE. Pork was gray, dry, and inedible. Even the fortune cookie was stale. Will 100% not go back. Just do yourself a favor and walk the few short steps to Local Cantina instead. read more

I had high hopes trying to find a good Chinese food place near me. Granted, I'm comparing to Lei's Asian Bistro, so the bar is pretty high. I ordered Chicken Fried Rice and steamed dumplings via phone. That is the only way to order. The order was taken by a less than enthusiastic employee. They don't offer fountain soda, FYI. I was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes, 20 minutes later, I walked into a small, clean, looking dining room. The employee was on her phone and barely acknowledged me. She was short and not super friendly. I got my order home, and the dumplings were probably the highlight, plenty of well seasoned filling, and the dumplings had pleasing texture. The dipping sauce was delicious. The Chicken Fried Rice was meh. It was pretty bland with small pieces of chicken white and dark meat. I was impressed the veggies looked and tasted fresh and the addition of scallions. It hasn't been the worst I've experienced, but it isn't the best, and taking into account the customer service experience, I probably won't be back anytime soon. read more

We have been a fan of this restaurant. Always buy fried rice with beef pineapple, green peas, and baby corn. It's salted just right, all the ingredients are fresh . Love it. We also buy, Chinese donuts . These are fried donuts , round shape rolled into sugar. The mild saltine taste in the dough made it more tasty. Their beef with vegetables and pot stickers are also good. I gave it four star rather than five because the interior area could have been more decorative and inviting. read more

Get the lo mein here or any noodle dish and you can't go wrong! Service is ridiculously fast and overall great!

Most people don't even know it exist, however when I tell him about it he quickly becomes their favorite also.

This place is a bit overrated. Not only on the Yelp reviews but also from locals. I had heard about this place from a former coworker who lived in New Albany. She said it was by far the best. So I've had it on my bookmarked list for probably 2-3 years. I live in the Short North so New Albany is out of my way. However, Chinese New Year fell on a Friday this year, so I was like "What the heck?! I'll drive there for a to-go order." What a way to celebrate the Lunar New Year! I'll start with the pros: -Ordering process was seamless. I called it in about 5:30p for a 7:30p pickup and it was ready as soon as I walked in. Just gave them my name, they had me pay and handed me my bag. -Food is well-priced for what you get. All told $11 for a giant portion. -Portion size is its own "pro."- I got the sweet and sour chicken with steamed rice and a Spring roll. The S&S chicken portion easily feeds two. I ate dinner that night and had a heart portion for leftovers the next day. Cons: -Really the main con here is that honestly it's not that good. I felt like the sauce wasn't flavorful enough. I even thought during the 20 minute drive home "shouldn't I be salivating over the delicious aroma of this food?" It smelled like nothing. And when I ate it, there was some flavor, but not much. The cafeteria at my work makes better S&S chicken in my opinion. -No fortune cookie! :( This had to be the first Asian restaurant I've ever gotten takeout from with no fortune cookie. Bummer! All told, I would not go out of my way to come here again. I arguably wouldn't really even go even if I'm in the area. But if a friend really wanted to come here, I'd just do it. Which is my personal standard definition of a "2" rating. Overrated and don't recommend. read more

I have eaten at Asian Taste a number of times - it's one of my favorite places to get Chinese food from. They have a lot of great-sounding dishes but I never seem to get beyond their General Tso's Chicken. Asian Taste has found a way to get a crispy outside on the chicken but somehow keep the chicken moist on the inside. Their spring rolls & hot and sour soup are pretty good too. The staff is always friendly and courteous. They bring out the dishes quicker than any other Chinese restaurant I have been to. I have noticed they seem to do a lot of take-out orders. I like this restaurant and recommend it because it's a little off the beaten path. It's not located in a major mall or shopping area and seems to be the opposite direction of traffic when I stop by for dinner. read more

Customer service is beyond bad, Came in at 7:45, door says they close at 9pm. She had a very bad attitude while ordering. My son and I both noticed her attitude and he tried to be nice and asked her how her day was going? More attitude about how it's time to leave. Very rude counter person. Brought our food tied up a bag and dropped it ion the table, and walked away. No response when we said thank you. read more

So good! We ordered ma po tofu, three cup chicken, general Tsos chicken, scallion pancakes, beef chow fun, hot and sour soup and 2 egg rolls for ~$60. It was so much food! Plus, each main dish came with a side of white rice, fried rice or lomein noodles - we got one of each. The hot and sour soup and egg rolls weren't my favorites in town, but they were still good! The scallion pancakes and three cup chicken reminded me of my dad's. The ma po tofu had a good ratio of meat to sauce to tofu - could be a little spicier, but I'm sure you could ask them to make it the way you like. The beef chow fun was so good and had quite a lot of beef in it! Only thing we realized was that we didn't order much vegetables, but we learned for next time! This will definitely be my go to Chinese place! read more

My go to takeout place! Authentic Chinese menu is awesome... wide variety of selections...

Best Asian food in New Albany. That's not to say there are a lot of choices or competition. Just bummer it's the only place anywhere close. With that said you can tell they run a tight ship and there is attention for detail. Service can be a little direct but I actually appreciate it because the food is good and timely. Maybe this is cause I had a dragon mom, but again it isn't a negative to me. There is a good variation of different Asian styles. I even found some Korean dishes to have if needed. I think the main specialties are Chinese but the food is good. Give them a try,eat in or pickup. read more

Excellent service and great tasting food! I have been there several times now and I'm never disappointed!

I've only had Asian Taste as a take out option as the seating and service is not great. I normally get general tso when I do order from here. Probably one of the best Chinese restaurants in New Albany. Definitely recommend grabbing Asian Taste for your next Chinese craving read more

I am in town from Pittsburgh and miss good Chinese. There are two menus. A peach color menu which is authentic Asian. The white menu is the traditional Asian dishes you can get about anywhere. In Pittsburgh (I don't want to sell it short - we have really good food here) I have not been able to find a really good Chinese restaurant. Most places are those who have the same supplier and are processed / prepare. Therefore, I stay away from the Chinese prepare-er restaurants. The food was on point. Ordered some Beef Mongolian with Rice (traditional menu) for my elderly mother who was craving some take-out and fan tail shrimp as an appetizer. We thoroughly enjoyed it. This will be a go-to since my mother has limited ability to get good Asian food (and I love good Chinese food). Check this out - give it a shot. Atmosphere - It just opened but it was clean, white table clothes Price - prices were on point and the lunch menu was $5-7. Service - The provided my meal in meal prepper containers (2 sections) - no Styrofoam, no leaks. The attendant was nice and guided me to what I needed to order pretty quickly. read more

This has been my go to Asian spot since I moved to New Albany. Anita and her family take care of everyone. I have a love hate relationship with how popular they are when I'm hungry! It gets crowded. I love that there's an authentic menu, as well as classic favorites, but I've even asked Anita to just make me something because I didn't know what I wanted. She's never let me down. I also respect that she and her family take time for themselves so closed on Sunday's and an annual vacation she laughs because before they leave I order Fried Rice, Chow Fun, Egg rolls, hot and Sour soup and Hot Spiced Chicken Wings or Fish and then vacuum seal and freeze it so I have it while they are out of town. read more

Asian Taste is a good Chinese restaurant. I'd say is on par with most Chinese spots. Nothing will wow you. Personally I like Joy Food One and Chi Thai better but Asian Taste is worth a try to see if they make your favorite dish really good. read more

I've been here twice and each time I've been pretty impressed. What I like is that there is an "American Chinese" menu and then a "Chinese Chinese" menu. Last time I was there, one of the ladies recommended trying something off the "Chinese menu".....had some of the seafood soup. Was good but was served family style. So plan on splitting it between at least 2 people. First I went, I had the General Tso's chicken (don't judge me). It was very good!! The hot & sour soup is just okay. I've had better but it's not horrible. I'm looking forward to trying more off the Chinese menu. I heard the spicy fish is really good! That'll be next on my list. Great job Asian Taste!! read more

Asian Taste - Orange peel chicken!!! Amazing! - Asian Fusion Near Me - New Albany, Ohio

Went back last weekend, and I'll stick with the 3 stars. Good, not great. Tried the Mongolian Beef, Pad Thai, Kon Bo (Kung Pao) chicken, Thai Basil chicken, and Thai fried rice (fried rice with meats, pineapple, and a dose of spice.) Service was again friendly, and again, the food's good, just not quite as good as other places. read more

This is my favorite Asian Restaurant in New Albany! They have daily lunch special Monday through Friday everyday for $5.99. They change the special menu like once a month I believe. The lunch special is a great deal for the quality and portion of the food. I love how they have 2 choices for daily special so you won't be limited to only one. Daily special also come with egg roll OR soup(can't beat that)! Some people might not know, but they also have authentic Chinese food. You will have to ask for a special Chinese menu but it is all in Chinese so if you can't read Chinese then you might need the server to translate for you. I always do carry out during lunch time because it could be a little busy dining in. The carry out order usually ready in about 10-15 minutes so its very convenient. They also have carry 10% off for carry out dinner. Overall, its a great restaurant. I really enjoy the food! read more

Asian Taste - Lunch special - Kon Bo Shrimp. Good portion for the price of $5.99. Very tasty and flavorful - Asian Fusion Near Me - New Albany, Ohio

Best Chinese on this side of town. White meat chicken. I get the orange chicken every time - sometime it is spicy and sometimes it's not.

This place is a hidden gem! Do not let the small number of reviews or the look of the restaurant fool you! I initially went to Asian Taste simply because my friends and I were on our way back to Columbus from a tiring day out at a nearby fruit farm. We wanted Chinese and this place popped up on Yelp with a mere 7 reviews. Judging by its location and size, I had already assumed it would be just your regular Chinese joint. BUT, what we found in the end, was truly a hidden gem. We're a group of international students who go to OSU and we've been searching high and low for some authentic Chinese food (unfortunately, nothing up-to-par can be found around the campus area) and we found it here in New Albany! We were a group of 7 and had ordered 5 dishes - including a wintermelon soup. I highly recommend the Superior Pickle Sauce Fish and the soup. This is as authentic as it gets in terms of a Cantonese style, Chinese food. We loved how the food was very nicely presented and had a very low price for our student budgets! If you're used to "Americanized" Chinese dishes, I'd recommend you try the authentic dishes, and steer away from the usual General Tso, Orange Chicken etc kind of orders. Great place. We will definitely be back for another meal! read more

Everything we've ordered from here is delicious! Initially made the drive for Asian Taste after reading reviews on Yelp. Continuing to make it our go-to for Asian. Phad Thai is delicious, and likely the best sauce I've had-not too salty and fresh. read more

Chicken n rice soup, edamame with chili oil and chicken green bean have become my go tos. Oh ya they have a lively authentic menu too.

My wife was stumping for a visit downtown to an Asian restaurant that I did not believe was worth the trip. I asked her to look up Asian food closer to us (in Westerville) and my wife came up with this gem. Drove the back roads to the strip mall in New Albany that houses this restaurant, next to the Giant Eagle. This is your pretty typical Chinese restaurant in appearance. We got a table at the sparsely populated spot (it was Saturday night, but there was a snowstorm going on outside). The menu was quite nice; a mix of Korean, Chinese and Thai dishes. The descriptions could use a little work - a lot dishes were described as "chicken, vegetables, in a spicy sauce." There were a handful of these descriptions, so I asked for a recommendation from our server, who suggested a Korean dish that fit this description, leading me to the conclusion that the ownership was likely Korean, versus Chinese or Thai. As we were waiting, a large amount of silver-clad food was amassed at a center table. Between this big catering job and a lot of take-out/delivery (again, it was snowing), our food took a long time. We split two orders of chicken-corn-soup, that was a lot like egg-drop soup. Pretty good. We split an order of crab Rangood; also solid. Kids split an order of fried rice, which was pretty good. I got a spicy Korean chicken & veggie dish, which was good. Wife got Pad thai, which was OK. Toss in 3 soft drinks and an order of tea for me, and the grand total was $43. Not too shabby for a good meal. I would recommend this joint. read more
