The first time I visited I let the person know my food allergies and she guided me to the different foods I could eat and what I had to stay away from. My son and I were on the prowl for some vittles when I suggested some restaurants to him. He selected Dragon Buffet because it has the highest rating of all buffets in the area. So off we went. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated and our drink requests were taken. I headed to the buffet and my son was like, "Shouldn't we wait for our drinks to arrive?" and I was like, "No, our drinks will be here when we get back from the buffet." So he followed me and we filled some plates. The food is really good and there is a great selection. When we were seated once again, my son said, "I think buffets are my favorite type of restaurant". I agreed because we both like selection and he is a picky eater. We consumed our meal, but I wasn't sure if we were supposed to wait for the check or pay at the cashier. I guess you can do either. So excited for this trip back to Medina, where I used to walk the square, dance in the square, shop in the square until all this other retail mess showed up everywhere. We traveled about an hour to try this placed based off reviews and word of mouth. The food seemed pretty fresh and was your average buffet. The hot and sour soup was delicious and spicy. First of all: we came in close to closing (an hour left) and the staff asked multiple times if we wanted anything refilled and said they would make anything we wanted (if the tray was empty due to closing time). That is SO kind and above and beyond!! They did make fresh donuts for us when we asked and we so appreciated that. I've eaten here and the old location many times throughout the years. They used to be amazing. Things seem to be slipping. They don't keep most of the food stocked at night on weekdays. The trays are mostly empty, but you still get charged full price. Maybe Friday and Saturday nights are better because they would tend to be busier. Not much in the vegetable line (my veggie favorite, the wok fried beans, were done just right). A nice moist salmon was also a highlight. My favorite dessert was an attractive and moist multi-layered cake, plus a selection of 5 ice creams. I arrived early for dinner, and the buffet was well-stocked and refreshed continuously. Ok so this place was ok .. Not the best, not the worst. Some things were definitely better than others and the things that were better than others were pretty average. The clams were DISGUSTING! This may sound weird but, you know how sea world smells? Well, that's what the claims tasted / smelled like. Gross. They do have other seafood options, including sushi, but after trying the clams I decided it was best to stay away from things that live in water. So, when you consider the price of take out Chinese and what you get, you can get all you can eat for that price here. I love me some Chinese food, trust! But I also know that takeout Chinese is 99.999% of the time all I can eat. Difference with the all you can eat buffet: smaller portions of different dishes. You want pepper steak, lo mein, orange chicken, pot stickers? Go buffet. Just want pepper steak and some rice? Definitely take out. We ventured to Dragon Buffet Friday evening is search of my Chinese fix (I have a problem) for a respectable price. Upon arrival, we were quickly greeted and given a table as well as our drinks. The buffet is stacked with your typical Chinese staples such as many different flavors of chicken pieces, lo mein, and egg rolls. They also have no extra charge crab meat offered as well, which is nice considering many places tack on more to the bill for this. Also, something such as ice cream which is mostly served out of a machine with two flavors, was replaced with a full freezer complete with real quality self serve ice cream of notable variety. The rest of what you will find is on par with what you'll find in any buffet in Ohio, such as an average salad bar, and dessert bar. What I helped myself to my recent visit however was a mixture of pepper steak, lo mien, and eggs rolls with a MASSIVE amount of soy sauce; and boy did it hit the spot. The lo mein and steak was perfectly cooked, and the eggs rolls just the right crispness. Dessert was also satisfying, especially when I mixed there average chocolate pudding every buffet has with there higher quality ice cream; this made for a great dessert! One general characteristic that I thought set it apart from other more average Chinese buffet houses (Ex: Royal Buffet in Akron) is that all of the food was kept very fresh even in the absence of much business inside, and I believe is replaced very regularly. What intervention from the staff we did require was met with smiles and kindness; from refilling drinks to processing our bill. Speaking of which, this entire dinner buffet can be had for just $10.99 a person! The bill was around $65 for 5 people with tax included. I find this to be very reasonable, as Dragon Buffet beats most other buffets I have experienced at this price point in value. All in all, I would definitely recommend Dragon Buffet to any lover of Chinese food who doesn't want to break the bank. The food and service are very satisfying and are of great value. They have 2 long buffets of chicken, pork, shrimp and beef fixed lots of ways with some veggies, rice and Chinese dumplings. They also have a small sushi bar and salad bar and a desert bar!!! It was crowded with people looking for a real bargain! Most of the things I tried were very tasty. The ice creams were good but i'd forget about the rest of the deserts. They have a great selection of your favorite American Chinese food along with some other food, such as pizza and mozzarella sticks. One of my favorite things are the crab legs...so good. One thing you always wanna do like Ihop come hungry and leave happy. The owners and staff ask that when you visit to please be patience and curitous to others that are dinning and to leave some for the other customers that might be wannting to enjoy the same food as you. It's been years since I tried Dragon Buffet, last time was at their original establishment, which was disappointing. I arrived around 9pm on a Friday night, passing all the other restaurants which were packed I expected the same at Dragon, to my surprise we were the only people there. The food was better than I expected, especially since it seemed like we were the only customers for awhile. I asked if they were able to put out more frog legs, my favorite, they came out quickly & hot. The only issues I had were some of the food was cold, sushi was not good & there was no yum yum sauce. When we walked in they were cleaning up as if they were about to close despite it being two hours til closing & seemed a bit annoyed & in a hurry to get us out. My biggest issue was that they continued to clean, specifically brooming around the food sitting out, which anywhere else I would make a complaint, but they didn't mind making a new batch of frog legs so I tried to ignore it. I gave a deserving four stars, the food was very good, & despite feeling rushed, I had left my vape on the table which the waitress noticed & rushed it out to the parking lot right as we were leaving.
