Dragon Buffet

Outstanding Buffett today. Hot and plentiful lunch. Chicken wings excellent dumplings and sauce too. Dozen crab Rangoon's. No dessert too full.

Vittles

My son and I were on the prowl for some vittles when I suggested some restaurants to him. He selected Dragon Buffet because it has the highest rating of all buffets in the area. So off we went. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated and our drink requests were taken. I headed to the buffet and my son was like, "Shouldn't we wait for our drinks to arrive?" and I was like, "No, our drinks will be here when we get back from the buffet." So he followed me and we filled some plates. The food is really good and there is a great selection. When we were seated once again, my son said, "I think buffets are my favorite type of restaurant". I agreed because we both like selection and he is a picky eater. We consumed our meal, but I wasn't sure if we were supposed to wait for the check or pay at the cashier. I guess you can do either. The price was reasonable and the food and service were very good. Of note were the steamed mushrooms and seafood stuffed mushrooms. They were excellent. This will be our go to buffet from now on.

I've eaten here and the old location many times throughout the years. They used to be amazing. Things seem to be slipping. They don't keep most of the food stocked at night on weekdays. The trays are mostly empty, but you still get charged full price. Maybe Friday and Saturday nights are better because they would tend to be busier. They might also want to do a deep cleaning around the place and on the tables.

I was disappointed. My husband doesn't like Chinese buffets, so while he was out of town, I came here alone. My first round of food was cold. As more people came in, they brought out more food and that was hot. The lo memo was good, the general Taos was good and the peanut chicken was good. The salad was fresh and crisp and the soup that I had was decent. The rest was ok - not bad, just not great This is a one and done for me

First time eating here and for as little as it is, the buffet was very good. The quality of the chicken was good. It's always a must try. Today was very good.

How is food served now with Covid guidelines?

It's still buffet style. They have hand sanitizer available to use before you serve yourself. They also have throw away plates now but they still have regular reusable silverware. There are plastic screens between the booth tables. Servers wore… Read more

It's packed but do not get impatient, they have this down to a science and you are usually called within 20-30 minutes or less. It depends on the line. The food is tasty, very delicious. The pies... yum o'lala. Clean, everyone is kind. Oh and the Amish families eat there, so you know it has to be good. Our guest ate from the Buffett, we eat from the menu.

There's a buffet or menu items to choose from. We got the buffet. Full salad bar with fresh ingredients, local cheese. Cold salads like macaroni and broccoli. The croutons were good, crunchy but not break your teeth and they had a variety of breads they used. Fresh bacon pieces. The hot foods bar had: -fried chicken (VERY good, highly recommend) -cabbage casserole (little too cheesy for me) -corn (very very sweet, interesting) -noodles (YUM!!!) -dressing (what they call stuffing, it was good) -bbq ribs (fall of the bone but I thought the sauce could be better, have more flavor) -green beans (basic, would be better with seasoning/butter) -mashed potatoes and gravy (yum!) We had good service and overall the buffet was a better deal than ordering something off the menu, especially if you wanted to try a couple different things. It was a good way to get a wide variety of items. Lemonade was very fresh

Atmosphere: Walking into the restaurant, the woman at the…read morecounter was a little less than friendly and just acted like she hated her job. When getting our first plates of food, I think we set at least 5 plates to the side before we found clean ones to use. One thing to take BIG note of is that MAYBE 25% of the food, sauces and condiments are labeled. It is a guessing game what you are getting. Aside from that, our table was clean, and our waitress was very nice. One thing that you MUST BE AWARE OF if you come to eat here, you can only tip with cash. Unless you go back up to the front counter to the woman who hates her job and ask for cash off of your card, you and your waitress/waiter are out of luck. We literally had to zelle our waitress her tip because we felt so bad and I better there are many times a day that customer just simply don't tip at all because "if they wanted us to tip then they should have made that possible on our card". Very few people are going to want to walk back up to Hate-My-Job Jessica and go through the hassle of getting cash back on their card. That is something that they really need to figure out. Food: We tried the following foods: -Tortilla chips with ground taco meat and cheese sauce: With the looks of the cheese sauce, I thought it was going to be very bad, but it was actually the item I ate the most of. Albeit hard to screw up nachos, we still very much enjoyed them. -Spinach artichoke dip: We were excited to try this because it looked fresh, hot and creamy. We were mistaken. This was FOWL. We rarely get something so bad we have to spit into a napkin, but this was absolutely one of those times. It had absolutely zero flavor. -Chicken Tenders: The chicken tenders were good. But hands down the best thing I had at dinner that night was the orange sauce you see on the plate (It was definitely some type of buffalo sauce but of course it wasn't labeled). -Popcorn shrimp: The popcorn shrimp was good. But was sucked about it was that the cocktail sauce is all the way on the other side of the buffet and there is no sign to tell you that. Obviously, it is kept where the cold condiments are, but I had to ask where it was and that was a guessing/smelling game as well since nothing is labeled. -Tamale: Disgusting. Period. -Meatloaf: My partner said the meatloaf was your average run of mill meatloaf but was good. -Green beans and mashed potatoes: Good -Lemon Custard Cake?: It wasn't labeled, and we thought it was cheesecake from the looks. Good thing we didn't put chocolate sauce... -Banana Pudding: Good. Your average banana pudding. If we were down on our luck and needed a cheap way to get a full stomach, we would try it again. Other than that.... No thank you

So today when we had money we went and visited. We cam just after 3 just in time for dinner. This place is very well decorated and has a lovely inside. As for the food, there are several buffet bars filled with food. They are hot, fresh, and delicious. I enjoyed several plates of food, even dessert! The price is a bit heavy at around $11 a person for dinner. But it is a very good deal for as much as I ate. Overall, this is a great place to go if you love Chinese food and great quality!
