Requested takeout from Happy Garden recently as my family really likes Chinese food and this is the closest establishment to home. My son ordered his usual sweet n sour chicken, I requested chicken fried rice, and my wife requested pork spare ribs. I stopped by to pick up the food and it was ready when I walked in and there was no line. I asked the lady how long this restaurant had been at this location and she said over 20 years. When I got home, the food was hot and smelled delicious. Everything was very tasty. The pork spare ribs were larger than the ones at other Chinese restaurants. My son liked his sweet n sour chicken and my chicken fried rice was very tasty. We'll definitely be back. read more

Happy Garden is better than Hop Hing. After two visits each. They actually HAD the bone in bbq ribs. MOST Chinese restaurants have bone in ribs on the menu, but don't actually HAVE them. The food is standard good. I like it. It's no china town in San Fran or New York or Boston. But for the Midwest it's just fine. So I adjust accordingly. But the bone in ribs are as good as any I have ever had. Yum! read more

First time trying and it was decent. Honestly the best thing about this place was how fast they were. Incredibly fast!!! The staff was super nice and it's in a good location. I always love places that offer broccoli with brown sauce, unfortunately a lot of them don't, so I was excited they did. It was pretty good. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken and he liked his meal as well. The only disappoint was the fried rice. It was kind of bland, so we added more soy sauce and it was better. It almost felt like we were eating healthy fried rice, if that makes sense. It was worth a try and I'm sure we will order different food next time to try. read more

The food was bland and tasteless. The chow mei fun was dry. Singapore chow mei fun had little spice, what it did have came from a few crushed pepper seeds. We were completely and fundamentally disappointed. Our son ordered sesame chicken which was sub par. Again, absolutely NO flavor. The boneless ribs were cooked to death and were tough and dry. Stopped in tonight while I was on a business trip to the area. Ordered the Szechuan Chicken combo and asked for extra spicy. I also got an extra egg roll and hot & sour soup. Although I asked for extra spicy I don't believe they added any spice to it. It was very bland with a sweet taste to it. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give the heat a 1 or lower. The egg rolls were very good, very fresh and the outside was crispy. The fried rice that came with the entree was very bland as well in my opinion. Finally, the hot and sour soup was not spicy or sour at all. Maybe a small hint of sour. The ingredients were fine but the flavor could have been much better. Far exceeded my expectations! Not your average take out place and what a gem especially in NE Ohio. This was our first time ordering here and we got it all: fast, hot, fresh and full of flavor. This place actually gets no stars because I called and tried to place a delivery order while at work but the lady told me it needed to be at least 25 and just hung up on me while trying to ask her another question. From my experience, Asian take-out places can be hit or miss. However, I would say that Happy Garden is a definite "Hit", and provides good quality & value for your dining dollar. It's not a fancy-schmancy gourmet asian bistro, but it should definitely be on your radar if you are looking for a decent place to grab some quick take-out. The restaurant was very clean inside when I visited, the staff friendly & professional, and the food that I received was very hot & fresh tasting. Eager to find a Chinese takeout restaurant close to my new living area, I was excited to find this one and tried it right away. I was pleased with the pricing and the quality of the food. I got a small sized portion of the Beef with Broccoli and tried the Egg Rolls. My boyfriend tried the Scallops with Garlic Sauce and fried rice. My meal was very tasty and filled me up very well. I asked for it spicy, and would have liked it to be more spicy, but it was still tasty. The rice was beautifully steamed and stuck together just like I like it to. We have been going to Happy Garden for years. It's always overall excellent. It's my kids favorite spot. They prefer to go there and eat in. I do take out often, but occasionally we do eat there. The portions are great and so are the prices. The sweet and sour shrimp is excellent. The ribs are good. The Vegetable Mei Fun is the best I've had (Shrimp Mei Fun is also very good). The fried rice, wonton soup, eggrolls are always excellent. My kids love the Vegetable Lo Mien as well. Never had anything bad (I always stick with vegetable or shrimp dishes for the most part as they are my favorites). You can enjoy free hot tea while you are there. Never ever have I had an order incorrect. Everything is always fresh, hot, and correct. They package all the food very carefully and provide condiments. It's located not far from Interstate 71 on 18 in a well kept plaza. IT'S A MUST TRY FOR FAST TAKE OUT OR QUICK AND EASY DINE IN. And, depending on what you order it can be very healthy. I imagine one's review depends on the food ordered. My husband had Beef Chow Mei Fun and an egg roll. He said it was very delicious and the egg roll was better than the egg rolls we used to order from Asian Grill. However, my dish, Beef Chow Mein, was highly disappointing, in that it was the most tasteless chow mein I'd ever eaten. The texture was much different than other chow mein I have had, being it mostly was comprised of shredded leafy green vegetables and had hardly any bean sprouts, which I love. The pieces of beef were quite small and they blended in with the vegetables. Overall, the appearance of the dish lacked texture, with no discernible recognition of what it contained. I could have looked past that IF it would have had FLAVOR. I also had ordered a side of steamed dumplings with dipping sauce and those were good. We had no issue at all with the people who worked there. They were very nice and service was quick. So we do not waste our money, I intend to use my leftovers and make egg foo young with it. We will return to try something else. I do hope the chef we had today (there might be others) learns to add flavor to their dishes. If not, their business will do poorly. read more

Alright it was a Sunday evening I had just gotten home from work, my wife was out probably with another man but I didn't care. Anyway I was driving home and looked at the clock and it was about 6 o clock. I soon realized that I probably need food because I'm tired of eating the crap my wife makes so I saw the plaza with yours truly, that like Mexican restaurant, the frozen yogurt place and that subway so I decided to pull in (giggity) I parked looked at each of the restaurants and I thought I'd look dumb going in there alone and saying table for one. So I thought maybe subway so I moved my car towards the restaurant. I looked in there and saw the line of people unfortunately I saw this guy who thinks we're friends and I didn't feel like faking a smile so I thought I would just leave and pick up some Taco Bell or something. But something caught my eye the Chinese restaurant. I normally can't afford to pay for my entire family ( not really I just didn't feel like paying and didn't want to feel lazy sorry). I got a flashback of when I was a boy and about those amazing egg rolls and those noodles I think their called lo mien. So I decided why not so I got out of my car and walked through the door. I was greeted and I picked up a menu saw what I wanted and ordered. My order was beef lo mien and a side order of egg rolls and I got some general tsos chicken you know for later. I waited what felt like forever because the excitement I felt. So pulled out my phone and played word bubbles stuck level like 147. So later I picked up the bag and went home. I got home And sat down at my table and took the food out of the bag. Then I saw those noodles I literally was about to cry. I thought this was going to be just one of the meals but o my gosh that looks beautiful. I undid the lid the noodles just looked amazing and a beautiful color to it and I got a fork and wrapped some noodles around it and took a bite... One of the greatest feelings of my life I just couldn't stop eating it it was just great. When I took a brake I saw those egg rolls in the bag whipped out some duck sauce and had me a great time. The egg roll was just more than perfect and the duck sauces blend of flavor really pushes it to being pure flavor. I could go On and on about this but when I finished my meal I saw the General tsos I ordered and thought maybe I could say that was for my wife so I threw that in the fridge and walked away. About 2 or 3 hours later my girlfriend came home an announced she ate and was tired from her school work and went to bed sorry I said wife early i got to ahead of myself. So I pulled out the chicken heated it up and had a feast fit for a king. The food got me thinking why is my girlfriend going to school if she has been working from about 9-4 and that she only takes classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights for whatever she wants to be. So I marched into our room and asked her to explain this to me. I could feel she knew what I was going to say but she still tried to defend it. I first asked why she came home so late the answer was school. Told her, her schedule and got a ohh yeah. I asked have you been cheating on me. She responded with a frown and how could you say that and a I would never, do i asked why she was trying to defend herself she gave up and said yes but she said that was going to be the last time. So with my general tsos chicken in my right hand, I pointed with my left hand to the door. Our family gets takeout from here at least twice per month. We love their food, they are always friendly, and always put a little extra in our order as thanks for our business. Our favorite meal is the General Tso's chicken, egg rolls, and crab rangoon. Their crab rangoon is some of the best I've ever had.
