Manager Tara is the only reason they even get 2 stars. She comped our meals after receiving charcoal briquettes for filets the first round followed by rare/blue center on the refire. The sautéed mushrooms were delicious and the rolls were on point. I did enjoy the campfire sangria cocktail special and the Duckhorn Cabernet. My family and I dined at the Brown Derby (Medina location) on Friday evening with a 5:15 reservation. We arrived on time and were seated promptly, which we appreciated. Our server was pleasant; however, the overall experience felt rushed. While it was a Friday night, the restaurant was not on a wait and there were many open tables, so the pace felt unnecessary. Both of my children ordered the steak-on-a-stick from the kids' menu, requesting it cooked medium. My husband and I each ordered steak salads. Our children's meals arrived quickly, but when we cut into the steak, it was clearly undercooked. When the food runner returned with ketchup, my husband politely mentioned the issue. She appeared confused but did take the meals back to be corrected. The food was returned prepared as originally requested. Shortly after, our salads arrived. While my steak was slightly overdone--which I didn't mind--the condition of the salad itself was extremely disappointing. The lettuce was wilted and browned, giving the impression it was far from fresh. Aside from a portion of hard-boiled egg, nothing on the salad appeared fresh, which was unacceptable given the price point. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated experience. The last four visits to this location have all been subpar. Each time, I've hoped it was a one-off, yet I continue to leave disappointed. We had a good server. We had the crab/ seafood stuffed mushrooms, which were lacking seafood. The rolls were over cooked and dry for dinner rolls. We ordered the grilled pork chop which was perfectly cooked. The ribs were tender and were seasoned with a great flavored bbq sauce. Ambient lighting doesn't always have to be dark. Like most places, the portion sizes have gotten smaller as the price went up. Obviously if you can't answer your phone, the likelihood of another $200+ delivery order is out of the question. Average service and average tasting food We went on a weekday with children. The restaurant was only about half full and the service seemed kind of slow for the number of people there. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY EATING HERE! I came here with my husband & mother-in-law. The restaurant wasn't very full when we arrived, but the host asked us if we had reservations. I was taken aback by his comment. He was able to seat us immediately. Our server was very kind and great with drink refills. We ordered appetizers (calamari, French onion soup and shrimp scampi), within 5 minutes, the server said they were out of calamari. I ordered fried green tomatoes instead. They were paper thin, extremely greasy & wet. My mother-in-law's shrimp looked overcooked to me, but she enjoyed it. Hubby's soup was ok, but he noticed they used mozzarella rather than gruyere on top. For entrées, I ordered a steak medium (as it is a steakhouse), hubby ordered lobster tail and mother-in-law ordered scallops. The first thing I noticed about my steak when I touched it, was that it was WAAAAAAY too hard - ie. OVERCOOKED. I cut into the middle and the steak was well done, like ZERO pink. I wasn't sure how a supposed "steakhouse" has line cooks and expediters that can't tell the difference by touch between a well done and medium Temps AT A STEAKHOUSE! I didn't eat it. The baked potato was slightly crunchy, so that I didn't eat either. My dogs on the other hand enjoyed it. My husband's lobster was burnt on top and quite rubbery - ie. overcooked. Mother-in-law's scallops were quite small and also looked overcooked, but she said it was fine for her. The only reason we came was to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday as she chose the location. The food was TERRIBLE and over priced. We could have went to The Marble Room for a similar price point, but higher quality of food. If I never eat at Brown Derby again, that will be too soon. I've visited Girves Brown Derby several times since moving to Medina. This is one of the closest restaurants to my house. They cook some of their offerings over a wood fire, which gives a unique taste. I've had steaks, hamburgers, and chicken and all were delicious cooked over the wood fire. So far, my favorite dish has been the smothered chicken. Served with mashed potatoes and veggies, it's quite delicious. I also ordered a baked sweet potato, which was amazing. Paired with a Downeast Cider, my dinner was awesome. The service is fast and friendly and they are complying with COVID-19 regulations. We'll continue to dine here. Excellent meal! read more

Went there last night. Went with two fiends that ordered Porter house steaks. The filet portion on the porter house was absent. It was basically a T bone. Server was really a disaster.
