Located inside an old chair, this place was amazing! Cool,…read morecasual yet elegant, service was outstanding and the food was really delicious and fresh. We came for brunch and they almost had to roll us out of there. They passed around oysters, shrimp cocktail and grilled pineapple with honey. Three different food stations: meat, vegetable and shrimp skewers was one; your choice of southern ham (prosciutto basically) or crab cake eggs benedicts was the second one and the third one I don't remember (mostly because I didn't quite make it there). In the middle they had lobster deviled eggs, assorted tea sandwiches and a small section with desserts. Everything was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. Yes, it's expensive but so well worth it!! Parking can be an issue but the good thing is, you can walk off a little of everything that you ate so that's a win!

It wasn't worth the price tbh for brunch. I will update my review or make a new one if we go to…read moredinner and maybe that was our mistake. $78 per person from brunch wasn't that great. They barely brought around food like the French toast bites. They kept bringing around oysters and literally no table wanted them that I saw. It wasn't that busy either, tons of empty tables. Instead they held off the arguably best dish of the house: French toast bites. We FINALLY got them at the end of our meal before we left but had to stalk the waiter for them. For $78 there should be way more rotations of the better dishes. Our waiter was great and atmosphere is gorgeous. Playing, food quality and everything was average. The highlight was the poached eggs, eggs Benedict, bacon, potatoes, skewers and everything else was okay. Not better than like Golden Corral or a standard buffet. My opinion is skip the brunch for that price, unless you really like oysters LOL. Also if I had little kids, would never waste money on brunch here.

We were reviewing options for a large lunch and decided we can't really beat the price so decided to try it out. While I had disappointing moments the entire experience was exactly what I expected it to be. Hot food, fresh sushi and it didn't break the bank. I started with an array of Sushi from California Roll to Spicy Tuna Roll and even Sashimi. There were some rolls that had a sponge-like consistency and others that were just strong. Recommending staying away from the deep fried rolls. They may use a bit too much rice as well. The seafood for us was the big hit. Salt and pepper shrimp, jalapeno shrimp, cheese mussels and an amazing batch of crawdads. Not only did I fill my plate, I watched as a to-go shopper filled 2 to-go plates to the brim with them. Thats why I indulged as they have to be good if youre taking 5 pounds to-go. Deserts at a Chinese buffet are always a miss, so we skipped and went straight to the little to go ice cream bars to top it off. For 2 with tip we paid $44 in the middle of the day on Saturday. Can't beat that nowadays.

Still, there were an abundant variety of items. The thing that impressed me the most was their ramen-noodle bar! Think this was the first buffet place that had that. Also, they had an unusual assortment of dessert items. Guess the thing I didn't love was their sushi rolls. As tempting as they looked, they just didn't taste too fresh...but that's a given, in that I don't think I've ever had truly amazing sushi roll in any buffet place. The prices were still $30 a head. I don't think there was a time limit for how long you could stay then. Now it's $40 a head (which inflation.... I get it) with a two hour limit. My main issue is the ambiance is horrible!!! They painted the big wooden booths with this cheap sticky black paint that's slowly coming off. I was wearing shorts and it was PAINFUL if I got up too quickly. The lighting is cold and uncomfortable. It's not a welcoming place to dine anymore. A completely depressing environment. Everything looks like it's in disrepair and being very poorly maintained. The quality of the meats has gone down as well. The sides were not fresh. Especially the cucumbers. This is no hate to the staff but almost everyone that worked there seemed miserable as well. They did a great job but it just seemed like they all were sad for some reason. I truly think it's the environment. I would hate working at such a depressing restaurant. The staff were attentive and consistently checking on us. They never left us alone for too long! There was one guy with glasses that was exceptional. He was great with the small details of serving. Always pre bused something from the table every time he came by. If you're smart you will bump his hourly and make him a shift manager/ trainer. The staff is the reason I'm not giving one star. Korean culture is vibrant and fun! Please hang up some art work and posters. Hire someone to remove that god awful sticky paint! Which I know you can't clean properly. Change the lightbulbs to warm lighting. Put out some fun decor on the tops of the booths. Make your restaurant into a place people naturally feel happy to be at. Paint over that black wall in the back and fill it from top to bottom with Korean art work as an accent wall! Or put in giant decorative shelves with plants and collectible Korean toys. Zafran felt authentic, though authenticity can be a double-edged Khyber sword when you have no idea what you're ordering. Pictures of famous mosques and religious leaders covered the walls, while thick, clear plastic protected the Punjabi textiles on every table. The server and I struggled to communicate, and Google Translate proved about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. I asked about the Jarzamzam drink, but the only explanation I understood was that it cost too much for the staff to sample. Siri eventually entered the conversation and explained that it was water from a sacred well in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Next, I ordered the Lassi. In my mind, Lassi means a cold, sweet yogurt drink flavored with mango. This version arrived plain, salty, and lumpy. It was clearly homemade, but ordering it reminded me of navigating a tourist bar in Thailand: ask follow-up questions before choosing the mystery option. The Chicken Kabab consisted of two slender, tube-shaped portions of ground meat buried under shredded raw onion and served with just a cup of saffron rice. At $25, shrinkflation appears to have hit Zafran harder than an Uber Eats service fee. My previous Pakistani meals had delivered the exact opposite experience. Plates usually arrived with piles of pilaf and so many skewers, you'd have to approach your meal like it was an angry porcupine. I also wouldn't choose Zafran for a romantic dinner. The dining room is crowded and very rustic, rustic enough to make an interior designer collapse. Still, I would return with someone familiar with Pakistani food and the language being spoken. A knowledgeable dining partner might help uncover the treasure beneath the restaurant's gritty exterior and help identify the better choices and values.
