I finally went to try it out because I was curious but I will never go again. The buffet food is old and the place did not look clean at all. There are many other options for good Chinese food elsewhere. read more

This place has big selection of food to pick from and the price is worth it. To top it off the cashier was definitely helpful.

roaches on the floor and one on the dessert table. can't imagine what the rest of the place looks like that customers can't see. NEVER AGAIN

I was hoping for a lot more food options, but I did enjoy my meal for the price ($11/person for lunch) The dessert that was offered was very little/not very appealing. I did try some weird sponge cake squares with frosting on top(?) read more

Chinatown Buffet - House Special Chow Mein, Sesame Chicken, shrimp - Chinese Near Me - Indian Trail, North Carolina

They were other locations for Asian food in the area but they were delivery and take out only. As we walk to the front door we saw a sign that said we are clean. That was enough for me to eat at this location. We were immediately greed it at the door by young man well I learned later was named David. David walked us to our table gave us two plastic cooking gloves and asked what we would like to drink. The Buffet had plenty of food but not a large variety that I would've like to see. But they continue to bring out hot food, and David continue to clean around the Buffay table. He was very careful to bring everyone into the facility and sent them separately. However there was one couple with two children that entered and did not have a mask, and there was one Lady of that group that went to the Buffay table without her glove. I would've like to see that be in forced. Besides that small unclean family not coming to common decency about stairs and state mandates about mask, the food was delicious there was an equal amount of meats, salads and fruit and desserts. But I would've liked to have seen more vegetables on the Buffet. Can't beat the service though, our server was very kind and you could see (figuratively) the smile through her mask. She was very hospitable and courteous and concerned about our visit. I just didn't want to ruin the mood mentioning that family without the mask, because we were finishing our dinner. But I won't let that little incident stop me from coming back to this wonderful establishment with this great service and delicious food. Thank you for being open during this temporary season in America and the world. I will be back! read more

Chinatown Buffet - Front of restaurant. - Chinese Near Me - Indian Trail, North Carolina

I was hankering some oriental food and saw this small place. Unlike most restaurants, you pay after your meal, so I waltzed out and they had to stop me to pay. A minor inconvenience, but it did mean you got to eat first. I was pleased at the buffet. Everything was fresh. There were not many choices but all the familiar ones were there. The sweet sour chicken was excellent. Sometime it is too sweet. Many hot soups were offered and the day was rainy and cold. Not many desserts but I didn't miss any. Most of the diners were working guys in uniforms and boots. Men usually will not tolerate bad food so it was a plus seeing so many. Price under $13 for lunch without a tip. read more

The food was just ok and not much of a variety (we were there at lunchtime), service was great, and the ambiance was, well a lunchtime setting. read more

hot and muggy when walked in. daughter noticed roach on top cushion of back rest of my seat. immediately let waitress know and she killed it on the spot, then moved us to across the aisle. They tried to compensate money, but I was disgusted and we left. Where there is one roach there is many. read more

The food was hot and fresh and they give you plenty of food. The staff is very friendly.

The food on the buffet was dry and left out too long. The noodles were just plain without any type of vegetables in them. And they didn't have any flavor at all. Fried rice was dry without anything extra in them with not flavor. Fried meat were cold and hard. Even the ice cream was old! A total waste of time and money eating here! read more

Great service and the restaurant was nice, clean, etc. However, the food was sub-par overall

Service was great. My server was friendly and attentive. The food on the other hand could use some help. Most of the food was "ok" but subpar. The Crab Rangoons were crispy but the cream cheese filling was cold (solid). The general tso looked like soap. The sesame chicken had no sesame seeds. Lo mein was flavorless. Wontons were mushy. I could go on but I think you understand what I am getting at. read more

Great food, have been coming here since I was a 10 year old kid. Best shrimp in town and the service is impeccable! David would bring it out to the table as he knew we loved them! read more

Thank you for playing Christian music!! Amazing food and service. Truly enjoyed the Sunday buffet with my husband. And the price is right!! Thank you, may the Lord God bless you abundantly!! Hebrews 11 read more

Pretty good, even at 2:30 in the afternoon. There were fresh items being brought out to restock the steam tables. The usual staples of such things - beef and brocoli, battered chicken in a lemon sauce, lo mein noodles, fried rice and the like. As well, one bar dedicated to fried stuff, including french fries, onion rings, crab rangoon and spring rolls. I skipped that one. Dessert bar had some fruit and cake that looked like it wasn't worth the effort, but they have to try, right? Full meal, $6.99. $3 tip because the gal kept my water glass filled and cleared dirty plates quickly. I thought it was pretty good. Better than most. I was especially pleased that it was this good between the lunch and dinner crowds. read more

I really hate leaving such low rating reviews, but I need to be honest with my recent experience. Ordered takeout and the food was just blah. This is average American Chinese food, but done poorly. We ordered crab Rangoon, chicken wings, wonton soup, chicken lo mein and two dinner meals of General Tsos chicken & sweet & sour chicken which came with fried rice & egg rolls. Everything that was fried had an overly oily flavor. Almost like the oil wasn't hot enough so the items soaked up lots of oil before they cooked. The sweet & sour chicken I'm used to being softer, and my chicken was over cooked and crunchy when biting thru the outside batter. The fried rice was bland with little flavor and even less veggies/pork included. The wonton soup broth had an 'off' taste, and also was bland. I ordered a large sized soup and it only came with two wontons. Other places have given 4 or more for that size. The chicken wings were left out of the order, even though we paid for them, so i can't vouch for their quality. The Crab Rangoon & egg rolls had no flavor. Overall everything could've used more seasoning and been cooked better. Will not visit again. read more

We went here earlier this month for lunch with my friend and her husband. It was my first time. Based off the Yelp reviews I was surprised that there was not much of a selection. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Customer service was pretty good but I did go the last part of my meal without a drink refill. I'm not sure if I would come back because I've been to better buffets in the area. read more

A must-go after my kid's skating competitions. Fried chicken is super juicy and delicious. I enjoy the freshness of vegetables and the dish selection. It's not just the meat that shines. A rare find for a good Chinese buffet. read more

Great food! Good price! Great service! This is definitely a place that my wife and I go to often. A good meal when you're super hungry

I honestly love coming here!! Food is always good and hot!!! The staff are excellent!! Very clean and nice!! Definitely will return

It's a very nice restaurant clean and the service is friendly. The buffet itself is decent, there is a salad bar and dessert bar. And pretty much all the regulars you see at a chinese buffet. I tried the wonton soup which was adequate, lo Mein was good, fried dumplings, egg roll, sweet and sour chicken and potatoes everything was good. If you want a quick adequate chinese meal this is your spot. read more

Chinatown Buffet - a plate of food on a table - Chinese Near Me - Indian Trail, North Carolina

It was alright not the best Chinese food it ok a lot of food was cold and not that many options and just go somewhere else.

Price and food are both very good. Service is excellent too. Friendly and fast. If you are looking for good meal and for a reasonable price then this is a great choice. Would definitely come again. Also note that a lot of chicken dishes, a few beef, and seafood but 4 large tables of various items are always hot and fresh (soups, rice, noodle, desserts too)... read more

the carpeting is gross...... loaded with stains & smells horrible !!! i honestly don't think that nasty carpeting has ever been replaced !!! owner needs to remove it & replace with tile, which would be a much more sanitary & washable surface !!! read more

They're clean, they use PPE, and they have great customer service!! Their food is delicious and cheap, good portions, too - what more could you ask for? I love this place - it's absolutely one of my favorites! read more

This is a very nice establishment. The buffet menu and price are reasonable. Above all, their customer service is excellent. I am a vegetarian and they only had a chicken fried rice option on the day I visited. I was bummed and asked if there was a vegetarian fried rice option. They immediately made me a plate of fried rice and added a plate of vegetable stir fry which made my experience so much better. I was so grateful. They are awesome and I highly recommend this place if you're craving some Chinese food!! read more

Chinatown Buffet is located in Indian Trail next to Genarros in the same plaza as Walmart. The restaurant is extremely basic as far as the buffet items. However, on a busy work day I do not find this to always be such a bad thing. With that said it makes it very easy to get in and out of there and leave full. For dinner on the other hand, not so much. The great thing about having a smaller buffet as they do is that the food seems to always be fresh. read more

Small restaurant with good tasty food and nice quality selection. Very clean dining room and counters. My mom commented that all the fans were clean which is a good sign of cleanliness. Servers were very nice with lots of smiles. Also the music played was positive and uplifting (K-Love!). I will return to eat here again. read more

After leaving Walmart myself my wife and two children decided to stop in for some Chinese food it was not that good and there was not that much to choose from. Judging from the other reviews I'm assuming that we just came at a bad time because the food was hard and cold! I'm giving them two stars because the egg drop soup was pretty good. read more

Been coming here for 13 years today the food was having trouble keeping up with guests we were waiting for 45 mins Every time chicken came out it was taken the rest of my family ate and was ready to go I asked if chicken was coming was told yes but when it came it was all taken because so little was prepared I couldn't wait any longer so I tried explaining this to the owner I would have easily taken some to go if some was coming and they were agreeable but i didnt even get to finish speaking to which I was screamed at accused of not paying when i never have not paid there were so many people present not to mention my own children I will never return here. People were staring I even mentioned several times that I have came there for a long time and they must have me confused with someone else I do know there were language barriers here and feel i must admit that but They never apologized even when the bill was fully paid when I asked the owner about the apology the waitress said just go then got in my face touched my shoulder waved in my face and said very loudly bye have a nice day. I dont think im wrong in saying this went way beyond to far especially when she touched my person; It did not feel comforting even though it was performed in a way that appeared she was trying to do so read more

Mediocre at best. The buffet is extremely limited, with 75% of the dishes being chicken of some sort. The General Tso's chicken was sickeningly sweet (when it is instead supposed to be spicy), the Hawaiian and Pepper Chicken were grisly. The sushi tasted as if it had been frozen and thawed. The Rangoon was tasty but mostly cheese and not much crab. The egg rolls somehow tasted burnt. Even the obviously premade cakes were somehow stale and hard. The only redeeming quality was the staff who were very nice and attentive. Will not return. read more

We've taken the family multiple times, it's not bad. No to the wonton soup, the wontons are soggy. The garlicky green beans are awesome & General Tso's chicken is good. We always enjoy it, remember: it's a buffet. read more

Ok, just your typical cihinese buffet. Stop by for lunch on a saturday afternoon. With all the 4-star ratings I was expecting better. this is just average. read more

If I could leave negative Stars I would. The Waitresses here are always rude which is why I almost didn't even consider coming back but I was in a hurry and this place is close by. After I asked two different people if they were going to put out any fresh food with vegetables in it, and waiting 20 minutes, nothing was put out, everything was old, dried-out and gross and the waitress didn't even remember to bring me a drink until halfway through my meal. I spoke to the manager about it and he still charged me full price and didn't even apologize. It was only 7 p.m. Not like when it's close to closing time and they aren't putting much out to avoid waste. Worst Chinese food on the planet. Horrible staff. Horrible management. And overpriced even if they had put out fresh food. There is absolutely nothing good about this place. read more

I don't know why we went back. I guess i was hoping it was better now...Boy was i wrong. Its was more awful then the last time i went. Everything tastes the same no matter what i tried. Chicken wings were ok those only had to be deep fried. Everything else was just bad, i tried a sugar doughnut and it was hard. Trust me people save your money and find a better place. Two strikes and they are outta here. read more
