5. Chicken and Shrimp Broccoli Combo Special

Good food! Quick service! Will definitely go here again and be a regular. Small area so there's no seating.

Fortune Cookie II is my neighborhood Chinese restaurant. They are always there for me when I need some quick delicious take out. They are consistent, fast and they even remember my normal order. I've been coming here for years and have tried several things on the menu. My staples are Chicken in Garlic Sauce with Broccoli combo with fried rice and egg roll, Crispy Scallion Chicken combo with fried rice and egg roll, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Wings, Singapore Curry Noodles and their Chili Garlic Oil. Their portions are amazing. We always have enough food for our family of 6 and some for leftovers. The food is good as leftovers also. After eating from Fortune Cookie II you will hate all over Chinese restaurants. They are serving superior Chinese take out and I'm so glad they are close to home! House fried rice, spring roll.

First time buying food from Fortune Cookie (7.31.20). Ordered the following items: House fried rice, cheese wontons, spring rolls and then a fried chicken wing and fried rice plate. Good - Food flavor is good and this is the first Chinese restaurant in Charlotte that actually puts bean sprouts in their fried rice. Unlike other Asian restaurants in the area the prices are reasonable for most items. Bad - They cheat you with the chicken wings. They say that 6 wings come with the order but they really only give you 3 wings and cut them in half. That is what turned a 3 star review into a 2 star review. Not cool! People are paying for 6 wings they should receive 6 whole wings not 3 wings cut in half. DONT CHEAT YOUR CUSTOMERS. Will return and buy other things but not the wings.

Fast delivery !! The food arrived about 10 mins or less after we ordered. Granted, we don't live far but still. We opted to just order from the restaurant than Postmates cause they take centuries. We heard a knock on our door and low and behold: food!! I ordered General chicken with lo mein noodle substitute & a piece of crab Rangoon. The noodles were not dry (thank goodness) and the chicken was lightly breaded if it was breaded at all. It's visible pieces of chicken. If you've had Chinese food, you know what I mean... My bf got the egg foo young with white rice. Listen, you get so much egg!!! No, you get so much food in general! I will try them out again. Def recommend!

Really good food at a good price. Really enjoy their Chef's Special Egg Foo Young. Egg drop soup and egg rolls are really good as well.

Great spicy sesame chicken. Lots of food for a pretty cheap price. Fast service is a plus too. My go to spot for Chinese.

Do they deliver?

Yes they deliver but within a certain mile/distance and a minimum amount is required. I live about 5 miles away and usually spend about $15. Don't know the exact distance. Hope this helps.

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. It unfortunately was quite bland, big chunks, & not crispy. Fried rice/ super bland, no additions except peas. I was unable to finish the rice due to blandness even with soy sauce. Great ambiance and staff- foods just not for me.

It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.

The fried rice and stir-fried okra together are amazing. Food is always good!…read more The ambiance is outdated but the service is exceptional.

It was our first visit and we wanted to try the curry. We ordered the Thai Red Curry and the Thai Green Curry. Both were perfection! The red curry had just the right amount of spice to give it flavor, but not be too spicy hot. The green was mild, but flavorful. The dumplings were so good. These were both very good and we added shrimp and chicken. I believe they would be just a satisfying with only the vegetables. This is my go to place for Asian noodle dishes from now on...can't wait to sample more of the menu on my next visit.

They genuinely did not taste like chicken at all, and I couldn't even finish them. I strongly recommend staying away from that item. I also tried to order a bubble tea without ice and was told I'd be charged an extra $2 because they would need to "add more juice." I didn't ask for extra juice, just no ice!!! And charging extra for that feels unreasonable and borderline price gouging. Ridiculous!!!! Between the poor food quality and the frustrating service, the overall experience wasn't great, and I won't be returning.
