Tostones
Marissa L.

Wow I can't believe I've never been here. I don't live far either. I came across it online. Saw the menu and was blown away. Asian and Latin mix? What a beautiful combo. My husband is half Puerto Rican and when we saw Puerto Rican dishes on the menu we knew it was a must try. Threw me off that it was inside of a gas station but it's definitely a hidden gem. Everything was so tasty and the portions are hefty. We bought 2 orders of tostones thinking one wouldn't be enough but one order is definitely enough they are Huge. I make mine crispier but they were still good. The chicken and teriyaki with fried rice was so fulfilling. Again bigger than expected. The plantains were delightful and those Latin wontons...amazing. This place was a hit with the family. Will be a returning customer :)

Birria Eggrolls (3) to order

This is my first time trying this place! I got the new birria egg rolls, I was surprised when I first saw how big they were. You can choose from 1 to 3 egg rolls I of course went with 3. Anyways, the consome was packed with flavor, the meat could use a little bit more seasoning but other than that these are a hit!! I got full off of 2. I say try these out you won't regret it :))

Amazing food, great customer service. The food is delicious and good price! It is a good fusion of Puerto Rican and Chinese.

Disgusting food horrible sauces. Thousand Island dressing for an egg roll? Come on. Hispanic chefs serving oriental is a no go for me.

It's a stone's throw from Toyota Field and Morgan's Wonderland, inside the convenience store at the Chevron gas station. Shaunda grew up cooking with grandma, a Panamanian-Jamaican influence. Please be patient as the great food takes time. She won first place on Food Network's cupcake wars and a graduate of CIA San Antonio. We tried everything on today's menu (see photo). Most flavorful were the oxtail, Arroz con Pollo, Empanada, and Panamanian Tamal. The chicken in the Pollo and Tamal was so moist. No surprise that Shaunda brines the chicken! The Patacones and Yucca Fries were great with Panamanian ketchup. She didn't have dessert today, but I look forward to trying the rum cake. Please stop by and support her business. There is limited seating. It was great running into James and Ryan, who also saw the post.

The owner operator, Shonda, gave this dream a second chance when she moved it from her We tried a couple of things and we're pleased with the product. It's simple and humble but the entrees were generous and delicious. I tried the bistec encebollada, the think steak was flavorful and cooked just right. It was covered with grilled onions and peppers and served over a generous helping of arroz con guandupes. The entree also came with a side of tostones. It was really good. Liz got a small portion of the ceviche, which she really enjoyed. The kids enjoyed a helping of arroz con pollo. And there was plenty leftover to feed all of us the next day. Keep in mind that the pop up is set in the back of a convenience store, so there's not much seating, and only the parking around the gas station and the surrounding areas (Toyota Field, Morgan's Wonderland, etc). Plan for pre order and take out for expectations sake. I'm sure Shonda will get better the longer she goes at it, but for now it's just her and her fabulous food. We recommended some ideas to get the post game crowd to get some quick to go snacks (like a Panamanian tamale, tostones, etc.) Next time I will try the ropa viejas, Panamanian tamale, or the chicharron...there's plenty to try, actually. We'll be back.

Absolutely delicious!…read more I've been to EDA once before and have been craving their empanadas ever since! Much like last time, there seemed to be only one person running the shop, the place was sparkling clean (including the restrooms), and there was ample seating in the dining area. The music was a little too loud, especially so in the bathroom, but otherwise the café was so nice. The menu is chock-full of delicious sounding dishes and boba drinks, but I opted for two of their ready to go empanadas. I had the Beef & Cheese, and the Chicken Salteña Empanadas. Both were super yummy and neither the beef nor chicken was dry inside. The fillings were savory, the Beef & Cheese amazingly creamy, and the Chicken Salteña a good blend of spices. The raisins in the Salteña did throw me off for a moment as I didn't think they worked all too well with the rest of the texture of the filling, but it didn't detract too much from the empanada. The dipping sauce that they came with was so tasty and flavorful as well! I was only able to finish half of each empanada because they were so big, but the server was kind enough to give me extra sauce with my to-go box. It added another layer of tastiness to the experience! EDA is a little out of the way for me so I'm not able to go as much as I'd like, but I know I'll be stopping in to snag an empanada or a boba tea when I'm in the area. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!
