    Before Dr. Sofa disassembly/reassembly

I am the homeowner. I paid Dreamsofa upfront for the service to be performed by Dr Sofa. This included an additional fee for both sofas to be carried up the stairs. At no time was I belligerent with the two people who came to my home to do the work. I left them alone to do their work. And I thought they did a good job and was very happy until I saw the front of the sofa the next day when I went to install the bases. It is not a "slight pull" - how can you look at the image I shared and say that with clear conscious? But to tell me afterwards that I had to pay even more money for services I wasn't aware of and for Dr Sofas negligence???? No, I did not ask for Dr Sofa to return and put the bases on for free. I didn't even want Dr Sofa to come back because the most troubling part of this entire situation was they hid the seam from me, and this is neither good quality or honest reputable service....

I think this same Dr. Sofa company is listed twice - once for a location in Brooklyn, and the other in New Jersey. I believe there's only one Dr. Sofa (it's a trademarked name) so I'm writing my review here. I had a bad feeling my sofa wouldn't fit up the common stairs at my new place in DC so I called Dr. Sofa ahead of time, sent photos of the sofa, the DC address, the hallway. The very nice customer service rep said they could do it, not a problem if it couldn't fit in. On Monday the sofa arrived, and it couldn't fit! The movers left it in the small hallway of the entrance to the building. I called the Dr. Sofa customer service rep, he said he'd be back to me in an hour. After a few hours when I didn't hear back, I called him and emailed. He responded by email that's he's working on it for Tuesday, and that they're in New Jersey, not DC, so it wasn't possible to come that day. I asked him to please let me know one way or another if they could come this week because otherwise, I'd need to get it removed from the hallway before Christmas since it is disturbing my neighbors. Today is Thursday. It has been a stressful few days with the sofa in the hallway and my trying to find alternatives to move it out to short-term storage if necessary (which with moving cost minimums/van rentals would cost almost as much as the sofa!). I had to change travel plans because I couldn't leave it... Lots of hassle (privileged people problems, I realize!) I finally heard back by email today (after calling and calling and emailing them) with an estimate of the amount to disassemble/assemble the sofa but no number to call to discuss the details and no potential date of service. So as I write this, after calling about 15 different movers and furniture repair places, I found a local person who had not advertised to do this work, but is currently here doing his best to help take it apart and get it out of the hallway and into my apartment. I'm really disappointed that I wasted my time and counted on someone from Dr. Sofa to keep me updated. I realize this is the holidays and COVID, so hopefully, their customer service will be more responsive in the future and keep potential customers updated. It's a greatly needed service!

    Damage to corner of couch
    Greer M.

I am really really upset about my recent experience with Dr. Sofa and the damage they have caused to my leather couch at such an incredibly high price point. I booked their services earlier this month to move a couch they had previously put together for us in 2019 and done a great careful job on. My original quote was $980 including moving and the charges for moving between two walkups. On moving day, they charged an additional $175 for two cuts they needed to make to the couch (a lot of money, but I figured that that's just what good work costs). Then, I got my credit card just got charged for $1,500 -- even MORE money than the $1330 I had agreed to. It would be one thing if they provided high quality service, but I was heartbroken to see they had extensively damaged my leather couch (I had my car double parked when they were doing the final installation, so only saw the damage afterwards). All of the corners have extremely visible damage and wear to the leather -- I'm attaching two illustrative pictures. The whole job took less than 2 hours, including moving, and it is clear that adequate care was simply not taken. I have reached out the company for a price adjustment, with no response.

Completed work....thank you Ever and Vinny!

Emergency!! After weeks of delays my Pottery Barn 3 piece sectional arrives and not one piece fits through my basement doorway. The delivery guys suggested Dr. Sofa and they were amazing from the initial phone call all the way up until the work was completed. Ever and Vinny arrived that day...only a few hours later and did some sofa surgery magic! They were quick efficient and super professional. The sofa looks perfect and does not have a stitch out of place. I could not be more amazed! Thank you so much for saving the day...and my sanity! I could not be more grateful!

Very professional. Technicians were experts, though not exactly prompt. Overall, not sure what I would have done without them.

DAS Furniture Assembly & Installation - Custom Shelving by DAS

White-Glove Service from Start to Finish!…read more We had an excellent experience with DAS Furniture Assembly & Installation, and I can't recommend them highly enough. They built custom shelving for a built-in storage closet used to support heavy glassware and china for events and hosting. From the very beginning, Dean, the owner, stood out immediately. While several handyman companies responded to my inquiry, Dean was the only one who offered a complimentary site visit so his team could fully understand the scope of the project and take precise measurements of the existing shelving. That alone gave me confidence that DAS would take our project seriously. Dean was extremely responsive and communicative every step of the way. After the site visit, the quote we received felt thoughtful, fair, and clearly tailored to our needs, not a generic estimate. As the workplace coordinator, I truly appreciated how easy it was to coordinate details like insurance, loading dock access, and a very specific installation timeline. DAS worked seamlessly with our schedule and completed the entire project within a week, at a time that minimized disruption to the office. The quote, invoice, and payment process were all clear, straightforward, and professional, which made everything stress-free. While a member of the DAS team handled the consultation, Dean himself came on installation day, completed the work, cleaned as he went, and even disposed of the old shelving. The attention to detail and care taken with our office space really reflected a white-glove level of service. Dean is friendly, professional, clearly very experienced, and it's obvious from speaking to him that DAS handles a wide range of office logistics and setup projects with skill and pride. The finished shelving is sturdy, beautifully done, and exactly what we needed. Outstanding experience from start to finish! I'll absolutely be using DAS again for future projects and recommend them without hesitation. Thank you Dean and team for making my job easier and delivering such high-quality results!

I reached out to Eric, the owner, and pretty much a half hearted apology but essentially told I was shit out of luck. If they are putting hardware on your PAX system, I would be careful, they might ruin your doors Here is my story IDA Flatpack were super accommodating to send someone on Friday evening to assemble my PAX after Ikea screwed me over by not delivering that Thursday. Unfortunately he forgot his stencil or something to assist him with putting the handles on the door, so requested to come back Sunday to finish the job. Not a problem. On Saturday my husband and I level our closet, and place the PAX exactly where we wish it to go in the room Sunday, Nate comes and puts the handles on. I go to check the handles, and they are obvious to the naked eye they are uneven. I tell Nate and he tried to square up the doors. At the ends, even with his best efforts, something was off, but he told us unless he drilled new holes, that was the best he could do. After Nate left, we discovered that he had moved our PAX a few inches over, I'm not sure why. All the work my husband and I went through to level and ensure the closet was correct was for nothing, it took us another half hour / hour after Nate left to square the closet (now with clothing), it was a total waste of time. I am most displeased with how the handles look, from the outside and inside. I am attaching pictures so you can see what looks to be a mess from both the outside of the closet and the inside. The outside you can the screws, and the inside of the closets looks like the hole was drilled several times because he couldn't get the right placement. I am highly disappointed at this. The doors are ruined. I expected much more professional work from someone who does this all the time. If I had known this would be the result, I would not have let him near the handles of the PAX. Nate was pleasant and great, but his work at the end really did not hold up for what I think you would expect when you send someone out to do a job.

I had originally called the couch doctor and received a quote for anywhere between $375 and $750. My communication with the owner didn't feel good.
