I had all four of my dining room chairs completely reupholstered + re-stained recently and cannot say enough good things about John and his team! John came to my apartment with different swatch cards so I could hand choose my new leather. He had many different articles / colors to choose from. The service was great and quick. I received my chairs in just under 2 weeks! Completely love how the chairs turned out. Would highly recommend! read more

Exceptional service from start to finish. I had the foam inserts in my couch cushions redone, and I got them back in under 24 hours. I went with medium-to-firm foam, and it's absolutely perfect: supportive, comfortable, and perfectly fitted, with no more sagging. The team was communicative and professional, and I'm completely in love with my couch all over again. If you're thinking about restoring instead of replacing, don't hesitate. I'll definitely be back! read more

These guys did an amazing job on a couch that was in bad shape -- broken springs, no padding, upholstery stained and awful. Honestly, I thought the only thing to be done with this couch was to throw it away. But in THREE days, these guys removed the upholstery, sewed new upholstery, then applied it. The couch looks completely new -- probably better than when we bought it. Is super comfortable and looks great. Would highly recommend Stylish Decorators. read more

First of all, Jon is wonderful to work with, experienced, easygoing and accommodating. He promised me a great reupholstery project, and he delivered. My couch was totally reupholstered in 2019, but I was never happy with how the seat looked when sat upon! He removed the seat fabric, completely retooled the seat's padding and recovered it; obviously the fabric was in great shape. It is exactly what I wanted. AND he was able to bring the job to my living room; it was fine in one day. So happy with the nice change and the work. In fact, just thought of another project for Jon and his crew! read more

Jon is terrific and a true craftsman. I had a bench seat that was stained and ready for the garbage. Jon made good suggestions as to fabric type and cushion padding. True to his word the job was done perfectly and in less than a week. I will definitely call him again and recommend to my friends and family. It is a pleasure doing business with an honest craftsman! Thank you Jon!! read more

Jon was great to work with on my project! Quick, helpful and great results for my bench cushions.

My four sofa cushions were expertly refurbished by Stylish Decorators. Jon was super nice, extremely responsive, and a pleasure to work with. I work in customer facing retail so I am highly sensitive when I am on the other side as the retail customer -- Jon was great in every aspect of our transaction. read more

I am delighted! Jon is a true craftsman. He was very easy to work with when I first put out a bid, helping to explain my options and recommending the amount of fabric that either he or I could supply as well as styles of cushion and so forth. (The project was reupholstering a bench for my front entryway and replacing the cushion as well.) He works swiftly, to my pleasant surprise. I appreciated the option for pick up and drop off (for a reasonable fee) in Manhattan although was able to take the 2 train to drop off and pick up the bench at his shop in the Bronx. I wish I knew of his services before ditching our old beloved and overly worn sofa two years ago and buying a new one. Now, I very much look forward to working with Jon again...probably once the big LaZBoy that was my grandpa's and has sentimental value to us needs to be reupholstered later this year. I appreciate how Jon wrapped the bench for transport and returned the nominal amount of extra fabric as well. read more

I am happy beyond words!! My husband knows the difference. He said this is an outstanding craftsmanship!! It took me a long time to reupholster my dining chairs because I was afraid that someone would do a lousy job. 2 days ago, I decided not to sit on this project anymore. I went on Angi and Yelp and found Stylish Decorators. Jon, the owner, gained my confidence before we even met. I could tell that he is a very experienced, honest and responsible person. He picked up my chairs on Wednesday and delivered back to me this morning (Friday). Look at his work!!! I am in tears!!! This usually takes about a week. I asked if he could rush for me. He said he couldn't promise but he would try read more

I cannot recommend Jon highly enough. I contacted over half a dozen reupholsters and was shocked by the prices that they were quoting me- they were insanely high! And then I found Jon. Not only were his prices incredibly reasonable, but he is such a nice guy and so easy to work with. I was very nervous about getting my furniture done and he put me at ease right away and showed me some of the beautiful work he's done for some very high end customers. I had him reupholster a sofa and a loveseat and they came out perfect. Don't hesitate to work with him, you won't regret it. read more

Jon took my miserable but sturdy wood chairs, added comfortable cushions and beautiful vinyl covers and perfectly matched them to my loveseat. Jon's turnaround was lightning fast and he communicates clearly and effectively and is punctual. This guy is an old-school pro and a pleasure to do business with. Book him fast. He's in demand. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars! I had never had anything upholstered before and was nervous to have my beloved wreck of a chair fixed. Jon was easy to deal with and once I met him I knew I made the right choice and that my chair was in good hands. Jon was patient with me thru a fabric fiasco (of my making) that caused delays in getting fabric to him and once he had the material, very fast in the turnaround. I couldn't be more delighted with my chair! It is beyond my expectations and absolutely beautiful. I am attaching a before and after photo. If wish every home project was this pleasant and successful. You can stop right here if you are looking for an upholsterer. Do not call anyone else but Jon at Stylish Decorators. read more

The worst business the owner cannot be trusted. Do not use this business. Lies about materials and does not stand by his shoddy workmanship

Jon did an amazing job reupholstering an antique couch. I hated the piece before he took it away and now I love it! He did beautiful work, charged a reasonable price and was fast. Total time lapse from ordering the fabric to returning the finished couch was less than 3 weeks. read more

I have been using Jon Peloso/Stylish Decorators for over 30 years now and have always been 100% satisfied. He has an assortment of fabrics and will always be honest and tell you if he thinks a fabric is not the right for the piece you are having him work on. I am a believer if you like the furniture and it has good bones re-do don't throw it away. My dining room chairs, living room couch and chairs and spare room sectional have all been done numerous times. Recently I had a fire in my home after having had some pieces recently done. He re-did the sofa at almost cost after the fire. I too find it hard to understand why anyone would give him less than 5 stars! All my friends use him as well! And he has artisans that re-do old wood furniture and makes it look like new. read more

Jon and his assistants (especially Higgins) are wonderful. The workmanship and customer service are first rate, but the prices are reasonable...very reasonable. They've restored a 90 year old bedroom set. It looks like new. They restored a desk that converts into a 9 foot dining table. It looks perfect and works perfectly. They've restored an antique home bar, chair, and inlaid end table. Really excellent work! I'm happy to recommend them. It helps a lot that Jon is so friendly while being 100% on top of the business aspects. I have not one criticism!! Call them!!! read more

Beware of this place they will throw your stuff away and then tell you it was junk. Then when you ask for your stuff the employees ignore you and then the owner says they dont know what happened. I FOUND one of my items on the sidewalk as trash !!! AVOID this place or make sure you have everything they tell you in writing or you might end up with a table and no chairs... read more

I searched high and low for a decent upholsterer to re-do the 11 cushions on my sectional sofa. Everyone I contacted gave me quotes that were exorbitant. Then friends told us about Stylish Decorators, Jon Peloso, and his quote came in at half price than his competitors. He is such an honorable man, I sent him pictures of my sofa, and he stuck by his original quote to me without ever even seeing the sofa. He picked up and delivered the cushions and completed the job in 5 days. Most importantly, the upholstery work is 100% perfectly done. A real professional. I have told everyone about Stylish Decorators. read more

Saviour! Recent assignments given to him include reupholster two side chairs. The front to match the sofa fabric and the back a fun complimentary pattern. The decorator who helped me chose the fabrics suggesting a contra color for the trim (?) to stand out. We looked at fabrics and chose one that looks good next to the primary fabric. Fortunately I had asked John for his opinion when I showed him my fabric selections. Respectfully he suggested alternative choices and he offered to send me a photo of how each option would look on the chair before the trim was applied. My trim selection looked wrong and his option looks stunning. Furthermore, he rebuilt the entire chair even though I simply asked to replace the foam. He wanted to give me a 100% quality chair to last for a long time. The second assignment was to add foam to the cushions of my sofa and a big chair that he had upholstered for me around 15 years ago. Little did I realize how significant a difference the new foam would make for my furniture. Very happy with his work, his professional and kind approach, and the turn around time on the assignments that I gave him. Thank you! read more
