After Sunday Power Pilates with Andrew ~
Julie S.

5 am with Andrew rules! He's such a gifted teacher, like he was born to do this, his passion for teaching is obvious ~ he's just so damn good. I feel very lucky to be able to take his classes. He's next level ~ if you haven't taken his classes, treat yourself. I guarantee you will feel awesome and taken care of. Andrew really gives each of us the personal attention we need to push ourselves. He's so kind and encouraging but he also has this way of making you want to go for it. I can't say enough great things about him. #stellar PS and if you are a newbie, no worries, I was a mess when I took my first class in January and Andrew was so helpful and while I still have a long way to go, I'm really pushing myself now thanks to him. It's a very welcoming space and everyone is so gracious and kind.

I've worked out here before and enjoyed my class. The instructor was informative and also friendly. I would recommend this location for Pilates if that is what you are into.

This is an amazing new Pilates studio in La Mesa. I took a class with Maria and she was fabulous. She pushed me but always made sure I was moving safety. My legs were jello afterwards but so excited to take another class with her! Great work out! Also this studio is so clean! The hygiene is so appreciated. The front staff made sure all the reformers are cleaned after classes. Just know you wait outside and are let in/checked in 5mins before class.

What are the vibes of the classes? Is it high energy? Loud music? Or is it more mellow? Or does it depend on the type of class you are taking?

$14 and up - we carry several different brands and styles.

Do you have a Spanish speaking teacher ? I would love to bring my mom in for a class but she only understands Spanish

Hi Daisy! We would love to have your Mom in class. Our instructor, Brenda speaks Spanish. She could come take Brenda's class! Please let us know if you have any other questions for us!

Although they were really big on making sure you have grippy socks (I think they left two VMs about it and texted twice), other than that, it was pretty seamless: I signed up, showed up, and they did not try to sell me on anything. I took the class, and they did a 2 minute speal after, but they let everyone leave when it was over, and there was no pressure to buy a package, which I really appreciated. In sum, the study is very clean, the instructor was very nice, and I really enjoyed the class. If I didn't have access to free pilates, I might be interested.

I've seen real gains in strength and mobility, and classes feel accessible for all ages and experience levels. Highly recommend either location. I've heard great things about almost every instructor, but these are the ones I've taken most and would recommend 10x over: Tracy F. - Warm, funny, and welcoming. I've taken 150+ of her classes and they're always fun, varied, and challenging. She creates a supportive environment, encourages growth, and keeps things fresh each week. Her TRX class is one of my all-time favorites. Anel - My first-ever Pilates instructor and a big reason I stuck with it. She teaches a more classical style and clearly explains form and function, which built my confidence early on. Consistent warmups, always-changing flows, and uplifting energy that carries you through class. Jenni G. - A newer instructor to me and now a weekly favorite. She's super attentive (always remembers my lower back issue), offers great modifications, and gives cues that just click. Her flow and TRX classes are fun, challenging, and set to great music. A great pick for beginners or anyone leveling up. Stacy C. - Somehow both challenging and calming. She has a peaceful, encouraging presence and checks in with everyone during class with gentle corrections and praise. I love how she weaves in anatomy and form education--her classes fill up for a reason. Jade (Front Desk - La Mesa) - Truly deserves a shout-out. She keeps the studio welcoming, remembers everyone by name, celebrates milestones, and handles hiccups during classes with total grace. Her seasonal decorations and positive energy make La Mesa feel special.

NXPT La Mesa - Hyrox agenda for Wednesday night 6:30-7:30

The La Mesa location is especially impressive--it has a full gym space for bootcamps, HYROX training, WODs, and more, plus a dedicated spin room and a yoga room. Whether you're training for a specific event or just looking to get your body moving and stay consistent, NXPT has everything you need. If you want great energy, variety, and results, this is the place to be

I had been looking for Spartan prep classes and had heard all over Facebook groups that this NXPT…read moreis the place to go for this type of training classes. It's a little far from me in the South Bay but I knew I had to try it. For parking, the lot is shared with other businesses so when I got there, it was full and parked in the lot down the street. I wouldn't suggest to park in front of the NXPT if it's the games classes since we're using wall balls near cars. When I found the class on classpass for Wednesday night, the name of it was a little confusing because it said "OCR/Games/Hyrox/Deka" so I didn't really know what that meant until I showed up to the class to learn that depending on when the next event is, that is the type of training they're doing. So my class focused on the Hyrox because the Anaheim event is in five weeks. Hannibal is the trainer and he was friendly with a quick introduction and had to jump on a call before class started. I asked around to sign the waiver and got someone to help me. I wanted to make sure that didn't slow me down starting the class on time. Thankfully I do strength training and hot yoga outside of this class so I felt I could keep up but having been to new classes before, they seem to take care of newbies with just a few more instructions. I ended up figuring it out and maybe the style of this gym is no hand holding but I ended up asking other attendees in the class about the structure. Most of the moves in this class were standard but when it came to Sled, I wasn't sure in my form. I'd suggest when they get newbies in these games classes to ask them if they've done anything like this before and if not, show them the proper technique of the moves. That helps in the actual events since form matters and also prevents injuries. Overall, it was a good experience and I'll be back!

As an electrician, I spend hours a day crawling through attics doing the same motions over and over. For years I figured the stiffness and random aches were just "part of getting older." Then I started coming to San Diego Yoga Center, and it has completely changed things. I'm more flexible, but also healthier, more energized, and a bit lighter too. The Bikram class is still a challenge, but now it's something I actually need. I even hunt down Bikram classes when I travel. What keeps me coming back, though, is the people. The teachers are genuinely funny, which makes a tough 90 minutes fly by, but they never lose the structure of the class. You get the laughs and the workout. The community is welcoming and supportive, and it's a big part of why I've stuck with it for years. Can't recommend this place enough!

It's as if a water station is not a normal thing at a work out studio so I don't understand the attitude in the response. They probably wanted me to buy their water which I can understand, however it was the attitude given to me that bothered me. I took a break outside of the class and there were other girls outside taking a break as well, indicating that they had empty water bottles and the heat was too much for them but they didn't have any water. I gave more stars than I wanted because of the instructor, Sam. She was so nice and accommodating and I loved her energy. She checked in on the people taking breaks, I appreciated her teaching the class!
