I spent a lot of time researching companies because I wanted a local, family-owned business with an excellent reputation that was also affordable. Marty gave me the estimate and was right on time, which immediately gave me confidence in choosing Reilly Insulation in Willow Grove. Mike and Colin did the installation, and they were punctual, professional, meticulous, and took great pride in making sure everything was done correctly. They kept the work area clean, explained what they were doing, and I felt completely confident that my home was in good hands. I'm also planning to have them do my crawlspace encapsulation because SO much freezing cold air comes in through the floor and crawlspace in the winter. It's great to know they do spray foam as well as other applications, so I can trust them with more than one project. If you're considering attic insulation, I highly recommend supporting this outstanding local company. They earned my trust, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Five stars all the way. Thank you, Mike, Colin, Marty, and everyone at Reilly Insulation!

I know it's like a joke getting contactors in but it's not terribly funny when it happens to you. The quality of the work was 5 stars. no ifs ands or buts. hole fixed, ceiling painted no fuss no muss no mess. It looks great. The office paperwork side was less so. it was a 2 maybe a 3. It was hard to get an estimate, e-mails sent were apparently missed, the office staff was disorganized- and I'm being polite. it was disorganized to the point I felt like they didn't want my business. and setting a date for the work was only marginally less stressful than Noah booking seats on the ark. When the workmen showed up, they had no work order, I got no receipt or anything at all, and they barely spoke English leading to a few misunderstandings. So the work was absolutely first rate but my God, it was a challenge getting it going.

This is a second review for Alligood Energy. On my first review (about a year ago), I had…read moreinsulation blown into my ceiling. I saw a big difference in the warmth of my second floor, but my rooms were still drafty. Mainly because the walls needed to be insulated as well. Really getting tried of a cold drafty house, I decided to bite the bullet and give Alligood Energy another call. Andrew answered! He saw that I was a repeat customer and remembered me and my home. He didn't have to come back a second time to give me a price and honored the quote he gave from last year and even gave me a discount for being a repeat customer! We made a date for the installation into the walls. The problem with having this project done in the winter is contingent on the weather. The temperature has to be above freezing so the foam insulation can flow. This particular day we were good to go and something happened to their equipment and unfortunately the work had to be postponed. I was real disappointed because we had moved furniture and had to clear out any closets that was connected to an outside wall. Andrew was great! He sincerely apologized, put me as a top priority (making sure I was first on his list when the equipment got fixed) and gave me and additional discount for my inconvenience! He called in a few days to let me know everything was fixed. They came out the next day first thing in the morning. They laid down plastic over all my furniture. Moved anything that still needed to be moved. Like I referenced in my first review, they had to put nickel size holes in all the walls that were getting the insulation blown in. They were all moving ( 4 men) like a well oiled machine. It took exactly 3 hours for them to finish my 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen walls. Even moved and got behind my dishwasher. They went back and plastered all the holes that they made. They also took up all the plastic and cleaned up after themselves. Now we just have to paint :( My home is much warmer now and hopefully more cool in the summer with the air conditioner. I highly recommend this company because their prices are fair, they are respectful of your home, they communicate well with their customers and are friendly and very professional.

This was the first estimate I ever paid for but it saved us thousands. We had Alligood do an…read moreassessment in order to quote us a price to insulate and spray foam a 1960s house. What we got from the estimate was a thorough review (including a thermal imager) of our house and a lot of pointers where we could make cheap improvements (such as sealing cinder block in the basement). He also noted that many of our main and lower level walls were too thin to really make spray foam air sealing worthwhile (and that many weren't losing much heat at all). In the end, we insulated our attic and air sealed the upstairs walls at a much lower price. The job was done well, and the difference in temperature was day and night. There were a lot of holes to patch (and the patch work they did left some to be desired) but it was worth it. The only reason for knocking a star off was the work was subcontracted, with nobody telling us up front that would be the case. I would just prefer to know if the guys selling the product are with the same company doing the work.

From the owner: McGlaughlin Insulation specializes in polyurethane spray foam and cellulose insulation…read more Polyurethane spray foam is a spray-applied cellular plastic, which, when properly installed, can fill hard to reach areas with seamless coverage, providing protection from water and rodent damage. As a higher R-value insulation, spray foam gives more insulation with less thickness then other types of insulation and comes in two types: closed-cell and open-cell. Closed-cell polyurethane spray foam, with its compact cell structure, is effective as an air and water-vapor barrier and is used often in roofing projects and other outdoor applications. Closed-cell spray foam can also act as a mold and moisture deterrent. Open-cell spray foam, with its lighter, more open-cell architecture, is great for sound insulation between interior walls. Cellulose insulation, the latest in home insulation solutions, is a loose-fill insulation made out of renewable, plant-based products and is environmentally friendly, having the highest recycled content of any current insulation material. Recent studies have also shown that cellulose may be a better fire-deterrent than fiberglass. Like spray foam, cellulose can be installed in hard to reach areas, fitting over pipes and wiring. While providing a lower R-value than spray foam, cellulose is traditionally a lower cost option that also provides effective insulation.
