I purchased the Osetra Amber Caviar & Bourbon Smoked Trout Roe. Along with some blinis, mother of pearl spoon, & some Griottines Cherries (they are sooo good)! Everything was a hit and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is not a place to eat pasta, it is a place to buy pasta you can prepare at home. It is located in a small and nondescript retail strip center on Campbell Road just north of I-10. Inside this tiny little shop you will find a place to get a cup of Italian Coffee and some pastries. You will also find some outstanding and very authentic Italian sandwiches. They generally have three or four to chose from for lunch. Seating is limited to a table or two inside and a table or two out front. (Yes it is that small.) Taking pride of place is the pasta kitchen, where the fresh pasta and sauces are made. Casetta is owned and run by a husband and wife team. The husband is from Italy and brings his passion for food with him. The available pastas, sauces and sausages are on display in two large refrigerators. Generally, I stop by for a sandwich and get some of the pasta and sauces for later in the week. There about 10 pastas and ravioli to chose from. Since Italians have very firm opinions on what sauces go with each pasta I always ask! For example I select a pasta or two.....then let them select the sauce to go with it. Give it a try. I don't think that you will be disappointed.

Only Italian place in Houston that reminds me of my time in Italy, I've pretty much been all over Italy but this place gives me a more Florence aka Firenze vibe! Family owned! Interestingly enough the owner is from Florence! Customer service from Rebekah was simply outstanding and reminded me of my time in Florence where I felt as if I was family. They have fresh authentic Italian Ingredients! They have frozen Italian delicacy's you can buy like pastas, Mac n cheese, sauces, Italian sausages and more. They also make their own Italian pasta in house! They have a small coffee section, bread section and authentic Italian imported drink section. I opted in for their fresh sandwiches on focaccia bread I got the prosciutto sandwich and my wife got the caprese. My sandwich consisted of fresh arugula, (I forgot the cheese), prosciutto, balsamic vinaigrette on focaccia bread. The sandwich simply took me back to my time in Florence! Fresh and authentic ingredients! I also got a Limonata drink I forgot to take a picture of! I will be a regular customer! Tap in !

I am so glad that I came because I got to see, for myself, how popular this place is for the food they serve. The line is so long and consistently long. They're not really just known for their meat market and food products they are known for their food line I tried a little posole, rice, beans, chicken guisado, and Carnitas tacos. I even got some Carnitas and Chicharron. I always recommend Chicharron if you have to have some kind of crunch and you like pork rinds. This is the best pork rinds you'll ever have. I have to say the chicken guisado was my favorite. Please note everything is fresh. They had fresh homemade corn tortillas . Not everyone has that! They have an amazing selection of drinks. I didn't even know what to choose from. So many different flavor is in Mexican soda and when I say Mexican sodas, they're actually imported from Mexico so they taste just like Mexico. Even though the line is consistently long, it moves pretty fast. I legit saw so many people take big orders to-go as if they were having a party and this was just on a Sunday morning. I didn't have it today, but on another day, my husband brought me a chili relleno from here and it was the best chili relleno I've ever had. They don't have it every day but if you're there on a day they have it please try. It is so delicious and it's huge! The cool knows what she is doing. The store is clean, hello constantly stocked up, very colorful as the layout is organized. Your butcher lady is very knowledgeable. You can ask her anything about any meat and she knows it all. Trust me, we tested it. Come try out the food!

The guy in front of me knew what he was doing and it was obvious he had been there before, so I followed his lead and got myself a lengua Taco and a Chicharron taco both on corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. Both tacos were excellent and the corn tortilla was super soft and yummy. They had places to sit down and enjoy your meal with salsas at the tables and counters. I gobbled mine down too quick to take a picture but I'm definitely heading back to try their other tacos and definitely will get the chicharron and lengua again. Service was fast and friendly. It took less than 15 minutes from start to finish... Next time I'm going to slow down and enjoy myself.

I was struggling to decide, so they let me know that they could mix flavors in a cup, which was perfect! You'd be surprised at the number of froyo or ice cream places that refuse to mix flavors, so I'm always happy when that's an available option. To the ice cream itself, it was exactly what I was looking for. Not too sweet or heavy, but still creamy with unique flavors. I ended up trying the lavender honey and was surprised that I could actually taste the floral notes of the lavender without it being overpowering. I paired it with an ube flavor, and thought it really hit the mark too. There was a steady stream of customers flowing through, from families to couples. Small place as expected of an ice cream shop, but still more than enough seating inside, and a nice covered area outside too.

I'm giving it 5 stars and here's why: I've been to several novelty candy and soda shops and Rocket Fizz is the only one that truly has a more diverse and actually unique selection. It's not just about quantity, it's about the quality of quirkiness. You walk in and immediately feel like a kid in a candy store, but one that's been curated by someone with a wonderfully weird sense of humor and taste. My personal favorites were the bubble gum and sour raspberry soda - I never knew I needed it but I loved it! It was a surprisingly good and memorable drink that sums up the store's adventurous spirit. Beyond my soda find, the aisles are packed with retro candies, international treats, gag gifts and so many other weird soda flavors you'll feel overwhelmed - in the best way possible! If you want a shopping experience that's not ordinary, full of surprises and unique finds, Rocket Fizz is a must visit. I wandered in not expecting much, but my experience here ended up much better than I thought…read more I went with their August prix fixe and went with their Truffle Deviled Eggs, Crispy Sweet & Sour Shrimp, and Key Lime Tart. The deviled eggs make good comfort food and was satisfying. This version doesn't have much of a kick, but it's very creamy and you can definitely taste the truffle oil. The homemade potato chips also add to the texture and salt between bites. The shrimp dish was fun with a light and crispy batter, well-seasoned and drizzled with sweet chili sauce. The cool ranch surprisingly added to the shrimp and enhanced the chili sauce rather than overwhelming it. The made-in-house fries were far better than expected. I was somewhat expecting dense, oily, boring fries, but these were very crisp and somehow didn't feel too greasy as far as fries goes. Almost seemed like an injustice for it to be served with ketchup as it was too good for it. Lastly, the tart was a great way to end the meal without it being too much. Loved the crust. The tart shell tasted really good and went well with the filling, which had a lighter consistency than pudding. Fruits tasted like they were on season, even though it should be a bit too late for strawberries. I'm also a sucker for meringue. I'll have to come back to see if it wasn't a fluke, but there were a lot of dishes here that looked good. Maybe even swing by for happy hour, we'll see. Definitely a nice spot to visit in this neighborhood.

The meatballs and tomato sauce were both solid and I loved the toasted bread on the side. As for the truffle deviled eggs, that's something you don't see often on the menu! The truffle flavor/aroma was solid and the fresh chips on top were nice. The cheeseburger was pretty good and I enjoyed all the veggies that came with! Aside from that, the restaurant had a neat interior/decorations and good service!

It is a walk-up counter order setup--they bring the food out to your table, but you retrieve your own drinks and silverware. I'm personally not a big fan of walk-up ordering (meh #1), and the dining room felt like it could use a little TLC (meh #2), but overall the food made up for it. Fried Green Tomato BLT: Served on a pretzel bun with bacon, aioli sauce, and leaf lettuce (which I substituted for shredded lettuce). It comes stacked with two layers of fried green tomatoes--I ended up taking one layer off, but the flavors were solid, especially the bacon and aioli. Fish & Chips: My dining partner had the fish and chips with wedge fries and coleslaw, and he enjoyed his meal very much. 8/15/2026: Overall, it's a solid place for lunch, especially for a quick bite before or after heading over to Regal Marq'E. The décor, wine list, menu, comfortable seating, and cozy atmosphere make it such a special spot. They offer wines for every taste and budget, and the staff is knowledgeable when asked for recommendations. That's why this is difficult for me to write. Despite visiting frequently, I've consistently found the customer service to be unwelcoming. The service has a strange tone, and it isn't limited to one employee they all seem to share the same indifferent, slightly annoyed demeanor. The experience feels less like genuine hospitality and more like, "You're here what can I get you?" On my most recent visit, others in my group noticed and commented on the same thing without any prompting from me. Since they had never been before, it confirmed that it wasn't just my perception. One small interaction captured the overall tone. We asked whether they happened to have a birthday candle, and an employee responded in an annoyed tone by pointing to the candle on our table which, realistically, no one would put on a birthday dessert. We completely understood that they might not have one; it wasn't an unreasonable expectation or request. A simple, friendly response like, "Unfortunately, we don't, but we do have some delicious desserts," would have been perfectly fine. It wasn't the answer that bothered us. it was the way we were made to feel for asking. It may seem like a small interaction, but great hospitality is built on small moments. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, but unfortunately, the service doesn't reflect that same feeling. People return to places where they feel welcomed and appreciated, especially in a city like Houston with so many wonderful food and wine options. I genuinely want The Library to thrive because it has everything else it needs to remain a true neighborhood favorite.
