I live in Montgomery and called around places to have a rear view camera mirror and dash cam installed in my car that I purchased from Amazon. Most places I called had mixed reviews and when I did call they wanted me to go in person to get a quote I just didn't have time to do that so I began looking into the spring area and found Dr. Car Audio. I was impressed with the current reviews they had so I called 8/26 and spoke to Alex he immediately knew what I was needing and gave me a quote over the phone. I took my car the same day. Upon getting there I was told it would be couple of hours for the install so I had someone pick me up. The tech who worked on my car took his time when they called me to pick up my car I showed up and they were still working on it I didn't mind it at all because I rather someone take their time than rush through getting it done. Mind you it was almost their closing time so I really appreciate how they took their time. It's been a week since the install and I have not had any issues at all. Did you notice how the reviews are either 5 or 1 stars? The 1 stars are people who had an issue with the guy "Alex" or the people who know a thing or 2 about car audio. Most 5 stars are from people who just got their services and don't know much about it. I too, was a 5 star once, because my subwoofer install worked. Then 6 months later the fuse blew. They repaired it, and when I asked why, he told me I "overplayed it". Is that not what it's supposed to do? Play music loud? Not only that, the connections to the amp were poor. Cut, stick it in, then screw poor. No crimps not even proper connection- they were ready to fall out upon inspecting amp 6 months later. The ground to the chassis from the amp was the classic one screw on top of the ground screw, no sanded paint nothing. After they replaced the fuse and sent me on my way, my truck shuts off while I'm driving (computer died). I'm experiencing voltage drop now because they installed something poorly. I now have to take it to another shop and have them fix it. The price is intriguing at first- and I fortunately got along with the guy, but you can actually save your money by going to a quality shop. I have no idea how much more I'm gonna have to pay to get their mess cleaned up. Not to mention that voltage drop can damage other components and easily send your repair into the thousands. I can't recommend this guy- and if I could go back in time I'd go with another shop and just pay 3-4 hundred more, because I'm gonna have to pay that anyway to get it fixed. So I run errands come back this evening and I tell the guy my issue and he just says to leave my car until 7:30 and it'll be done. I ask if I can schedule to come in the morning. Nope. first come first serve. L O L. Didn't inspect my car, no price quote...Clearly just another poorly run establishment trying to take advantage of a female. I will not be doing business here. Just went here and waited over 10 minutes without anyone even coming out to assist. Spoke to the installer who was in the bay and all he would tell me was to wait. I asked if he could let the other person know that I was there and he refused. After waiting several more minutes and even calling the store, still no one came out. I went back to the work bay and asked the guy if he could help me out quick, but his helping me out was just him walking into the store with to see if the other guy was there, then he just turned to me and said he's not here, maybe he's in the bathroom but he refused to do anything else and just walked off. If this is how they treat a potential customer and how they do business, I don't want these guys anywhere near my car. Head elsewhere where you'll at least be acknowledged. read more

The owner was very dishonest and manipulative! And the work was full of shortcuts, and issues! I went to have a deck and backup camera installed, and the rca wires for a sub to be run under the pannels. they said it would take 2 hours and would call me when it done. 3 hours passed while I was waiting the whole time at Starbucks before I called to check and they said it had been done. So they left me waiting an extra hour or more. When I got cack I want to examine the car before paying. I find a bunch of issues wrong. The Bluetooth mic was installed on dash clipped to a pannel instead of being run up the a-frame and to the visor as the manual says, and as is standard car audio practice. Then I notice a massive scratch on the dash pannel next to the cd deck. This wasn't there. The owner made fun of me for asking how this happened saying "what do u think we just kick parts around the floor? That wasn't us" Its my car of 3 years and I am an observant person, hence all the issues I'm noticing. I know the scratch wasn't there 3 hours earlier that day. Next I see that multiple functions don't work. These are 1) the deck won't open due to too tight of a fit from the parts used, so I can't access cd slot or memory card. 2) the button that activates the back up camera view doesn't work (improper wiring). 3) I open up the dash pannel and see improper parts were used so they used a tar type glue to make things stay in place. 4) at least 2 clips were broken. I ask why the cd slot won't open and he says, "oh we had to use another type of kit since the one for your car wouldn't fit but everything else is good" Every time I mention or ask about one of the issues he explains it away or justifies it. But he didn't volunteer this info so he was lying. He was going to let me pay $250 for a install that wasn't worth $50! I could of done it myself as I usually do but this was a huge inconvenience and waste of time. I complain about what I find and all the dishonesty and issues and he agrees that I can pay half of the total since the issues which really was still overpaying but I was so flustered I agreed. Then he still charged me tax on the full amount when he previously said cash pay doesn't have any tax! Later I noticed more and more issues over the hours and next weeks. Trash of wire clippings and from the install all over my car! 2) Broken clips on the pannel behind the back hatch. 3) the hole they drilled for the backup camera behind the license plate was 1" diameter! They drilled 1" of metal for a 1mm wire, and didn't put any grommet to keep out moisture or to prevent the wire from getting cut on the sharp metal. When I called again after finding all this, the owner wouldn't stop speaking over me. Said we had a deal and resolved the issue and that I was a liar and I wasn't a man for not "keeping my word" despite that he was completely dishonest and did the worst car audio job I have ever seen (and I've had 5 decks installed over the years.) Talk about projecting your issues onto someone! I would never go here again! I recommend you pay $20 more to get a real technician to do the work done correctly! read more

I have a 1973 Cadillac coupe DeVille, the interior it need to be redone true enough, but the dashboard when I bought the car was in macland condition. And I took it there to get speakers put in the front, and when he got done, there's a long hairline crack down the middle of the dashboard. He know the owner knows that it was not fair, when he looked at my car to put the speakers in, naturally he would have said okay you know it's an old car it's got a crack in the dash, when his technician gets done there's a long crack in the dash, and he tried to say to me oh that's that's that was there yes that was there already see you are a freaking liar I will not recommend a dog to go there. If you break something at least apologize for it it was only $162 to put the speakers in, I would have just said okay things happen but when he said oh I didn't do that he got really really upset that's when you know a man is lying I was calm I said sir you crack the dashboard, and he went haywire from there bad customer service very bad I wouldn't recommend it I was going to go back to get alarm system but if this is the type of work they do I wouldn't recommend no one to go to this place. They told me exactly what part I needed to buy (it was an oem Bose radio amplifier amp) and once I had bought the part from eBay they can install for me, their work is honest and price is affordable. Walked into this place and asked how much to replace the glass on my phone because it says they fix phones also and the guy said $125 and then started with plus.. I told him nevermind, I'll just take it to cell phone repair Cellphone zone at Willowbrook where they'll fix it for $50 and he said get out of my store asshole 'excuse my French, only repeating what he said'. I've never been spoke to so rudely at a place like this. Great customer service and installation. These guys will give you a fair deal and listen to your needs. I recently purchased a Kenwood superslim powered sub from Amazon for my 2015 F150 . I just needed a little more bass, like factory, but with deeper sound. I visited 2 other competitors who did not want to install it and persuaded me to buy one of their systems. D.R. did not hassle me and told me it was the correct setup for my listening needs. The installation was an hour. I will come here again. What a great find. read more

This place has comparable prices to other big businesses, but the owner seems very knowledgeable about his products and what he does (unlike some other businesses). I took my iphone 4s to them to have the cracked screen replaced and was advised it would be 2 days before completed. I picked the phone up 2 days later and the screen had been replaced. Later that evening I noticed the screen was wavy and within a day had gotten continually worse- especially on any photos. By the following day the screen went completely black. I took the phone back to them and explained the issue. They took the phone and the receipt and told me it would be 2 days. I went today (2 days later) to pick up my phone and was told the company that does the repairs told them it was not the same phone. I explained that was ridiculous and that they could cross reference any of the numbers on the phone. I asked for my receipt and was told they did not have it- I explained again that I left the receipt with them per their request. I requested my receipt again and got the same answer- NO. I asked for the info for the company that does the repairs and they stated they would not provide it. Still calm at this point, I explained that the situation should be able to be cleared up if they provided the receipt and contact info and it would be clear that the phone was the same phone they repaired (had repaired) a few days earlier. They then stated they do not warranty phone repairs at all and asked me to leave their store. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY TO REPAIR YOUR PHONE. HONESTLY, I WOULD NOT PAY THIS COMPANY FOR ANY GOODS OR SERVICES THEY PROVIDE.
