Located off the 20 near Pingree Grove, it serves unique flavors in a quaint and cozy location. So far I've tried Vietnamese Cinnamon, Cantaloupe, Salted Maple, St. Louis Buttercake, and their take on Blue Moon. All of them were tasty, but my favorites were the Vietnamese Cinnamon, Cantaloupe, and St. Louis Buttercake. I also definitely appreciate that they were creamy, easy to scoop straight from the freezer, and not icy. Service has been friendly and they offer free samples. Overall I'll be coming back again whenever I hanker for ice cream, and I look forward to trying their holiday pies!

It is sad, my family and I wanted to support our community. We found this local store and decided…read moreto try it out. Would not reccomned here is why: Customer service: One specific employee was rude to my older parents and I. My parents andI went in and an employee, and older ladyolder lady asked me what I wanted. I said I was still deciding. My parents were standing next to me and instead of asking them for their order she just walked away. Another employee told her we were trying to order. She waved her arms in the air to that employee and said "they don't want anything." Right in front of us and loud enough that we heard her. She looked annoyed and walked away. We then had to wait a few minutes while the other employees helped other costumer. Then when the lady saw another customer come in, she came out, ignored us and went to help them. I told her, "but we were here first (still need help with order)," and she said "somebody else will take your order." That's just disrespectful, unprofessional. The paletas are very good! However, it's a shame that the customer service, from this one employee, was so bad. A product being good is not enough to keep people coming back. Customer service is the greatest factor in the success of a business. I know La Michoacana is a big chain and it will not fail as a company from one bad review, but good reputation needs to be sustained.

There's some quite unusual flavors so you can come back a few times. Coming here the first time it was kind of confusing. It's located on one side of the entrance. There's a bit of a passage to get through. Has mostly gelatos. There's also a few sorbets at times. It's about $5 a scoop, but there's much more than just bowls and cones. They make milkshakes and even have hot and iced coffee including Turkish. Crepes are one of the main items. These are filled with chocolate, Nutella, or basically whatever. Also they have dip sticks, which is fruit on skewers dipped in chocolate. They also make lava cake and other big items. Got a lot of sweet stuff to both drink and eat. It's located on Douglas close to Highland. There's a lot of more unusual flavors, along with more common ones, so it has a pretty big variety.

Parking was a bit difficult in this part of town. They had an ordering kiosk but one could ring a bell for someone to come over if you'd prefer to pay cash. They offer a variety of topping styles on top of their classic rolled ice cream. The ice cream itself is condensed milk placed on a frozen plate that gets neatly spread out to freeze into its ice cream state. The workers then roll it up and place into a bowl before adding your toppings. It was fun to see and delicious to eat. The ice cream flavors tend to be straight forward chocolate or vanilla since it comes from the condensed milk. Either way, the experience is fun and this is a cute shop.

It helps that they have a reward system in their app lol Sometimes they will have offers like a free cone and recently for the summer they had floaties for $3 every Tuesdays. My go to order is butter pecan concrete with butterscotch. Sweet, and creamy. I like that it's still thick and not blended too much like a smoothie. They put enough that there's always a pecan in every bite :) The cannoli thunder is another good one too but I think that was limited/seasonal. Service is pretty fast. I've always gone through the drive through. Most of the time there's a line but it's worth the little wait for fresh quality custard. They also have merch. So you know I have to represent and get a sweater. Because the winter will not stop me from getting my favorite custard! Don't forget to download the app and check in to earn points!

Gee N Jay's is one of the cheap Americanized Chinese classics. Only has orders to go. The majority of customers wouldn't want to eat inside thankfully. Found out about this after going past it a few times and after that we got curious. It's a pretty crappy looking building that even has a drive thru if you can believe it. This certainly isn't authentic stuff. A typical place with the big pictures of the entrees. They only had a few listed. Also has kiosks. These had the full menu though. It's about $13 for an entree. There's a few okay for vegetarians. I got the Kung Pao Tofu. This is a pretty standard version. Has a pretty good hotness. There's mostly tofu along with a few pieces of baby corn and peppers. Great place to get takeout, because that's the only option of course. It's located on Dundee at Page. They close pretty early in the evenings, and they're closed on Wednesdays.
