The temple hinge had cracked off the main frame part and I took my glasses to Costco optical, LensCrafters, Jins in California and they all couldn't fix it. Jins USA couldn't even fit my old lenses in any of their frames because Jins USA is completely different stock from Jins Japan. I took my broken frame to Paris Miki Ala Moana because they sell Japan frames but they were not helpful and couldn't help me. I know I'm not the first person this has happened to so I was disappointed I couldn't find anyone to fix my glasses. I just include this part so you can avoid all the trouble and just come here if you have a similar problem. SEOUL OPTICAL is on the 12th floor in the Pacific Guardian Tower, which is next to Walmart across Makaloa. They open at 9am. It's not facing the street or in a shopping center so you have to go looking for it. Kenny is the optician and speaks both Korean and English and was extremely helpful and told me he can't fix the broken temple hinge but he did have some frames that would fit my lenses! He immediately showed me a few frames and I was out of there in 10 minutes with my new glasses. My new frames are made in Korea, they are even lighter than my Japan frames, and the nosepads are not the clear silicone ones that turn green after a while, they are silver and so cool. My frames were $150 which is a great price compared to Costco/Lenscrafters and because they are made in Asia, fit my face better than any American brand frames I own. Even if you're not Asian, I highly recommend this place for your optical needs, he does carry US name brand frames too, but the frames made in Asia are far superior and cheaper than a trip to Japan/Korea.

He saved me a ton of money by reusing my old frames that I absolutely loved instead of fast-selling me designer frames that resembled my old frames anyway and cost an arm and a leg. He also helped me get a refund from my insurance. No other optician had ever done that for me. He's the best! My only regret is, year after year, giving certain widely advertised eyeglass shops business who overcharge on frames, especially, and trick you into believing you're getting a good deal. Where is the 6th star?…read more Dr. Saito's office is located at the Hale Pawa'a building on Beretania. Fairly new building. His office overlooks the beautiful city lines of Makiki and the mountains. This, while you browse his wide variety of premium frames or, if you choose, conveniently watch TV in the brightly lit waiting area. It's clean. Dr. Saito is very clean. Front desk, waiting area, ALL machines are clean. Did I mention the front desk? ALL of them came from hospitality. Friendly, helpful, and kind. Have a question? They'll answer it, and if they don't have an answer, they'll help to get it. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Saito since his previous location. He's personable and makes everyone in our family feel welcomed and cared for. He has a knack for kids and treats us adults like his old friends. We all feel comfortable seeing him and enjoy visiting his office (never a drag). He always stays up to date with the latest technology to help care for our eyes. He is patient and always willing to answer any questions you may have. We definitely recommend Dr. Saito!

They have this cool retina scanner that you can pay extra for to get a better map of it, seemed pretty nifty! Dr Lai was very helpful and patient with any questions I had and everyone was really professional and nice with us. Their COVID practices seemed good too. Would highly recommend this place and intend to go here regularly for our yearly checkup! Oh one other thing, I have a weird issue with the drops that dilate your pupils. In the past when i got them I would be dilated and spacey looking for 48 hours. I told Dr Lai this and she used much weaker drops and it helped a lot! Been seeing him for many, many years and was always highly pleased. Went in today for my annual eye exam and I needed new glasses. AFTER everything is done, the staff presents me with a bill for over $800 (apparently they no longer take Medicare and/or my Advantage plan)!!! I went straight home and called my Advantage provider. Then went back to the Optometrist's office -- had them cancel my credit card charge for the $800+ and just give me the prescription for the glasses I need. For some reason, they still wanted to charge me $100.......... Went to another Optometrist a couple of miles away, ordered my new glasses (which will be here in 1/2 the time as MidPacificEyecare) and it is ONLY costing me about $125........what a rip off!!!!
