Does diner breakfast very well. Fast service, polite waitresses. Restaurant is always busy. Very fair prices.

This is a great family owned place. Sit at the breakfast bar and watch dad (or grandpa, I'm not sure ) cook with the expertise of a military chef -I gather he is from his daughter running orders and chatting us all up. Friendly and comfortable, and very down home maine. All comfort food with a farm fresh emphasis. Eggs benedict? Yeah, it's grilled local hamsteak an inch thick. Mmhmm, no joke. read more

Very nice little cafe in downtown Augusta. Staff was very friendly and served us a great breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

fantastic homemade food. Everything is always perfect. I wish that they were open for dinner!

My entire family LOVES the Downtown Diner! The food is top notch as is everyone who works there! I will always return!!! So nice to love a Ma & Pa business! They know what they are doing! read more

We walked right in on a Saturday morning. Pleasantly greeted. The food arrived quickly. It was hot and delicious. Definitely recommend.

Clean, bright spot for a delicious breakfast served with a smile. I was in Augusta for a work event, and had a lovely breakfast on the way out of town. I had an omelette with green peppers and cheddar with home fries. The eggs were well prepared. I had asked for them to be a scramble rather than an omelet; which they kind of misunderstood, with the add ins more of a topping than scrambled in, but were delicious nevertheless. The menu gave the option of having just a few home fries; which was perfect for me. My husband got the Maine Breakfast which was blueberry pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. His pancakes were the size of a dinner plate. He enjoyed them a lot. It was a great meal for both us, made even more pleasant by the efficient and warm service. I would highly recommend this lovely spot. One final note for gluten allergy sufferers- they have gluten free bread, and the home fries were safe. A great plus! read more

This is a very warm, inviting, & busy local diner! The staff are nice & their breakfast menu is top shelf quality! Sundays they serve breakfast all day, which is my favorite! read more

Great service, huge portion for reasonable price. Passed by here on a road trip to Acadia. It's a very family friendly local place. Highly recommend for visitors to drop by this place . :) read more

One of our favorite Augusta eateries! Mike and Kim and their fantastic staff are awesome! The food is hot, fresh and delicious! My favorite it the haddock sandwich! Oh and the desserts...are amazing! Mikes' chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting is the best! read more

Been here a few times. Prices are very good and service is decent. Not a fan of the hours but that can be overlooked. Location is good and parking is always available out back. Overall I would give this place 3 stars for it's decent food and good service. read more

Great prices and delicious home made breakfast. I love the pancakes and the fresh cinnamon buns. For lunch the steak wraps are a must. The service is always friendly and food comes out fast. Sitting in the window to people watch is entertaining too. read more

Great little breakfast spot. Staff is super friendly. Giving here a 5-star review wouldn't be totally accurate. Food is terrific, but they haven't re-invented the wheel. It's your typical breakfast staples done right. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's tiny spot (although slightly larger than its previous location). Prices are basically on par with what you'd pay in Boston. In other words, a little high for a greasy spoon in Augusta, Maine. But there's only a couple of breakfast items north of $10. So they aren't completely ridiculous. Overall an enjoyable experience. read more

Only have two stars because of the service and food came out quick. The taste of the food was lacking. Literally lacking. My husband ordered the French toast and it was literally bread and egg. No flavor, no cinnamon, no sprinkling of sugar. Home fries the same way. Just fried potatoes. I got the blue berry pancakes. Tasted like bisquick with blueberries. So disappointed. read more

Eggs were perfect. Great toast with home baked bread. Pumpkin pancakes excellent. Nice place to sit and watch the town go by.

Great spot to get breakfast food. Friendly service and food is up fast even with a full dining room. The only reason it gets 3 stars instead of 4 is the flour wasn't cooked off all the way in my gravy. Still very tasty despite this. Would never hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place in Augusta to eat. read more

Was here with a good size group for breakfast. Great food, quick service and incredibly nice wait staff. Busy place and I know why. Can't wait to try a nice lunch next time I'm in town. read more

Service was so quick and friendly! Clean diner with modern decor. Good selection of breakfast and lunch items. Fresh baked muffins daily. Two small breakfasts and iced coffees only $13! Down town areas kinda dead on the weekends but nice to walk around and see the river on a sunny day!! Plenty of parking in the back too! read more

A good place for a really good breakfast. They have limited seating but the friendly family atmosphere is indicative of a local diner. Good home cooked food and friendly service. Don't come with a large group but a couple or family of four will enjoy this place. Parking is tough on water street but you can also park around back and come in the back door. read more

This place used to be great when it was the Bond Brook Diner. I enjoyed it even after the move to Water Street. Since the move it has slowly gone down hill. For which I am very sorry. The service is still excellent. The atmosphere is good and clean. But, the quality of the food is just poor, really poor. The killer is that this used to be a very inexpensive place to eat. The food quality went down and the prices went up. I hope that this local business can turn it around and when they do I will be back. Good luck!!! read more

Average diner fare. Nice to have the option of raspberries in the pancakes. Eggs Benedict received so-so comments from my companion connoisseur. Home fries were downright disappointing...pale and under seasoned. You won't over pay. read more

This quaint downtown eatery has a lot of potential. I stopped in for lunch about 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. The place was not busy but that did not stop the service from being slow. I try to find out what any restaurant specializes in when I go to eat. For lunch I was told it was the fried haddock sandwich. The piece of fish was a good sized portion, slightly bigger than the toasted bun that it was on. I found the breading to be very disappointing as it lack any semblance of seasoning. With a white fish like haddock the flavoring will come from the seasoning the cook adds. To top it off the tartar sauce that was served with the sandwich was bland in its self. They did redeem their selves with the coconut cream pie. The custard of the pie was thick and rich. This pie did not have meringue on it but it did not need it. For me the pie was worth the stop in this place. I have a feeling that they are better known for their breakfast as those items comprised the majority of their menu. read more

Be advised, in wintertime this seems to be the only place for early breakfast, in the capital region. They open at 0500. Friendly staff. I got two eggs over easy, links, whole wheat toast, OJ, and lots of coffee, for about nine bucks. Highly recommended. read more

Clean, busy, amazing pumpkin waffles, everything deliciously to order, a true gem! :)

This place is just all around a great place to have a brunch on a Sunday morning with your love. Its our tradition to go every Sunday that my boyfriends in town. I love this place, the staff is attentive and sweet, the food is great- I recommend the waffles, the blueberry muffin toasted on the grill, and the coffee is fantastic. read more

Sweet, cute little place! Very busy, good food, but portions were a but irregular... super small or very large not consistent.

The service is good and the food is OK although I expected more from a bit better from a family breakfast place.

Very inexpensive for a good amount of food. The pancakes are huge. Decent wait staff and menu.

This place is excellent. Low prices, great food, prompt service, but no intrusive waitresses bothering you every 5 minutes. Nice view of downtown, small town atmosphere. A new date spot for my wife and I, certain to return! read more

All I can say is yum! Amazing omelettes. Fast friendly service. Great breakfast place.

Excellent basic breakfast brunch and lunch place. Busy but fast turnover, friendly and experienced waitstaff. Delicious omelettes. Very good prices. On weekend, not a place to pan to linger. Good coffee and surprisingly large tea selection. No non-dairy options for coffee (no almond or soy milk), but chef easily prepared delucuous dairy free omlettes. Gluten-free toast available and GF French toast available. read more

Fast and friendly service. Great lunch well worth getting off the highway and driving past all the chain restaurants.

Went for breakfast great food great service food served hot and quick, go you will not be sorry.

Nice setting and very friendly service staff. Unhappily the food was less satisfying. My husband's omelet was tasty but somewhat bland, and my "lightly" scrambled eggs were very well-done and had little flavor as if they were cooked on the griddle with no butter at all. The sausage was tasty, but the home fries were average. Wish I could report a better review as we always search out local, personally run places to eat. read more

The cozy Downtown Diner is a place that feels as welcoming as home with a friendly atmosphere and a server full of good recommendations. But after a yummy lunch of fish and chips, I might have been feeling a little bit too comfortable because I left both my wallet and sunglasses on the table....our friendly server chased us down for over a block to give them back...that's just the kind of place this is - great food, great service. read more

I had a breakfast sandwich, which came on a grilled English muffin. My husband had an omelet that he said was good. The omelet didn't come with home fries, but they were offered as a side for an extra charge. The decor was cute. We'd go back if we are in the area again. read more
