Very nice little cafe in downtown Augusta. Staff was very friendly and served us a great breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

Clean, bright spot for a delicious breakfast served with a smile. I was in Augusta for a work event, and had a lovely breakfast on the way out of town. I had an omelette with green peppers and cheddar with home fries. The eggs were well prepared. I had asked for them to be a scramble rather than an omelet; which they kind of misunderstood, with the add ins more of a topping than scrambled in, but were delicious nevertheless. The menu gave the option of having just a few home fries; which was perfect for me. My husband got the Maine Breakfast which was blueberry pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. His pancakes were the size of a dinner plate. He enjoyed them a lot. It was a great meal for both us, made even more pleasant by the efficient and warm service. I would highly recommend this lovely spot. One final note for gluten allergy sufferers- they have gluten free bread, and the home fries were safe. A great plus! read more

Only have two stars because of the service and food came out quick. The taste of the food was lacking. Literally lacking. My husband ordered the French toast and it was literally bread and egg. No flavor, no cinnamon, no sprinkling of sugar. Home fries the same way. Just fried potatoes. I got the blue berry pancakes. Tasted like bisquick with blueberries. So disappointed. read more

Been here a few times. Prices are very good and service is decent. Not a fan of the hours but that can be overlooked. Location is good and parking is always available out back. Overall I would give this place 3 stars for it's decent food and good service. read more

Great little breakfast spot. Staff is super friendly. Giving here a 5-star review wouldn't be totally accurate. Food is terrific, but they haven't re-invented the wheel. It's your typical breakfast staples done right. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It's tiny spot (although slightly larger than its previous location). Prices are basically on par with what you'd pay in Boston. In other words, a little high for a greasy spoon in Augusta, Maine. But there's only a couple of breakfast items north of $10. Great spot to get breakfast food. Friendly service and food is up fast even with a full dining room. The only reason it gets 3 stars instead of 4 is the flour wasn't cooked off all the way in my gravy. Still very tasty despite this. Service was so quick and friendly! Clean diner with modern decor. Good selection of breakfast and lunch items. Fresh baked muffins daily. Two small breakfasts and iced coffees only $13! A good place for a really good breakfast. They have limited seating but the friendly family atmosphere is indicative of a local diner. Good home cooked food and friendly service. Don't come with a large group but a couple or family of four will enjoy this place. Parking is tough on water street but you can also park around back and come in the back door. read more

This place used to be great when it was the Bond Brook Diner. I enjoyed it even after the move to Water Street. Since the move it has slowly gone down hill. For which I am very sorry. The service is still excellent. The atmosphere is good and clean. But, the quality of the food is just poor, really poor. The killer is that this used to be a very inexpensive place to eat. The food quality went down and the prices went up. I hope that this local business can turn it around and when they do I will be back. Good luck!!! read more

This quaint downtown eatery has a lot of potential. I stopped in for lunch about 1pm on a Saturday afternoon. The place was not busy but that did not stop the service from being slow. I try to find out what any restaurant specializes in when I go to eat. For lunch I was told it was the fried haddock sandwich. The piece of fish was a good sized portion, slightly bigger than the toasted bun that it was on. I found the breading to be very disappointing as it lack any semblance of seasoning. With a white fish like haddock the flavoring will come from the seasoning the cook adds. To top it off the tartar sauce that was served with the sandwich was bland in its self. They did redeem their selves with the coconut cream pie. The custard of the pie was thick and rich. This pie did not have meringue on it but it did not need it. For me the pie was worth the stop in this place. I have a feeling that they are better known for their breakfast as those items comprised the majority of their menu. read more

Be advised, in wintertime this seems to be the only place for early breakfast, in the capital region. They open at 0500. Friendly staff. I got two eggs over easy, links, whole wheat toast, OJ, and lots of coffee, for about nine bucks. Highly recommended. read more

Excellent basic breakfast brunch and lunch place. Busy but fast turnover, friendly and experienced waitstaff. Delicious omelettes. Very good prices. On weekend, not a place to pan to linger. Good coffee and surprisingly large tea selection. No non-dairy options for coffee (no almond or soy milk), but chef easily prepared delucuous dairy free omlettes. Gluten-free toast available and GF French toast available. read more

Nice setting and very friendly service staff. Unhappily the food was less satisfying. My husband's omelet was tasty but somewhat bland, and my "lightly" scrambled eggs were very well-done and had little flavor as if they were cooked on the griddle with no butter at all. The sausage was tasty, but the home fries were average. Wish I could report a better review as we always search out local, personally run places to eat. read more

The cozy Downtown Diner is a place that feels as welcoming as home with a friendly atmosphere and a server full of good recommendations. But after a yummy lunch of fish and chips, I might have been feeling a little bit too comfortable because I left both my wallet and sunglasses on the table....our friendly server chased us down for over a block to give them back...that's just the kind of place this is - great food, great service. read more
