    Giant eyeball

I recently saw a review for the Dallas skyline. That's cool! I can do a review, too. I have been to Dallas twice in my life. The first was over a decade ago for a conference. The other time was in January 2019. I stayed downtown the first time. I spent more time figuring out the city the second time. Dallas has a gorgeous skyline. It's not overdeveloped. It is rich in history. There is plenty to do downtown. During my conference, I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, which is steps away from Reunion Tower. Reunion Tower is a ball-shaped observation tower. I love hitting any tower in a city to get skyline shots. It was a bit nippy on a January day, but the views were spectacular. I'd imagine that they are even more gorgeous at night. From the Hyatt, I walked over to Dealey Plaza on a conference break. There is The Sixth Floor Museum where you learn about John F. Kennedy's assassination. The sixth floor is where the shooter was. The street below has an X where he was shot. Kennedy's assassination was well before my time. Dallas wants you to learn about its history. I'm glad that I took the time with a friend to do so. I like interesting, quirky aspects of a city. I loved visiting the cattle drive statues. These statues felt like they came to life. I also became enamoured by a giant eyeball. Who knew? It looked cool and the history behind its creation is equally as fun. I miss Dallas. I hope to drop by and take in your skyline soon. (104)

Wow, I never thought Id review the Dallas Skyline. I didn't know there was a page so ill be updating often. Dallas is on fire right now. I've lived here all my life and never witnessed the onslaught of commercial development. There is so much to do and see downtown at all hours 24/7/365. Its become a real cosmopolitan City and while the overcrowding can be nerve-wracking, the trade-off of excitement is an acceptable compromise!

More like the Sighline, because it'll make you Sigh. The skyline of Dallas is pretty and spectacular compared to most, but compared to its main rival Houston, it doesn't match up as favourably. The colors are as good if not bette, but the buildings themselves don't have quite the same amazing power and presence, and they are a little bit shorter. Also the downtown just looks a bit smaller than Houston. For a city that always thinks of itself as the bigger and better rival of Houston, the fact that the downtown is smaller and the city is smaller and has a smaller population and that the city is eclipsed by its neighbour Fort Worth is an interesting Testament. But judging Dallas against most American cities in terms of skyline, Dallas wins. And is definitely gorgeous and can be seen for miles. The best food and drinks: In DFW get Meerut Kebab - the best Chicken Boti and Karahi you'll ever have. That's the top 5 in Houston place, btw. Amazing service too. https://www.yelp.com/biz/meerut-kabob-house-dallas Burger Xtreme is good, too - a very good burger indeed. Dumplings from "Dumpling" inside H-Mart in Carrollton is excellent. And Quoc Bao's Shredded Pork Banh Mi might be the best of its kind in the whole country. The other locations are in OKC. https://www.yelp.com/biz/burger-extreme-arlington-2 https://www.yelp.com/biz/quoc-bao-bakery-garland For drinks, try Bobaddiction (the waffle and the berry teas), and try Okinawa Milk tea from Sharetea, and Brown Sugar Milk Tea from Fruitealicious.

I have lived in Dallas my entire Life! I have been all over and there is nothing more Beautiful than my city. The skyline is just breath taking. With so many gorgeous lights with other buildings... Dallas is well on it's way to a city of a busy day & nightlife! Dallas is growing by leaps & bounds and now that we are getting over 35,000 people weekly.... Making Dallas their new home. There is no telling what we can expect in the near future. With over 40,000 people living in Downtown Dallas area alone. This growth as brought on new development everywhere. While I Love my city I will continue to live in my suburan city for the less hustle and bustle. Then hitting the BIG D when I'm ready for that city life.... Like too dine, shop, and enjoy the city life!

Downtown Dallas skyline has one of the best skylines yet! The views driving toward the city are breathtaking and it will anticipate you more to get out and explore. Dallas is home to the NHL team the Dallas Stars, and the NBA team the Dallas Mavericks who both play Downtown in the American Airlines Center. There is so much history in Dallas such as the area of where our President John F Kennedy was assassinated. The city is very beautiful with different types of architecture and building structures. One of the most famous buildings is the Bank of America building which typically at night lights up green but displays different colors I have also seen purple as well. The Omni hotel located Downtown displays such a great view at night and on Stars hockey games they usually display the Victory Green Colors with the Stars logo. Dallas has many museum's to offer as well as parks, and tourist attractions. One of my favorite attractions are the science museum, Klyde Warren Park, and Pioneer Plaza all located Downtown. Dallas is home to many restaurants and bars that serve up great local or ethnic flavor in a nice southern warm hospitality aspect. Downtown is also home to the famous Aquarium and the state wide known Reunion tower and, Giant eyeball which is a must see! Overall Downtown Dallas has beautiful views during day and night time and the streets are always clean of trash and debris. Downtown is a pretty safe city walking around with plenty of security and law enforcement as well. Once again the BIG D is a must visit and I highly recommend you to see for yourself!

This area has SO many attractions and events. The restaurants go from sandwiches, fantastic burgers, BBQ, to international fares from around the world! Desserts include exquisite chocolates, cakes, Asian shave iced, fried pies, fine baked pies and ice cream. Let's not forget the drinks of fine wines to super craft beers! There is the Kirk Pedestrian bridge nearby which makes this spot special for the kids! It has a playground nearly the full length (lots of kid friendly spots the full length) besides the intended kid playgrounds. There are places to sit and lounge. Places to sit and converse. And a long pathway to run, walk, gab and sight see. The BEST attraction at Trinity Groves is the view! In daylight, the view of the Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge is gorgeous with the back drop being the city of Dallas skyline. At night, is the ULTIMATE attraction, the fanciful and delightful ever changing colorful neon/LED building lights behind the well lit Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge. This trip, the full moon over this view made it spectacular! Bring a date, bring the kids, bring your dog or come alone. It is impressive! You will enjoy it!

We were fortunate there was no cloud cover! You could see for miles from the Ball's point of view at 470 feet up. The Reunion Tower itself is a 561 ft observation tower in Dallas, and one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. We spent about 30 min checking out the views and eventually made our way back down the elevator. Overall, it was a nice experience! But for the price we paid, I did expect a bit more! The Tower looked like a lollipop and was only 20 mins walk from our hotel. At one point we found ourselves on the train tracks and could see the Tower but couldn't quite see how to get there as there was no signage or directions. Eventually, we had to walk around and go under a bridge to get to the other side and walked towards the Tower. Even the entrance had no signage. It did have the name of the restaurant Crown Block and also Hyatt Hotel but nothing about the Tower. Anyway, we walked in and went downstairs. Tickets were $19 and can be bought from the kiosks. As we walked to the line, you get to have your photo taken with a green screen. There are props you can use on the right counter if needed. In the elevator you can see outside as you are going up. I just wished the glass was facing the city instead of Trinity river and the two Margaret sister bridges. You can see all the freeways overlapping like spaghetti. At the top, there is a little area with a few tables and chairs. I guess you can bring a lunch or snack whilst enjoying the views. The restrooms are really clean up there. Outside, there are telescopes available and info about the skyline. However, it was awfully windy and cold in January. The staff were really friendly and helpful with any questions you have. We found out the photos taken earlier, could be viewed at the kiosks by scanning the barcode on your ticket. They email the photos to you for free or you can buy a physical copy from them. Overall, it was a nice visit. Have to say, there were hardly any people around. I guess it was off peak tourist season, so it was nice not having the crowds and long lines.

The architect's name should be familiar as he also designed the Milwaukee Art Museum, the World Trade Center Transportation Hub in Manhattan and the Auditorio de Tenerife among other absolutely stunning buildings. Margaret Hunt Hill (1915-2007) was a major philanthropist to a number of Dallas charities and was the daughter of oil tycoon H. L. Hunt. This is a cable-stayed bridge that opened in 2012 and connects downtown Dallas to West Dallas. The stunning 40-story center-support arch is a major feature of the Dallas skyline. It is 1206 feet long, connected with 58 white strands that connect along the center of the bridge. It almost likes like a musical instrument that might be played by a giant! There is no toll to cross the bridge. It is for vehicles only, with the adjacent Ronald Kirk Bridge converted to a pedestrian and cycling bridge. [Review 758 of 2024 - 517 in Texas - 21789 overall]

As with anything being developed here, it was controversial on all fronts. I have to admit I was skeptical at first. Primarily because I'm attached to the original bridges spanning the Trinity river that have been here in use for 100 years. The oldest of these bridges was (and still in use) the Houston Viaduct designed and engineered by a woman. This new bridge was named for Margaret Hunt Hill the socialite, businesswoman, and philanthropist. she was the daughter of Hunt one of the first to discover oil in Texas and instrumental in Dallas growth. Unfortunately, I didn't capture the best vantage point of this bridge but, it's become a good love addition to the Dallas landscape. Check it out when in Dallas
