Once you get off the elevators you're greeted with a little gift shop that also has snacks and alcoholic beverages. You can stay inside and take in the view or go outside. I was surprised that there really wasn't more robust netting and you can definitely drop your phone from the top so be careful. There wasn't a ton to do up there so I would say a longer visit would be 30 min max unless you partake in the snacks and beverages.

We came around 3pm and it was a ghost town and parking was roughly $15.00. Once coming in we got check in and went straight up. Once we got to the top there was literally no one there besides the workers lol. We took 20 mins max and left. The space needle is much better than this unfortunately. Only cool thing I got to learn from this experience was hearing about where JFK was shot and then heading over to the location where the X is painted marking his passing.

I came here specifically to view an art display by Carlos Ramirez- Alter to a Dream. A shrine that honors mexican american laborers and families who traveled in cars loaded with most of their possessions. Even though it was 28 outside I'm glad I came to see it. It's slated thru today but,because of the weather I don't think it's going anywhere for awhile. I also payed a visit to the "Giant Eyeball " that's realistic beyond belief. The Joule across the street is filled with fabulous contemporary art and deserves a stop in the lobby to check it out. Remember the crystals you grew as a kid? Well an artist grew these same crystals on a full size car engine! Amazing.

Does it still have quirk and uniqueness? Sort of. It's just not as vibrant or as special as it once was. Do I hate it? Of course not. Do I think people should check it out? Of course I do. This is a cable-stayed bridge that opened in 2012 and connects downtown Dallas to West Dallas. The stunning 40-story center-support arch is a major feature of the Dallas skyline. It is 1206 feet long, connected with 58 white strands that connect along the center of the bridge. It almost likes like a musical instrument that might be played by a giant! The sculpture stands about ten feet tall on a short pedestal. It is a twisted stack of straight forms, almost looking like a helix of books though it is hollow inside. Nicely lit and a pretty series of colors, I was not able to find an artist's statement or such that explains what they were trying to do here. Wow this place is surreal!!! The life size bronze sculptures of the cattle drive consists of 49…read morelonghorn cattle and 3 cowboys commemorating the historic Shawnee Trail drives. As you stand by them, you can imagine yourself in that moment, reliving the sounds and movement of the cattle. Cattle drives were a common sight throughout Texas and therefore very much part of its history. This is a great place for photos and I even saw a family of ducks going into the water. As I was visiting I saw a few kids climbing onto the cattle. Not sure if that was allowed but there were no signs around that says otherwise. I did read that some of the sculptures do get taken away to be fixed. Overall, it's a must visit. Where else can you see 49 life size sculptures of cattle. Definitely a must see, when in Dallas.
