    This was supposedly serviced by Toyota.  When you replace an axle seal, according yo the FSM, you inspect and repair any old or worn parts

    if I could give a zero I would. they did bad repairs (if they did them at all) putting me, my partner and my beloved dog at risk for bodily harm, and costing me twice the money and getting me stuck out west. now I am unsure if I can afford to spend time with my terminally ill father because my savings is gone. my father can't travel to me...so i may miss a precious winter with him. I Took my car to them for maintenance to avoid this kind of situation. they refused to refund me anything even after I explained all this. the first phone call Kevin had no empathy, no interest, he hadn't even availed himself of the details of my complaint before calling me. then he said simply he had no solution. He attempted to deflect blame onto other mechanics that had done oil changes on the vehicle. Oil changes have NOTHING TO DO WITH SUSPENSION WORK. when I asked why he bothered calling me, he said because Toyota corporate told him to. Not because he cared, not because he wants to fix the problem and has some ideas, because corporate told him to. on our second call he refused me a refund because of my negative complaints. complaints are part of business. if you don't want them, do good work and have integrity and accountability when you mess up. don't call someone who is clearly in distress about their situation with no solutions and no compassion and say you only called because its your job. Do you have any idea how it feels to imagine that a repair I paid for was done so badly it could have caused my life partner and dog to die??? and still because Toyota won't refund me anything I can't afford to have all the shoddy work fixed so we are now driving around wondering if our cvs will bust or if that timing belt was actually done. it's a terrible feeling to have and we didn't deserve that. Neither did I deserve the gaslighting and sexist treatment from the peope There who disregarded my multiple complaints about noise in the tires. THEY PASSED THE TRUCK ON INSPECTION WITH A BAD INNER TIE ROD AND REAR AXLE BEARING!!! Even after we kept saying the noise in the tires is not right. That noise was the bearing that was supposedly serviced by Toyota grinding away It's retainer. So it's evident they never did the seal or serviced the bearing, which according to the FSM IS STANDARD PART OF THE JOB. Additionally they left the clips on the cv boots open spraying out all the high temp lube. We had to take the truck back and make them fix that and I'm not sure now if the cv joints are ok. So if that was left undone on top of the axle seal and bearing you can imagine why we have to wonder about the rest of the work they did. this is a terrible company. I don't know what is going on over there but DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE OR BUY ONE THERE. Can't be trusted. Also, Sexism.

    Do NOT Trust Bernache Autobody…read more I honestly don't even know where to start with how bad my experience was with Bernache Autobody. It's been almost six months since I took my truck there for repairs after hitting a deer, and I'm still finding issues that they caused. In fact, they've caused more damage to my truck than the deer did! Here's the situation: I hit a deer while driving at 40 mph. The only damage was a dented front bumper and some broken plastic in the grill. I continued driving my truck for weeks after, and then went through my insurance to get it repaired at Bernache. After about three weeks, I finally got my truck back--and it was an absolute disaster. The bumper was crooked, they used zip ties to fasten the wheel wells, the headlight wiring was just hanging underneath the truck, the fog lights were crooked and nonfunctional, and there were missing bolts and nuts throughout the front of the truck. This was not professional work; it looked like a child had put it together. Naturally, I sent the truck back. After another week, I got it back, and the problems only got worse. The headlights were now full of water (they claimed it was because the insurance provided cheap ones) and the daytime running lights were flickering. To top it off, my truck threw an engine code related to the radiator louver--a part they had touched. So, back to the shop it went. ....My truck is relatively new and had been in immaculate condition before the collision. After the third time I got it back, I realized they had replaced several front grill pieces with cheap aftermarket parts, which weren't even damaged in the collision. It felt like they were just trying to cut corners at every turn. Frankly, I feel like they're scamming people. The work they did is subpar at best, and I can't imagine how many other customers have left that shop thinking their vehicles were repaired by professionals, only to find out they were hastily thrown together with zip ties and inferior parts. I would not trust Bernache Autobody with any vehicle. If you care about your car or truck, go somewhere else.

All I ask is you finish this sale and sell me the car I paid for, not in pieces or give me my money back and I know there are plenty of car dealers in this beautiful state who would love my cash.     Vehicle was serviced by quirk for a recall in Nov 2013 with 38429 miles, Safety recall N08/NHTSA…read more13V-038 Rear Axle Pinion Nut. The recall required a lock nut to be installed as the rear axle pinion nut were reported to loosen due to undersized pinion shaft splines which results in the rear axle to seize and cause the drive shaft to separate and stop vehicle. On 5/24/19 at 0030 hours this same vehicle with 64084 miles had the rear axle seize and drive shaft separate and fall to the ground and vehicle immediately come to a stop nearly going off the road. On 5/30/19 I was informed by a certified Dodge dealer service Manger (Lee Dodge of Westbrook Maine) that the repairs totaling $3361.85 should be disputed as the damage resulted from an improperly done Recall for this issue. The Lock nut was not installed. Numerous attempts to work this issue out with Dodge/Chrysler have been unsuccessful, in fact the Service Regional Manager for both dealers refused to acknowledge the issue and will not contact me to discuss. She refused claiming I may have had work done and the pinion nut removed. Up until this mechanical failure I was under the impression that the vehicle had a lifetime drive tran warranty and would of never paid for work to be done. Quirk and Regional Manager who refused to contact me provided no help and extremely poor customer service.
