    Wine tasting with friends

My husband and I went to Down Time Wines for the first time on Mother's Day weekend. We had a wonderful time. Colleen and Basil were so nice and helpful. As a promotion, they did a personalized label on a bottle of wine that we purchased. We came back with several friends yesterday and took advantage of the $10 wine tasting special on Wednesdays. Again it was so much fun. The wines are all delicious and we purchased an additional cheese, meat, nut and fruit plate. So yummy! Wonderful place that plan on returning. I recommend this place highly.

My friends and I went to play Farkle here. We did not eat from their menu but did try the wines and they are delicious as well as reasonably priced. The wine decor is so beautiful and they even will sell some of it. They have a cute little gift area. The owners are so personable and we had a great time talking to them about their wines. Definitely coming back for more Farkle and other events here!

In town to fete my brother's retirement and birthday and the niece insisted on taking us to this, her favorite place. Kid has good instincts! The family owned business focuses on making their own wines with ingredients from a variety of sources but they limit sulfates. Shelf life is shorter but the product is smoother and more flavorful. We opted for the wine tasting and were encouraged to select 6 wines out of an extensive list to sample. The lists included extensive and amazingly accurate descriptions. When these folks tell you black cherry notes you will swear you just ate your way through the produce section.

I can't say enough about Downtime Wines. We went on comedy night and what a fantastic night. We were in from California and the The wines are great so we bought some to take home with us. The comedy was great. The owners were so kind and accommodating. Just a great family owned place with great tasting wines. A+++

This was a really fun blind tasting called. Can you taste the price? Four red wines from around the world, and we were asked to guess the price on each without knowing anything about them other than the taste. We had a lively group there last night of about 15 and some really great conversation about places we've been and wines that we like. Most of the people I've met at these events are like me, just like learning about wine and trying new things. But there's a couple regulars there that really know their stuff, and they contribute great knowledge to the evening. I have to say, I did poorly guessing the prices, but pretty good at determining the relative price points among the four wines. In any event, Luna and I left with smiles on our faces and more good memories. Even though Spin The Bottle, it's about a 50 minute drive for me, this is my go to place for buying wine now. Cristobal's niche is finding really good wine that punches way above its price point. You won't find any of the big name restaurant wines here, and it doesn't matter. I would guess the vast majority of his wines cell for between $20 and $45 with a really large selection between $20 and $30. Oh, at least I forget, we were treated with a nice large charcuterie box from Mingle and Graze that was a crowd favorite. Most of these classes are held on Wednesday nights from six to about seven or 730. Buying a ticket to get a place at the table is highly recommended as they fill up fast. The tickets are about 30 bucks and get you a bunch of knowledge tasting a few really good wines and sharing a really good charcuterie box.

When ready, I ordered a ooh la la lemonade and we served ourselves some cold water. The bartender was friendly as she took my order and made my drink pretty quick. The tour started a few minutes later and lasted a little over an hour. The time went by fast as Tyler kept it fun, informative, and engaging. I learned a lot and walked away with some good brewery knowledge. We tasted several spirits and two were my favorite. There was a vanilla flavored one and a cinnamon one... cant remember the names, oops. We ended up buying the vanilla flavored one and I cant wait to use it! My ooh la la lemonade was delicious, not too sweet and not too strong. I had a GREAT time, this place rocks! Thank you!

Outlaw Distillery originated in Utah with Owner, Tyler Halstead and his beautiful wife Alexis. Over the past year there was a change in ownership and Tyler acquired what was at the time, Adventurous Stills in Tempe. This place has been a long beloved distillery to locals and visitors alike, making exceptionally good spirits and having a very welcoming atmosphere along with great staff, and a super fun whiskey club. A warm welcome to Outlaw Distillery and I wish nothing but success, as the two entities merge into one. If you've been to Adventurous Stills before, you will be happy to see that the whiskeys and other spirits that are distilled on site from grain to glass in small batch format will continue to be exceptional products, and they have some new things coming out but it's no longer branded Adventurous Stillls. I'm excited to see what fun and creative things happen with the new ownership and change, and as long as the whiskey and booze stays delicious, I'm here for it and will continue to be a big fan. Cheers all!

If you're considering getting married here, do it! You will not regret it. First, the venue is just beautiful. There's a big white barn with concrete floors (and air conditioning!), which is where we had our ceremony. Plenty of bathrooms, gorgeous bride and grooms quarters. The lawn is huge and green and lovely, and lined with mature trees. It was 90 degrees on my wedding day but it was perfectly comfortable on the property thanks to all the shade from the trees. Parking is limited on site, but there are side streets to park down. The DoubleTree nearby provides a free shuttle. We had 100 or so guests and didn't have any problems. We encouraged carpooling, provided parking maps with Sean's help, and told guests not to block driveways or park too close to stop signs. It's in a residential area, so be mindful of the neighbors. Ok, second, Sean was an incredible host. Having our wedding there felt like having it at a friend's house. Sean was so easy-going and opened the property to us so many times to let us scheme and meet with vendors (many of whom were recommendations from Sean and were outstanding!) On the morning of our wedding, we had a couple acrylic signs that we had made that weren't working with the easels that we brought. Sean said no problem, grabbed some wood, cut it, routed out the middle, and MADE US STANDS for the signs that were absolutely perfect. Can you believe? He's such a good guy, and it's things like that that really make you feel like you're in the right place. Thanks again, Sean and family!

We decided against using this venue even though it would of been nice for our wedding. So I emailed them from the "contact us" section on their website asking to view the property then received a response the next day and after a few emails back and forth we scheduled an appointment even though brief. I was told to text them a reminder. So after texting them a reminder on the day of, no response, then later I sent another text while on the way. They called me and told me they have no memory of scheduling my appointment but that they were up the street and would come meet me there. Then told me to just look around myself and call if I have questions. So my fiancé and I were just walking around the venue alone not knowing what's what. We felt like our wedding or business wasn't even important. We get they're probably busy and deal with a ton of people but just a big lack of respect. A wedding is a special time to a couple they want to feel like it's special and not a burden.

It was a beautiful Saturday and only 2 other people came in the whole time. The woman pouring our wine was very sweet and friendly. Surprisingly though, she had no knowledge of the wines and said she has never tasted them because she doesn't drink. We asked a couple questions about how long they've been a winery and she couldn't answer any. She even thought the animals that had passed away recently were llamas. I explained to her they were alpacas. I really think if you're going to hire someone you should make sure they are at least somewhat knowledgeable about the business especially since your customers are paying quite a bit.
