    Tacos!

Our tour was a great introduction to Old Town Scottsdale! Our guide, John (or James as he was known for our tour!), was such a great host. He shared so much background not only about the food but about Scottsdale itself. The stops were well planned and provided a great variety of items to sample. Our trip included pizza, tacos, a pasty, macarons, gelato, margaritas, beer, tea, popcorn and spice blends. I also thought the price was really fair for what we got. Highly recommend Taste It Tours and our guide John!

Just finished the Old Town Scottsdale tour with Taste It Tours and I highly recommend! Our tour guide was James Beach and I have to say, he was a great host! Not only did he keep the group moving at a comfortable pace, he did so while entertaining us with great stories about the area. I am an Arizona native (56) years old and I am amazed at how much I learned today - and how much I ate! You definitely get enough food to keep you going. I can't decide if the pizza from Craft 64 was my favorite or the chicken taco from Cien Agaves. But for sure, the macarons from Ruze Cake House definitely earned them a return visit from us after the tour! I definitely recommend and plan to check out the others they offer as well!

It was my first time visiting Scottsdale and taking this food tour was the perfect way to learn more about Old Town Scottsdale and eat some tasty food! At first I was a little worried that we wouldn't be getting enough food because there were only 4-5 stops, but by the end of the tour I was super full and happy. Our first stop was Cornish Pasty and this was by far my favorite! Before entering, Kyle (our tour guide) gave us a brief and interesting history of the pasty and how the restaurant was founded. We walked inside and were given half of the Thanksgiving dinner pasty and I was shocked at how delicious it was. Our second stop was CRAFT 64. Again, Kyle briefly told us the history about the building and the company before we walked in. We tried two different pizzas - margherita pizza and a fig jam & arugala pizza. It was great to eat a classic pizza and try another that I would never think to order. Our third stop was Cien Agaves. We were given a frozen marg, chips & salsa, and a crispy beef taco. The crispy beef taco was my second favorite and I wish I had the stomach space to eat more! Our fourth stop was a shop that specialized in olive oil and vinegar (forgot the name) I'm not too into this pairing but it was interesting to hear the store owners and their passion for developing and sourcing their products. Lastly, we finished the tour at Top Marks Cafe by getting a scoop of gelato. It was the best way to end the tour- super simple, not too heavy, and sweet. Also wanted to shout out our tour guide Kyle. He was the best!! He taught us so many interesting things about Old Town Scottsdale and the places we visited to. You could really tell he enjoyed his job, talking to us, and showing us around. He definitely made the experience 100x better. One important thing to note: 3 out of the 5 stops had accompanying alcohol samples, which greatly adds to the value of this tour. I personally only tried the frozen marg but everyone around me really enjoyed the other drinks! As you can tell, this food tour was amazing. They are VERY generous with their "samples," and Kyle was excellent. I recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Oldtown Scottsdale Food Tour was delightfully and deliciously fun tour with our tour guide Noah. The tour starts by the neighborhood that is filled with art galleries. We had the BEST craft pizza with fig jam at the restaurant 64, and we tried delicious honey beer...we also enjoyed an English delicacy, a tequila margarita with tacos, a French treat at Ruze, and homemade Italian gelato. I would definitely not know some of these places existed because they are not in the center of the Oldtown. Also, Noah was sharing some history about Scottsdale and she was funny with telling us great stories. I would highly recommend this tour...its worth the money you pay because there is plenty of food served on the tour.

Each stop featured a unique atmosphere and tasty food. I really appreciated their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions -- because I don't eat red meat, I was provided with two smoked turkey tacos in place of brisket nachos, and with chicken tacos in place of pork tacos. This was a huge plus for me! We spent about half an hour at each establishment before walking to the next. As we traveled, Zach shared some fun facts about the area's history. I left with a satisfied tummy and some great new memories.

I generally hate giving a food tour three stars and really struggled with this review.. I decided to give three stars based on variety, value and authenticity. The food felt like a repeat of the same thing over and over again outside of a weird radish finger food and gelato at the end. The repeat tacos and/or nachos are basically cheap junk food that you can get anywhere and $100+ for a tour does not sit well with me when you are only served a few tacos and corn. Lastly, I just don't think Scottsdale has a unique culinary scene outside of pulled meat and tacos, which just doesn't get me that excited. There just is not much for them to do on a food tour in Old town Scottsdale so they did what they could. I always recommend a food tour in a new city and still recommend this one if you need to fill time but it was one of my least favorite tours unfortunately.

We booked an Ice cream and Gelato tour around Old Town and the Waterfront and were picked up within 15 minutes by "Captain Kirk". He is a very warm and personable guide. He was well versed in the area including buildings/archetecture, public art, history of the area, restaurants and entertainment venues. We had three stops on the tour for 1) Ice cream, 2) gelato and 3) sorbet. All were excellent. We certainly had our fill of sweet treats, all included in the price of the tour. We would certainly recommend this company for one of their many various tours, based on this experience. It was a weekday in January so just be aware that you may need to make more advanced reservations than we did. Thank you Monica and Kirk.

We bopped around Old Town Scottsdale, being given historical information about the town/city and various landmarks. It was extremely interesting and a nice mellow way to start the tour. We then went up towards the Phoenician resort and toured the ritzy neighborhoods to see the beautiful homes - that is definitely an spect of the tour I don't think we'd get anywhere else! There were options to stop for photos, beverages etc. I would note to be prepared for the breeze as you ride on the golf cart and be aware you'll likely be on a couple busy roads with actual cars so ensure your belongings are secure. Outlaw Distillery originated in Utah with Owner, Tyler Halstead and his beautiful wife Alexis. Over the past year there was a change in ownership and Tyler acquired what was at the time, Adventurous Stills in Tempe. This place has been a long beloved distillery to locals and visitors alike, making exceptionally good spirits and having a very welcoming atmosphere along with great staff, and a super fun whiskey club. A warm welcome to Outlaw Distillery and I wish nothing but success, as the two entities merge into one. If you've been to Adventurous Stills before, you will be happy to see that the whiskeys and other spirits that are distilled on site from grain to glass in small batch format will continue to be exceptional products, and they have some new things coming out but it's no longer branded Adventurous Stillls. I'm excited to see what fun and creative things happen with the new ownership and change, and as long as the whiskey and booze stays delicious, I'm here for it and will continue to be a big fan. Cheers all!
