We booked an Ice cream and Gelato tour around Old Town and the Waterfront and were picked up within 15 minutes by "Captain Kirk". He is a very warm and personable guide. He was well versed in the area including buildings/archetecture, public art, history of the area, restaurants and entertainment venues. We had three stops on the tour for 1) Ice cream, 2) gelato and 3) sorbet. All were excellent. We certainly had our fill of sweet treats, all included in the price of the tour. We would certainly recommend this company for one of their many various tours, based on this experience. The second place specializes in omitting sugar from their wine but we didn't like the taste. I'm not a wine connoisseur so it's personal preference. The weather was great when we went but that also meant that the vines look dead at the wineries. We were told they are green and beautiful in the summer but I think I'll pick nice weather and dead looking vines than braving the heat in AZ. Overall, I highly recommend this trip and although there is food in two of the places, definitely pack snacks and food on the bus!

They do not have a huge tasting room down there though, so this location is Scottsdale is the only place to try their wines (unless you make an appointment at the vineyard in Pierce.) They offer indoor or outdoor seating. Parking is on the street, or in one of the nearby garages. There was also valet parking available on Saturday evening but not sure if thats always available during the week. We choose to sit inside at this cute corner nook area. Lots of fun wine decor everywhere. They had four wine flights to choose from and also offered glasses of specific wines. Food is also available for purchase. Michael was super nice and knowledgeable about everything. I choose the Volcanic Flavor Burst flight and my husband chose the Taste of LDV. We each shared our wines to taste more. Both of us loved the first wine from each flight, his being a white Viognier and mine a petite Syrah. We bought a bottle of each. We hit five different places in Old Town Scottsdale and definitely came away with our heads full of additional knowledge and our stomachs full of delicious food. It should come as no surprise that Lindsey is a teacher given the attention to detail and history in the information that she shared, and didn't mind one bit when I took some of the wind out of her sails with the Milwaukee connection that one of our steps--AZ88--had with a popular eatery back home. The amount of walking wasn't too much for my mom (recovering from knee surgery), and I cannot appreciate enough that the company didn't cancel the tour despite it just being the two of us on the tour with Lindsey. I also enjoyed that she was a true local, being on a first name-basis with much of the staff at the stops we made, driving home the comments she shared about being a local resident. The stops were varied from chips and salsa to bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, from elote to wine and cheese. And any tour that ends with gelato has to be good!

Wine Collective, where we sampled 3 wines and snacked on charcuterie. 4. Cimmino's, where we had our choice of several flavors of gelato -- and the ingredients were imported from Italy! Each stop featured a unique atmosphere and tasty food. I really appreciated their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions -- because I don't eat red meat, I was provided with two smoked turkey tacos in place of brisket nachos, and with chicken tacos in place of pork tacos. This was a huge plus for me! We spent about half an hour at each establishment before walking to the next. As we traveled, Zach shared some fun facts about the area's history. I left with a satisfied tummy and some great new memories.
