Just did this tour yesterday. Its a great time. Our guide who goes by "Hoppy Moto" is very knowledgeable and engaging. He took us to a couple breweries Id never heard of and we even got tours on how the beers are made. He made sure they kept the samples coming. Everything is effortless and easy and if course he has the driving covered. Im a hop-head and my favorite stop was The Shop Beer Co in Tempe. Awesome to learn that their place used to be the house one of Tempe's past mayors lived in. These guys do cutting edge "juicey" IPAs and everything I tried there was great. I will write a separate review for The Shop if youd like to read more. We didnt like the beers as much at Lochiel Brewing (more english style) but it was still a cool place to see and learn about and I could tell the beers were well made just not the style of beer our group likes. A fun event. It was planned with friends. Hoppy Moto was an excellent guide and driver. You can customize your brewery tiur. If you don't know they will plan it all. Our tour started at North Mountain Brewery. This place was excellent! A great tour from the owner. Next stop was lunch at Mother Bunch brewery. Great food. Our last stop was Phoenix Ale Brewery. Phoenix Ale was a bit small and I would probably select a different 3rd stop. Overall our tour was extremely fun and I would highly recommend. read more

Excellent service is one thing, but going above and beyond the call of business is somethings. Completely different. This is what John did. We booked a Thursday tour and received a call from John the day prior saying we were the only two booked for the tour. Despite a five person minimum, John said he would take us on the tour since we were from out of town and that he would pick us up at our condo. During the tour, John was fantastic and his beyond-the-scenes connections with brewery owners and staff make this your a real treat. Taking pictures up on the brew tank platforms and pouring right from the tank make this your one of a kind! Then things got interesting. A friend of ours suggested a brewery that was not on our schedule so we mentioned it to John. Not only did he call the owner and say we were Coming, he extended the tour just to take us down there and made sure our time was budgeted correctly to get back home on time. Then customer service went through the roof. John mentioned that as part of our tour we would receive pint glasses, but that he forgot them. Instead of just blowing it off, John delivered the glasses to Fate Brewing, where we would be ah gong out three days later. As someone in the service industry, this is beyond the call of service. Overall, I would give this experience a hundred stars if I could. John and AZ brew tours definitely earned it. read more

AZ Brewery Tours is simply the BEST brewery tour in the state! I spoke with John Alvarado (owner and tour guide extraordinaire) before buying my tickets. He was great to speak with on the phone and followed up via e-mail to let me know when tickets would be available. Since I work at a brewery in Indianapolis I was beyond excited for our tour and the day of I receive a phone call from John alerting me that me and my brother were the only two to purchase tickets that day and he gave me the option of rescheduling or going on a tour for two! Since we were only in Phoenix that one day we went with just John and it was great! First of all, John personally knows all the brewers and brewery staff, which really helps you feel welcomed and at home when you walk into the breweries. John is beyond knowledgeable of beer talk and general conversation having traveled to many places (including a small town in Indiana where we bonded over the best fried chicken in the Midwest!) The tour was the perfect mix of tasting, meeting brewers, conversing and eating a wonderful meal. That's right you get a full meal and pint on this trip in addition to all the amazing tastings. Please don't balk at the price of this tour because it is all worth it. This is an exemplary tour for beer geeks, those with slight knowledge and interest in brewing and the general fun-goer! I purchased a group tour for my Fiance's 40th birthday, and it was truly a wonderful experience! Our group had a last minute cancellation, and Hoppymoto (John, the owner) was totally cool about it. I didn't expect to be refunded for the person who didn't show, but he refunded me anyway; that's a classy move, in my book! The tour was very well organized, the bus was super nice, and Hoppymoto is a fantastic guide. We went to three breweries (although Phoenix Ale and Sonoran are in the same place, so we got a bonus brewery!) and had lunch in the middle of the tasting day (perfectly timed...). We got to see behind-the-scenes stuff at each brewery, and the relationship that Hoppy has with all of the brewers and owners made for an extra cool, extra fun experience. Throughout the whole planning, booking, and touring process, the business owner was professional, courteous, available, and fun. All of our friends said it was EPIC, and I'd have to agree! Hoppymoto is the man!! My wife purchased this brewery tour as a Christmas gift and it was a blast! Hoppymoto (John) is a great and very knowledgeable. Not to mention he is a safe driver! We started our tour at the O.H.S.O. Brewery and enjoyed the flight of beers with Brunch. From there we ventured to Phoenix Ale Brewery and had some more awesome beers. We ended our tour at the North Mountain Brewery which again was awesome. Hoppymoto really has a connection with all of these brewers and was able to be very detailed with information. My husband's Father's Day present

I really can't say enough great things about the tour we took August 27. First, they worked hard to accommodate our schedule and added a tour so we could fit in a brewery tour before our plane departed. This was not expected at all and very much appreciated as a perfect way to end my step daughter's 25th birthday celebration. The bus was on time, extremely clean and loaded with water to help with the 110 degree heat. The tour guide, Hoppymoto, was just fantastic! He was friendly, so knowledgeable and really seems to love his work. One of our guests left his phone at the last stop and Hopppymoto dropped us off to make our flight and drove him back to the brewery to get his phone at no extra charge. He even recommended other beer stops for the people remaining in Phoenix later. He really went above and beyond for us to have an awesome time and we certainly did. All three breweries we visited were terrific with a great array of beers and a very generous quantity. We toured two of the three breweries, learned a lot from one of the brewers and from Hoppymoto and we purchased some terrific food. We all truly loved visiting Mother Brunch Brewing! Julie was so knowledgeable and fun and we could have stayed there all day drinking great beer, enjoying the art and listening to her stories. We're so glad we decided to book a tour while we visited the Phoenix area this weekend! We work in the Brewing industry and had told John this prior to arriving. He took the extra time to schedule three excellent tours, and you can tell that he has great relationships with all of the owners and brewers. It was a pleasure working with the team at AZ Brewery Tours. I reserved a private tour for a birthday celebration and John graciously put up with multitudes of emails from me during the planning and organizing, loaded me up with all of the info I needed, promptly responded to all of my questions, and set up an online link where my friends could reserve their seats on the tour which made my life much easier. They accommodated my multiple pick-up locations and helped us map out the day to best suit our group. Everything went off without a hitch. We enjoyed all three stops - the staff at each were ready for us and fun to work with and the beer was delicious everywhere we went. The only thing I would say is it went by too fast! I hosted a surprise 40th birthday bash for my husband in October 2017. Back in March, I began considering various options. For a 40th birthday it's go big or go home! I decided to stay local and in my research found a cool concept; a brewery tour in Phoenix/Scottsdale. The Arizona Brewery Tour (AZBT) had a beautiful website with details on what they offer. The idea is people pre-pay ($100) and their "ticket" gets them a seat on the bus, a tour of 3 breweries, drinks, and food. For $100 it's a screaming deal. I was planning on hosting 25-35 folks, so I wanted to talk with AZBT ahead of time. I think they thought I was crazy for communicating with them so far in advance (7 months early!). Initially, their communication via email was great. I received some really great details with pricing and information. After that first email their response time was very slow, and I had to occasionally re-send the same email. Needless to say, I still signed us up for the tour but I was VERY nervous about it. I wanted everything planned ahead of time so when the time came I was stress-free. A few weeks prior to the party, a link was sent my way so people could register. That process was relatively easy. When the big day came I was still very nervous about this tour. I wasn't confident and was just hoping my friends and I would have a good time and that my husband would be happy. THANKFULLY, I couldn't have been more wrong. The tour was AMAZING. Hoppymoto was our tour guide and he was very nice, entertaining, and knowledgeable. He arrived on time in a giant bus. We all got on board and he took us to our first destination. He seemed to remember what everyone liked and didn't like about beer from our registrations. One girl was allergic to beer so he made sure she had enough soda to last her a lifetime. My sister wasn't a big beer fan so he made sure she always had something she liked, but, did encourage her to try a few beers. The two brewery tours were informative and so much fun. We got to see where the beer was brewed and take as many photos as we wanted. We even got to go into one of the coolers which was freezing! I am not sure how he was able to manage our large group (25 ended up attending) but he did a great job. We had lunch at Mother Bunch Brewery. They were all setup for us when we arrived, the food was ready, and we were served immediately. I felt like royalty! Since we pre-paid we didn't even have to worry about tipping our fabulous waitresses. I would absolutely plan another event using Arizona Brewery Tour again. While I wasn't thrilled with the slow communication, I was beyond thrilled with the actual event. I would 100% recommend them to any of my family or friends who were planning an event. read more

We did a tour of 3 breweries for a bachelorette party and it was PERFECT! Many of the girls on the trip said it was the best brewery tour they had been on because each tour was different (...and these girls know their beer). The tours did more than just tell us about the brewing process. We were lucky to meet the owners and asked all sorts of questions. Each place we went to had different vibes and we felt welcomed at them all! The tastings were fun, tailored to our individual preferences and the beers kept flowing! Everything truly is included. You could tell that the brewery tour company has a great relationship with all of the breweries which made the experience unique. One of the beers was actually named after our tour guide Hoppymoto who is energetic and put up with a bunch of loud women for 5 hours!
