My husband's taco bowl was a crispy tortilla shell filled with lettuce, cheese, beef, and sour cream . He thoroughly enjoyed it. My taco was in a soft, corn tortilla filled with chopped beef, onions, and cilantro. Piping hot! I squeezed on some lime juice and sucked that puppy down. The flavors were all working well with each other, but the tortilla chips didn't seem to be cooked long enough and were mostly chewy. My girlfriend had the Veggie Quesadilla, minus all of the veggies. It was very cheesy, fresh and delicious. The folks working the counter were very accomodating when asked to place the avacado on the side. All-in-all, it is an interesting concept. This food truck swung by work recently, and I have to admit I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Middle East cuisine. The young woman taking the order was very patient and explained all the different plates, the variations available, and what came on each. Her top recommendation came for the beef shawarma and I told her I'd take it. One thing that folks have to realize is that these are mobile kitchens with very limited space. In today's age of fast food that seems to be sitting under a food warmer and being prepared long before you order, there is an unrealistic expectation that a food truck will spit your order out in a minute or two. I played on my phone for a while and was delighted when my name was called. The meat was perfectly seasoned and there was no skimping on the portions. The liberal amount of sauce on top added to the tastiness (and most definitely the messiness) of this dish. I'm hoping this food truck comes back soon. Not only for a chance to try some other of their tasty dishes, but also because of the friendliness of the woman at the window, and for how (relatively) quickly my food was served.
