Now, those items can truly make a difference for the amazing people who dedicate their time to going to auctions and rescuing these beautiful horses, giving them a second chance at life. It's shocking to realize how many horses are purchased at auctions, only to be shipped off in such cruel conditions to slaughterhouses in Mexico or Canada. The heartbreaking truth is that around 90% of these horses are perfectly rideable and in good health, not old or sick like many people assume. And with prices skyrocketing to $5 per pound, this issue is more pressing than ever! If you're interested in learning more, there are a few eye-opening documentaries on Netflix that I think everyone should check out!
