We checked out Longshadow back in November of 2011 for our wedding a year later. Longshadow is a beautiful venue, of course, but what absolutely sold us on the place, was Samantha. She was so sweet and SO WELCOMING! We never felt like we were being hussled. Coordinators at other venues can be so pushy and "salesy" which is such a turn off, but Samantha was nothing like that. She was so genuine, we had to get married where she was! For the entire year of planning, Samantha was there for me! No matter what I needed, she would try and help me as best she could. Any questions were answered, and phone calls or texts answered or returned right away. Heck, I even called her when I was freaking out about guests of horror, and she calmed me down! My own future hubby couldn't even do that! I really could not have survived the year of planning without her. As it got closer to the wedding, Samantha heard from me much more, and NEVER made me feel like I was bugging her. She helped me with vendors, gave me some great ideas (we served pies at our wedding thanks to her ingenious idea!) and let me bounce my own ideas off of her. She was not only a wedding coordinator, but a great friend! The day of the wedding, she was SUPERWOMAN! I do not know how she did it, but she managed to coordinate all of my vendors, bridal party, family, and STILL I felt like she was always next to me, asking how she could help me. I told her I wanted to add on a couple of pieces, and even with it being last minute, she was super accommodating and was able to add the pieces I wanted! I was simply requesting pricing and information and the person who responded lacked kindness. The response I received was extremely curt and, in my opinion, unnecessarily rude. After I provided the wedding location, I was told, "Please don't book last minute. We're very busy in the month of May," even though I had only contacted them for a quote and I hadn't even said, "I'm interested in your services." I completely understand that May is a busy wedding month and that availability can fill up. That's not the issue. The issue is the way a potential client is spoken to.Honestly, how are you supposed to make someone feel comfortable booking your services when the first interaction is so unfriendly and you're already telling them not to book last minute when they haven't even said they were booking yet? A potential client should be met with professionalism, courtesy, and basic kindness. That's how you build trust and make people want to move forward with your business.There are ways to communicate that May is busy and that clients should reserve early without making them feel like they're being scolded for simply asking for a quote.For me, the communication was enough to decide not to move forward. I wish them well, but based on my experience, I would not recommend them based on the customer service I received.

I asked Michelle for the list via email about a month ago since we had a few addresses for our guests that we added in last minute and couldn't dig up anywhere but her system and she offered if we changed our review she'd send us the data that belongs to us. When I said to her this is how we saw what took place and at the end of the day, it was one of our biggest days and how we felt should matter most and others should be allowed to have that knowledge and make the decision of whether or not she's a good fit for them, instead of taking the feedback and recognizing there are areas for her to improve on (as is clear from previous reviews with similar sentiments), she sent a long email back refuting our feelings on the matter and refusing to send anything more than a pdf list of the guest names who attended. Truly hope Michelle can learn from the experience in the future and remember that the industry she's in has a big impact on someone's big day.
