I'm not sure what happened here, but this pharmacy is a disaster. They are doing construction inside, so maybe that's part of it, but they don't answer the phone at all. So I visited in person, where there were 8-10 people in line, most of whom seemed to be upset about something. They never were able to locate my prescriptions, despite searching through multiple piles of baskets ON THE FLOOR. These guys won't be around d much longer unless something drastically changes here. I certainly won't be back. I don't see how they can be operating safely. read more

Absolutely horrible!!!! I purchased 2 compression stockings. I spent $206.94 I wore one pair and they ran, who knew compression stockings could run. Well my receipt clearly says you have 60 days to return unopened unused items remember one of my items was unopened unused. Well the lady who has an issue with curly hair tanned skin individuals tried to tell me that my receipt was an error, and they couldn't refund me. I pointed to the disclaimer at the bottom of my receipt and she did refund me at that point, as if my degree holding corporate office working self can't read. DO NOT SPEND YOUR $ here. Then I asked for a copy of my medical measurements and she declined me. I thanked her and left. This lady was extremely rude and had extremely poor customer service. I intend on finding the manager and or the corporate office of this Pharmacy. I will post this incident on every blog I can find. In Dallas Texas this type of behavior still runs rampant. She was rude, much much older, slightly humped with a bob. I want a formal public apology and my medical measurements. read more

Dougherty's used to be a lot better, I've always known to avoid the peak times when picking up prescriptions because the line gets horribly long and they are often understaffed at the pharmacy registers. Since the start of the year (2019) however, any time we go the line is extremely long and there is usually only one person working - tends to be 15+ minute wait only to find out the prescriptions aren't all ready or there is some problem. Our insurance information isn't kept consistently on file. We've filled with our new insurance for the same person, then the next month they processed without insurance saying they never received updated insurance jnfo. When our doctor sent over new electronic scripts to be filled that day for non-compounded medication, I went the next afternoon to pick it up (so as to avoid the busy afternoon/evening) only to find out they were still working on the one for my daughter and hadn't even started to fill the one for my son. 1 day plus 4 hours later, they still are not ready. It seems there is a terrible staffing issue at this pharmacy and a new system for prioritizing which prescriptions to fill needs to be identified. I've been a customer for 5 years, but since the start of 2019, I'm now questioning whether or not to switch pharmacies. read more

Horrible experience. They made a compound completely wrong -not mixed. This was a heart medication for a small child - literally life or death. I brought it back and they didn't have anyone to remake it for 4 days! I called the hospital pharmacist and begged them to do it. So Dougherty's - zero quality control, zero customer service, zero understanding of the magnitude of this failure. My child could have easily had a cardiac event and died because of their error. read more

This is the most incompetent pharmacy I have ever encountered. I needed a compounded drug so dropped off my prescription at the Dougherty's at Preston and Royal. It took a week to get my prescription. I had a similar prescription in which I used a different compounding pharmacy and it only took them a day to fill it. I used my prescription from Dougherty's for a month and then called in a refill. Several days after calling in the refill, the pharmacist called to say they had made a mistake on my first order. They formulated it with one tenth of the strength I was supposed to have. No wonder I was suffering from all the symptoms I had before. I was literally getting no medication. I had already made an appointment with my doctor to try to figure out why I was having those symptoms. Luckily for me this was not a life sustaining medication, otherwise I would be dead due to their incompetence. So the second time I at least got the proper medication. Coming to the end of my second month, I used the automated system to get my third month prescription. After 3 days and not a peep from Dougherty's, I called the automated system to check on the status. It said my prescription was ready. So I drive to the pharmacy on a Sunday only to be told they didn't get the refill order and would put in the queue on Monday. I'm going out of town for a week and needed my prescription before leaving since my current order only has a day or two left. That was the last straw for me. Tomorrow I'm calling the other compounding pharmacy I used before and am having my prescription transferred. I will never, ever use Dougherty's again. read more

Wife drove 45 minutes down because they told her her prescription was ready and then they told her when she got there it wouldn't be ready til next day. Every time we visit this neighborhood pharmacy to support local, they've lost our insurance information. Last visit, we received the wrong prescription. I don't understand how a pharmacy can be so wreck-less and irresponsible with someone's insurance information and private data, but whatever they are not doing with it, they surely are not holding onto it each time they write it down. read more

Was hung up on 4 times trying to figure out if my medicine was ready. The medicine I need is to make sure I can continue to carry my child since I'm a high risk pregnancy. They had my info and have never called me back. For being in a more prominent area of DFW you would expect them to be better at customer service. I think at this time I'm going to need to go through another pharmacy outside of Dallas to get better service and less rudeness on the phone. read more

I absolutely love Dougherty's. When I lived in Euless, I would make the drive just to fill 'scripts. There's often a bit of a wait and sometimes they don't call your name when your prescription(s) is(are) ready--but they now have a large monitor that lists the names (first letter of last, then first, so you have your privacy) as things become ready. GREAT collection of candles, small gifts/home decor knick-knacks, unique (and run-of-the-mill) cosmetics and toiletries; gift cards; candies; school supples and hospital/medical supplies. The only real negative, as mentioned by other reviewers, is that Dougherty's isn't open late (at all). Aaand, things run a bit pricey, but it's so much fun just walking around in there while waiting for your script to be filled! read more

So very sad!! Used to be an amazing pharmacy - personable and with great service! Now, it's horrendous. They tell you your medication will be delivered. It never shows up. Repeatedly. You try to call to find out anything - the hold can be over an hour, IF you ever get an answer at all. They rarely returns calls, either. Medications are often back ordered, when other pharmacies have them in stock. They tell you your medication will be ready for pick-up or actually is ready; you get there, and no action to fill it has been taken. You wait a long time for it. Nothing works as it should. Some good people are there - Marilee and a pharmacist named Naz and a couple of others - but the outcome is poor in spite of their good work. read more

Dougherty's is one of my favorite finds, but only for a few specific items. Pros: This Mom and Pop operation has your pills, potions and other assorted drugs right along side one of the best selections of gifts and unique knick-knacks in town, plus, they have some hilariously inappropriate cards that you'll never find at the "other" drugstores. Cons: They aren't open 24 hours, so make sure you get there during the daylight hours. As someone who once worked for a family-owned pharmacy, I can tell you that you'll pay out the waz for basic sundries like toothpaste, shampoo and Q-tips, so you're best off elsewhere for those items. Hazard of the Mom and Pop business, but they've got to make their money. Also, the old folks love them some Dougherty's so be prepared to navigate your way around a sea of Lil' Rascals, walkers and slow-moving geriatrics. Bless their hearts. read more

I've been through the mills of CVS & Walgreens; albeit very convenient when traveling & needing a script, but having a local support like Dougherty's has been much appreciated. Wayne & his team serves a large population well. Recently, they've upgraded computer/phone, which did cause some glitches. We hope that is smoothed out shortly. read more

Where's the zero star rating? Service is not this business' specialty. If you have a life-threatening illness do NOT use this pharmacy, I dropped off a prescription and was told it would be ready in three business days. After a week I contacted them and they told me it would be another week before it was ready. I contacted them again today and they promise it will be ready by 7 PM. Rather than drive all the way there only to most likely be given another excuse, I plan on calling first, but by the time they answer the phone, even if it is ready, there probably won't be time to get there by the time they close at 8. read more

They are profit driven rather than customer driven. They give you expired compound medications and slap a fake label on it to make you think it's still within date range. I took back my compounded medication that was labeled 3 months expired past the date I received it, but could tell that all they did was put a different label on it. The previous bottle had a stain indication that never changed & the product was discolored from the usual medications I received. It never lasted its usual length of quality. I will post a picture of it. I resigned as a customer as this was the last straw. I do not care to go back for a refund to even waste my time to wait for a long time on the phone to even be helped. Nobody wants to answer the phone. I am passed around when I call. It's like nobody knows how to do their job! They always told me that my medications would be ready the next day, but then another staff member would tell me it would be ready that same day. It is obvious there is no communication or possible they're very short staffed so receiving medications are never on time as promised. I am very disappointed as this pharmacy is not what it use to be. Maybe management has changed. I use to come here for quality products, but now the products match the poor customer service. Save your money and invest in more affordable comparisons. The past products and quality of service of what I received in the past has declined dramatically. The company is no longer what it once stood. It's a cheap knock off store calling itself a luxurious brand. Save your wallet. read more

If it wasn't for the diligence of Dougherty's pharmacist, my husband would be dead. His cardiologist over-perscribed a blood thinner to the extreme that my husband would have bled to death, had he taken as the doctor prescribed. Fortunately, it was caught by the pharmacist, who called the doctor and he corrected the prescription. Dougherty's staff has always been friendly, efficient, helpful and professional. I would have emailed this, however, there is no email address to be found ANYWHERE on the contact page of your website. On Tuesday, January 17, I called-in using the automated service to refill my prescription for Trimix. As soon as I arrived back from a business trip overseas, I took special care to call-in as early as possible, given that I knew we were leaving for our 10-day anniversary cruise on Saturday, January 22. Having heard nothing from the pharmacy, I called on Friday, January 20 to find out why I had not received a message to pick-up my prescription. The pharmacy assistant who answered the phone told me the compounding department had been closed for several days for "recertification" and that my prescription would not be ready until Tuesday, January 24th at the earliest. Thanks to Dougherty's and its incredibly poor communication and service, any intimate possibilities with my partner will be eliminated during our vacation. If the compounding department is going to be closed, wouldn't it be wise to notify customers when placing their orders? And beyond that, why the hell does it take more 48 hours to fill ANY prescription of ANY drug? You make the plea that we should keep neighborhood pharmacies alive, yet the pharmacy is not open on weekends, and it takes an eternity for you to fill a prescription when you ARE actually open. Thank God I have my other life-saving medications at CVS and am not depending on Dougherty's to fill them. And thankfully there are other compounding pharmacies in Dallas. I plan to take my business elsewhere, but first, I will be sharing this review of your business on Yelp, Twitter, Facebook and every form of social media I can find. We have used Dougherty's for the past 15 years. The pharmacy customer service keeps getting worse as time goes on. They are not able to locate a prescription when our doctor either calls in or sends electronically, hence me calling the doctor back, who always has verification from the pharmacy of the exact time they received the prescription. The staff is not professional - belching on the phone while talking to me, laughing and yelling to other staff members, and acting lazy and uninterested in helping. Management seems to not care. Such a disappointment and yes, I am transferring all of our prescriptions to a more reliable pharmacy. read more

I happened upon Dougherty's by chance. I passed it frequently for years but never thought to go in, after all, it was just a pharmacy. Boy was I wrong!! I'm a cosmetics and skin care junkie, and I have found so many interesting new things at Dougherty's. I originally went here because it was the closest place I could pick up "Relax and Wax No Scream Cream" which my aestitician recommended so that waxing wasn't so painful. I also picked up some fun travel accessories, such as a purple snakeskin-looking travel wallet. I definitely recommend stopping in for a look around if you're in the area. read more

This is my go-to pharmacy for any prescriptions. While I am there, I love to browse though their bathroom and skincare aisles. They will carry some items which their competitors are always out of. They are also friendly and more staffed than any other pharmacy around I have seen. Just be sure to get there before 8pm on weekdays (7pm on Saturdays an 5pm on Sundays...had to Google their website). **This is for Pickup only. I have never used delivery. I think their 2nd location help to ease the crazyness by spreading out the business. read more

Just got ripped off for $40 on a prescription. They no longer have a contract to fill scripts for 90 days through Express Scripts. Instead of telling me that and giving me the option to take a 30 day refill, they blamed the problem on what Express Scripts would allow. And now they're giving me a run around to transfer the prescription. New pharmacist says it's easier to have tour doc write a new script than to get one transferred from Dougherty's. Be prepared for long waits to get your scrips filled. It took 7 hours for them to fill scrips that were called in from the hospital after I had surgery. Then it took them over 60 hours to refill a script called in on a Saturday because "people called in sick and it was the weekend. " read more

They have a great selection of pharmacy items you would normally have to order on line and their prices are very reasonable.. One of the employees, an RD/CDE, helped me get a magnifier device for insulin syringes and was nice enough to give me 10% professional discount. I will always go there first. Best compounding pharmacy in the D/FW area; one of the very few sterile compounders. Old school pharmacy, heavy on the OLD. They cater to the local clientele, which is aging - so there are tons of geriatric supplies for your grandmother. PLUS, they have everything from crafts to supplements in their interesting gift shop. If a Cracker-Barrel and a Walgreen's had a love child - this would be it! read more

Would give zero stars if I could. First off, they never have the prescriptions ready when they tell you. I have had to come here 4-5 times for my kids prescriptions and every time I come they either don't have enough in stock and can only give us a partial fill (which makes us have to come back to pick up the rest and wait again) or they don't have it ready and I have to sit and wait for them to fill an order that they told us was "ready for pickup". Then in the past when the remainder of the order comes in they don't even call us for pickup. We have to call ourselves and ask if they have gotten it yet. I'd rather go to CVS because at least they are open 24/7 if I'm going to have bad service I'd rather have to convenience factor of going whenever I want unlike Dougherty's where I had to wait outside since they changed store hours and then weren't even ready when they opened. read more

There's a small section of this store dedicated to furniture and I sat down there after a long day doing some errands. After a while, an older woman came up to me and told me that I couldn't be sitting in the chairs in that section. I sat in those chairs not because I needed help, but because those chairs were free and available. I often think the best in people, but I question why in particular it seems she singled me out. There was no marker on said chair that seemed to indicate that I couldn't sit in that particular chair, nothing that said that I wasn't allowed to sit there. If I honestly wasn't allowed to sit there, I suggest to the store management to post a sign nearby, so that I don't do anything I'm not supposed to. I was genuinely kind to the woman. I said thank you with a smile when she asked me if I needed help. I tend to think the best in people but I question if she has a problem with people who look a little bit different than she does. If so, then this is something that store management desperately needs to address, especially in a big and diverse American city like Dallas. read more

Finally! A proper pharmacy!!! Staff was great! It felt like I was in old school Dallas. I was greeted on the way in and out. Andy and Amy helped me me with my prescriptions, were very patient, helpful, and compassionate. Not an easy feat when you have to deal with cranky, sick people all day while standing on your feet your whole shift! They have a section full of orthopedics and devices geared for both athletes and the older crowd. Their specialist helped me choose the right knee brace, and their onsite nutritionist/dietician gave me some great advise on their CBD products. If this was a store, It would be downtown Dallas Neiman Marcus in the way they take care of their customers. The place might look a bit outdated, but it feels like home. What can I say about this little gem of a pharmacy? You will find stuff here that you won't find anywhere else, in addition to cards & gifts and all kinds of "cool stuff". I purchased something from them a couple years ago and my dermatologist asked "Where did you find that?" When I said I found it at Dougherty's, they were like "Oh, of course." I also ran across something called "Rock Sauce" with a picture of a melting skull on it. Now if that doesn't pique your interest, nothing will. Turns out it's used for temporary relief of muscle aches for athletes. I could spend a whole day browsing through there stuff - and a whole lot of money too!! read more

I have been a customer of this drug store for over 30 years and my mother has been a customer for at least 40. The new ownership is awful. I went to pick up a prescription for my daughter that I received a text it was ready. Got there, waited in line with 14 people and 2 people behind counter, not only it was not ready they did not have it in stock. The tall pharmacist who is no longer there ( he only lasted a month or so) told me to call their other pharmacy on Coit and see if they had it. He was too busy???? After an hour waiting I had them transfer to Walgreens. Last week, I go to pick up a prescription for my mom that the doctor had sent in several weeks before. I waited in a line of 10 people waiting over 20 minutes and I was told they did not have the medication in stock and they lost their Silver Script Caremark contract. Thanks to Nita who has been there 12 years, went behind the counter and took care of for me. I immediately had the prescription changed to Walgreens. While standing in line a customer is yelling at the pharmacist because her medication was not ready after a week. I was then told by an employee that the day before 2 customers got in a fist fight while waiting in line. I decided to call the corporate office and tell them myself what happened. First off they have no one answering the phone so you have no idea who to ask for. I randomly started dialing extensions and a woman picked up and said I would need to talk to Jason Bailey the director of pharmacy. I have now called and left him 4 separate messages over a week, with no return call. Oddly enough he was at the store today and I was told he was too busy in the back for me to speak to him. The line today had 13 people waiting!! Go to Walgreens or CVS. read more

From what I understand, Dougherty's has served the community well for many years. Which makes it unbelievably sad to see what has become of it. We began patronizing them about a year and a half ago because they carry a drug my son was prescribed that few pharmacies carry. Since we started having all of his prescriptions filled there, we have seen the service there fall off a cliff. They never answer the phone, prescriptions are not ready when promised, orders are frequently wrong and the atmosphere there is absolutely toxic because every customer in the usually long, stagnant line is expecting there to be something wrong with their order when they are finally waited on. I am grateful that my son's doctor has prescribed an alternate, easier-to-find medication so that we can transfer our business elsewhere. read more

Beware of fraud! I went to get my RX, and put my debit card with a chip in the reader, and they said, oh you need to swipe it. Well, my card declined (I had money as I had just gotten paid).... the tech said, " oh yea, that happens, did you get a text from your bank?"..... well, I did not, so I tried my other debit card from the same bank, and once again, declined. I finally used my Visa credit card. When I got to my car, I called my bank and they informed me that it is a violation of a business to not use the chip if they are chip enabled. And, it is a red flag of a business if they will not use this. The Royal lane area is a huge area for fraud per my bank. So, I will not go back. Between this and the crummy customer service, this is not a great place. read more

Dougherty's WAS a very good pharmacy. The customer service is terrible. They were supposed to fill a prescription for us and they never called to tell us the prescription was being ordered. When I came to pick it up, they promised to deliver it the following day. They did not. The following day, I called them and could never reach the pharmacy. They do not answer the phone. So, I called again and chose retail from the auto attendant. Then, that person left me on hold indefinitely. I will never use Dougherty's again! read more

I would give zero stars if that was an option. The customer service is horrible - the worst of any pharmacy I have been to and that is saying A LOT. I have been in 3 times over the past couple of weeks. This first visit, they gave me the incorrect quantity of medication and the incorrect needles. The second visit I was the first in line and waited 25 minutes for someone to help me (while 9 months pregnant) as about 10 staff members chatted behind the counter and ignored the long line forming behind me. When I was finally helped by the one staff person attending to customers, I was told they couldn't fill the prescription until Monday so I needed to come back then. On the third visit when I came back on Monday as instructed, they told me the prescription had already been picked up (??) and could not fill it for me. Then they said they had no record of it (despite my doctor calling it in) and the man saying to come back. I will never visit this place again. The staff at CVS is much more competent and customer-oriented. Update: despite promising to deliver the medication to my house so I did not have to miss a dose, they did not and I have been on hold for 20 minutes, have spoken to 3 people, none of whom can find any documentation or resolution on my case. They said they would call me back. I'll hold my breath. Update 2: they never called me back but did deliver the medicine this evening. Too bad it was the incorrect quantity and I will need to get yet another prescription of it filled before my c-section next week. I am excited to do that anywhere but Dougherty's. read more

Went out of my way coming from out of town to pick up an important prescription and despite the store hours stated on Yelp, the store and pharmacy were closed VERY inconvenient and frustrating. read more

Have had my dogs script with this pharmacy for years. I never get a call to tell me her script is ready, I have to call. It is never ready, seems they don't do a thing until I call to see where the refill is. Every time this happens I go over my refill, the fact that it has not been taken care of and my poor dog goes days without her seizure meds! Although Doughertys is covenient to my home, that is the only convenience and I am going to be forced to change pharmacies. I am extremely unhappy, since I have given them multiple chances to correct this ongoing problem. read more

Not the best customer service. I called in a prescription over a week ago. They tried three times to FAX my doctor in regards to a refille. Instead of picking up the phone to call the doctor or to call me to let me know there was a problem, they waited until I called in to tell me there was a problem. This has happened before where I was told it would be ready, went in the store and it wasn't. I have also had them give me the wrong amount on a prescription. Check your order before you leave, or call 24 hours after a prescription to see if there isn't an issue. They are not going to make the effort to get back with you. read more
