I ordered a pizza at 5:51pm with a 1 hour delivery time (which itself is a bit ridiculous. I used to order from these people all the time and it was never this long of a wait) at 7:15 PM I called them to ask where my pizza was. The woman said it would be here in about 5-10 minutes. I told her I had been waiting almost 90 minutes for my order. She said we could offer you a discount off your next pizza. I said don't worry about it. You can just cancel the order and she said OK. Which tells me they hadn't even started making my pizza almost 90 minutes later. Their pizza is not that good to justify this kind of delay. I will not be ordering from them ever again. read more

I love Doughboys pizza! I drive all the way from Monroeville to get it! The Sicilian is so light and airy with just the right amount of crispiness! The spinach and chicken Sicilian is to die for!!!! The tomatoes I swear have been soaking in olive oil and garlic it's almost like a bruschetta! I also love the Big O on regular crust as it's absolutely amazing and the toppings are plentiful! Don't even get me started on the Juggernaut! Idk what is in the Shantz sauce but my mouth is watering just thinking about it! NEVER ORDERING FROM THEM AGAIN! They used to be great! Their prices, food and especially the service and delivery but recently the prices have gone up and everything else has gone down hill. Tonight for example I ordered the family special and a salad at 5:00 and was told it would be 45 min to an hour. At 6:30 I called to ask where my order was and was told it was on its way. Ten minutes later the driver showed up with a cold pizza and a bag with 2 crushed containers, one of the salad and the other of the buffalo wings, and the hoagie that had folded around them all of which was soaked in buffalo sauce. I refused the ruined bag of food and asked that it be remade, the driver called it in and said they were starting it and it wouldn't be long. A second driver showed up later with just a order of wings and not the salad or hoagie. At 7:30, 2 1/2 hours after placing the order, 3 delivery attempts, and 5 phone calls I finally got everything I ordered and was not even offered a discount for the aggravation and agitation. Came in before a concert! My fiancé suggested we come in because he's had pizza from here before and knew I HAD to try it. Ordered a small pizza (6 slices) we got half tomato half sausage. It blew my mind with how good this pizza tasted. Only was a 15 minute wait. Even the crust was great and i'm not a big crust eater. You can tell they aren't stingy with their toppings by my photo. The workers were vibing in the shop to some music and the guy at the counter was friendly. You can tell they all work well together with the flow they've got down. A woman who is a regular there left her wallet and the counter guy immediately called to let the husband know to call his wife and tell her to come back in to get it. Honesty is the best policy. Stopped to place a takeout order. This location does not offer dine in options. Was the typical atmosphere of a busy pizza place on a Saturday night. But staff was very friendly and helpful. I chose to go with two already made slices and the "Juggernaut" hoagie. The hoagie only comes in one size, 6 inches. Honestly if it was bigger it would just be a separate meal. This hoagie is huge. They load ham, turkey, bacon, French fries, American, Swiss, lettuce, tomato and shantz sauce into a 6" bun which was fresh and just stiff enough to hold the ingredients in place. The plain and pepperoni slices had equally balanced ingredients, with a light and crispy crust that was on the thinner side. The pepperoni was proportionate so it could be included in every bite. Ordered a Sicilian for takeout this evening and was able to swing by about 1hr later for pickup. Not too bad for a busy Friday night! Prices for the pizzas are pretty reasonable and our medium cheese was just under $13 before tip. Complaints from my experience tonight were that the cheese wasn't well distributed and so some pieces were loaded to the point that the crust wasn't even visible anymore and some pieces had no cheese at all. I did a bit of surgery to correct the issue, but if you've ever taken from one slice to give to another, you know it's nearly impossible to maintain the cheese/sauce/crust ratio and it tends to fall apart. Second issue for me was just how bready this pizza was. I like Detroit-style and deep dish pizzas, but this pizza had more bread and fewer toppings than I've seen elsewhere. read more

Live in WV and anytime Im in Pgh I have to make a pit stop to this gem. Friendly, hard working staff, and the sicilian pizza is the best I have ever had, bar none. The first thing you see when you walk in is a large staff of people functioning all in unison to provide an excellent product. They don't call this place Doughboy's for nothin'. Dare I say too much crust? I might be alone on that one but the crust took so much effort for me to eat (kind of chewy) so I just didn't eat it. It might've been better if it was more moist or had some type of butter/oil. Everything but the crust was good though! The sauce is sweet and different than others that I've tasted but I can't put my finger on why that is. They put a whole lot of toppings on the pizza so that is definitely a nice value! The reason i gave 4 out of 5 stars has more to do with the grubhub driver who ignored the one way street signs and drove down Espy avenue instead of going towards Edgehill and coming up Espy.
