    Donut deliciousness!
    Michele F.

I love donuts, but I've always been a bit leery of vegan food...that is, until I tried these donuts! They are yummy! A friend and I stopped in on Sunday afternoon, but were super disappointed to find that they had already closed. One of the women working there, who was super nice, gave us some donuts to go, probably because they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We were so surprised and thankful for her generosity. We shared the donuts with friends and we all agreed that they were delicious. I will definitely stop back in on my next visit to Seattle.

Delicious and so fresh tasting! We tried the Apple fritter and Vanilla Biscoff. No complaints definitely an artisan experience.

Visiting Dough Joy was joyful indeed. I tried their new special Mango Tajin donut. It has a cake base with mango flavoring on top and it's sprinkled with Tajin. The combination was very yummy. I also got the Caramelatto coffee. The service was very quick. The servers also gave us a couple of cake pops with the coffee. The place has a very relaxing vibe and fun music. It's also located conveniently close to the West Seattle Farmers Market if you're visiting that.

Stopped in for a quick sweet treat. Ambiance - nice and colorful with donuts to match, it's actually connected to a plant store that has all the seating. You can enjoy your coffee and donut as well as shop for some household plants! Service - people taking our order were really friendly and explained what a lot of the flavors were. Food - I normally don't focus on the drinks but the pistachio latte was delicious! Best I've had forsure, plus each coffee came with a donut hole to get you started. Donuts were solid, moist (worse thing is a dry donut).

Vegan doughnuts!! Vegan lattes! A variety of glazed and cake donuts all vegan ! You don't even have to be vegan. These are just straight up amazing donuts. I highly recommend all of their glazed cake. I love cake donuts, but I don't think that's the strong suit. Go with the glazed because they are delicious!!! I really enjoyed the French toast and the strawberry Matcha ! I've tried everything bagel donuts, but not a fan of the cream cheese. IMO. The coffees are good the lattes are great, super creamy! They also offer a wide variety of fun teas & boutique coffees blends. Service is great! Indoor & outdoor seating options too! Cute plant cafe vibes!

The doughnuts were okay. The doughnuts are cute and the flavors are fun but taste-wise. They are just average. I went early in the morning to buy them and they were kinda dry. So I don't know if that's how they're supposed to be with it being vegan, or if they had just been out for too long? Idk. All the workers were kind though, so I'm appreciative of that.

The aesthetic of the shop and the little details are amazing and the service is so friendly and easy going. I really enjoy the selection of donuts they have. Love the rise on the donuts and they're nice and fluffy Top favorites: lemon lavender, apple fritter, maple bar, chocolate churro old fashion Too sweet for me: french toast, vanilla biscoff, everything but the bagel (too much glaze for a sweet/savory combo

OMG, I've heard such great things about Dough Joy that I'm so happy I finally got to experience these delectable donuts on my recent trip to Seattle. And honestly, who cares that these are 'vegan'? Not having any animal products in the dish doesn't necessarily mean it's not delicious. Make sure you look out for an online coupon before coming! I managed to find a deal that was 4 doughnuts and 2 drinks for $20, which saved me a pretty penny when it comes to having all these treats. There were some rockstar standouts including their Bavarian Cream (vanilla cream filled and topped with chocolate icing) and their Turtle Cheesecake (another chocolatey, savory donut). They rotate weekly specials so I hope you get to try these two. For our drinks, we got a Lavender Latte and a Pink Powerpuff. Both drinks really hit the spot and fit their entire look and feel. It even came with a small donut hole that went through the straw - super cute! Shoutout to their Pride Donut because it was filled with glitter and I was living for the aesthetics.

We went out of our way to go here since they have started carrying a variety of GF doughnuts. We arrived at the Capital Hill location around 4pm on a Sat and they still had plenty of GF and regular. They were not out of any which is crazy for a donut shop!! This really is the only donut shop in the area that offers more than one flavor of GF donut. They have 6 and have them at both locations. The photo shows the size (small like palm of your hand) and flavors. They are very good flavor-wise and texture-wise. I do recommend trying them all since I was surprised with what I enjoyed the most (tiramisu which I don't typically like). The regular donuts have an amazing cake texture and are very big and thick. The only difference between all of them is the topping / flavor - the base is the same. They are perfectly flavored. Not too sweet like most. We bought 6 different kinds then cut them up so everyone could try each donut. Highly recommend this method. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back!! (And everything there is vegan which you would never know flavor or texture-wise)

Gluten-free carrot cake donut (January 2024). Moist cake and delicious.
    Cora L.

I loved Dough Joy donuts very much before I developed a gluten sensitivity. It's one of the things I missed most! So you can imagine my joy when I saw their gluten-free announcement. And the carrot cake GF donut DID NOT disappoint!!! It was available for walk-in customers (January 2024), and the cashier mentioned they'll add more flavors in a couple weeks. Their GF donuts are moist inside and delicious all over. It was totally worth the wait because they really nailed their recipe. Thank you, Dough Joy!!!!

    Lemon filled doughnut!
    Lana S.

To be totally honest, doughnuts are rarely my treat of choice. However, when I make the trek over to Alki Beach, I always make a pit stop at Dough Joy. Their doughnuts are so delicious. You would truly never know that they are vegan, as everyone else has said. I always like trying the different flavors (and they're constantly coming out with new fun seasonal flavors!). I love supporting vegan businesses and Dough Joy is amazing. Today I got the lemon filled doughnut as I'm obsessed with lemon and ...10/10. Fantastic. The shop is also connected to an adorable plant store. The two employees working today when I was there were just the most lovely humans. Big fan!

    Couldn't resist!

Cute little shop, with a good variety of choices. Really appreciate the bite sized options as well. Service was friendly and patient (which is nice when trying to decide what to buy!)

I'm not vegan and I hate to say it, but I am generally skeptical of vegan baked goods, but if I didn't know beforehand I never would have guessed Dough Joy was vegan. I went twice in one week because I'm in a love affair with donuts. I really like the space and the attached Botanic at the Disco nursery. The donuts here are somehow extremely fluffy and delicious, but I would stick with the more basic flavors, as the adventurous flavors were a little overly sweet. I tried the cinnamon sugar, butterscotch maple, and raspberry filled donuts and favorite was definitely the cinnamon sugar.

And then a coffee doughnut which has coffee-flavored icing. The icing is very sweet and the sugar overpowers the coffee flavor. We decided to drop by after eating lunch in the area for a sweet treat afterwards, then ended up picking up a whole dozen... Some notes for a couple that I tried: Maple Bar ($4.99) - Hmm.. Not that fluffy or light. Instead or being airy, it's more dense and has a kind of springy chew. The glaze is sweet and gives off a heavy maple fragrance, an indication they use real maple syrup in the glaze. Maple bars from other places are usually disgustingly sweet with basically no maple flavor - this one is sweet but more well balanced. I think the texture is definitely different from a typical yeast donut. I wonder if it's just because it more difficult to make vegan yeast donuts vs cake donuts? It's a different type of yeast donut, but still very good. (4/5) Chocolate Peanut Butter ($4.45) - Good peanut butter flavor in both the topping and glaze. I think the donut base is also peanut butter but it could be contamination from the glaze. The base isn't very sweet and is kind of almost savory in flavor. The donut is dense but not crumbly and instead very moist. Not really crusty, so not too much textural difference. I think it's baked rather than fried. Still very sweet. (4/5) Devils Playground ($4.45) - The donut base is dense with rich chocolate flavor, and coated with a chocolate ganache of just the right thickness. I hate it when donuts just have a smear of topping to make the donut look attractive, but does barely anything flavor wise. This one, on the other hand, is richly flavored. (4/5) Chocolate Raspberry ($3.65) - This is my favorite, same chocolate cake donut base as above but with bright berry notes and specks of seeds. The tangy berries do wonders to temper down some of the sweetness. (5/5) French Toast ($3.65) - My least favorite by far. Covered with peanuts (which is fine), but the cake donut base or perhaps the glaze tastes heavily earthy, like an overload of cinnamon and nutmeg. (2/5) People who expect the exact same texture as a non-vegan donut, both the cake and yeast types, will probably be disappointed. If I just think of these donuts as their own thing, they're actually quite good. There's another donut shop that I prefer down the street, but Mighty-O Donuts certainly isn't a bad choice for a sweet treat.

I got the chizu matcha latte with stir fried boba, which came out to almost $9 total. Bold of them to charge a convenience fee on top of sales tax to make the drink super expensive. I opted for 50% sugar and there is absolutely no option to request less ice. A supposedly regular had to verbally flag to the worker to not add ice, which I probably should do, but at least please add it as an option so that it is more convenient. I guess they want to cut costs and give us less drink? For 50% sugar, I don't think they respected the customizations as I saw the worker just pour premade matcha latte to the cup and then added the cheese foam on top. When I tasted my drink, it was grossly sweet. Boba was undercooked so I ended up having to toss a lot of the boba out, and the boba was not cheap at $0.95 for the topping. Fortunately, when I got my drink, they had a few mochi donut circles I got to sample, and I am glad they sold out of the mochi donuts as the mochi donuts did not have the chewy texture that is present in mochi donuts. I dodged a bullet from committing to a pricey $4+ mochi donut - like other places charge way less for one for better quality
