Great local donut shop that has been voted best of the valley for multiple years (and for good reason!). Small shop with a lot out in front, and you are greeted with a wall of sugar when you walk in. Service is always friendly and helpful. They have a standard rotation of donuts but sometime there are some special ones. The donuts are this soft pillowy texture on the inside and just the smallest amount of bite on the outside. The icing can be a little overly sweet (if you're sensitive to that sort of thing) depending on the flavor but I've found that the passion fruit is always a solid choice. I also enjoy their maple bacon and marionberry. I'll have to try their filled donuts next. They also have savory croissants, get the jalapeno ham and swiss if they are available! Overall, definitely my favorite sweet treat location in Corvallis. read more

Donuts are amazing, so many flavors... sweet and savory. They also make sourdough bread on Saturdays which is also very very good. Often they sell out of their bread before noon. I highly recommend this donut shop over any other locally. read more

The entire top display shelf was of vegan donuts!! They're soft and airy, fried brioche type. For a classic donut place, these are exceptional. They still don't compare to Doe in Portland, but for a standard donut that I could actually eat I was pretty thrilled. The guy working was nice, and the passionfruit glaze was outstanding! read more

Not bad and not great.Super friendly staff. I asked Siri for a close bakery on my way back Hwy 99W to Amity. The directions led me to a small mini mall and I had to look carefully to see the name. I went inside and saw a not big collection of donuts and bars. I ordered the maple.coconut and a chocolate donuts and what they call a croissant type muffin filled with a vanilla cream inside. Back home I sampled the wares and was struck on how bland and less sweet everything was. Think the opposite spectrum on the sweetness scale compared to Voodoo Donuts in Portland.The best part was the vanilla cream injected into the croi-muffin but even that was on the mild and bland side. read more

I've been by this shop twice now. I must say they have the best donuts in town. The doughnuts are larger than any you will get elsewhere. I tried their vanilla bean cruffin today (see pics) and I must say I enjoyed it. I talked with one of the bakers and they bake fresh each day. This place is dangerous. Their Boston Creme donut is just so good -- that ganache! Also, they have vegan donuts! I have a child with egg-allergy and it's tough trying to find places we can order from that they, too, can enjoy. I think I even prefer the vegan coconut donut to their glazed. These donuts were amazing!! You can definitely tell that the bakers put in a lot of thought and work into each type of donut. The croissant donut "Cronut" is a must have and their maple glaze donut was perfect on a cozy cold day. The counter person was very friendly and most of the donuts were still stocked up by 9:30am (probably cause we beat the Sunday church crowd), and unbelievably still warm and fresh. A HUGE shout-out to Avery who so graciously helped me place a special order for a 10" "birthday" doughnut that I needed in 24 hours to be picked up from the Salem bake shop! I could not get ahold of anyone in the Salem shop so I rang up the Corvalis shop and Avery took my order and said she would send it via text to the owner and the manager in Salem. She reassured me she would do everything in her power to get it done and she did!! The back up plan was that she said they could bake it on Sunday in her Corvalis shop and she would leave a note for the baker should I need that done. The sweet baker called me Saturday to see if the need was still there. It was not because the beautiful doughnut was done as ordered and ready for pick-up in Salem. Avery was so patient and helpful - and I feel went above and beyond to help me out!!! read more

I don't write reviews often, but I have to for this shop. I had this vanilla bean cruffin, that was maybe the best thing I've ever put in my mouth, today. Everything about this treat was perfect; the flaky croissant pastry, the crispy crusty bottom, the soft layers inside and the just-sweet-enough smooth cream. I'm not a huge sweets eater, but this thing I came back to for more bites throughout the day, it's enormous, so I could do that. The staff is really nice, and the food is even better. My absolute favorite is the ham and cheese. I get these all over, but have never had one this good. I'm used to a couple thin lunch meat slices, but this had a thick slice of ham, like a ham steak. It was absolutely amazing! read more

Based on a lot of the reviews, I had to try a doughnut from Dough Hook. Sadly, it was a big disappointment. After waiting in line for more time than I had to spare, I decided on a Maple Glazed doughnut, although a Maple Bacon doughnut is what I really wanted. Person behind the counter was friendly and helpful and offered to fry up some bacon if I had a few minutes to wait. I didn't, and walked out with my Maple Glazed doughnut. When I got home and put the doughnut on a plate, my husband's eyes got huge--just like the doughnut! It better be tasty, I thought, because there was a lot of it. First bite, I could hardly swallow it. It tasted somewhat rancid, like the oil it was cooked in had been around for too long. The maple icing didn't have any maple flavor that I could taste. It was just sweet. $3.25 is too high a price to throw away, but that's what I did and the doughnut along with it. Sorry, Dough Hook, I won't be coming back. read more

I really wanted to like this place because there's no good doughnut shops elsewhere in Corvallis, but I'm disappointed. We got the maple bacon and crème brûlée doughnuts and both had an off putting flavor. My husband says it tastes like banana to him, but I think it tastes somewhat like fish or dirty frying oil .
