This is a beautiful hotel. The pool was the best part. However, we experienced something that has never happend at any other hotel we have stayed at. We arrived around 11 am and was told it was not check in time yet. We said, thats ok, understandable, but we would like to use the pool in the meantime. We were told we had to pay $50 for an early check in to use the pool. I have never had to do that at any Marriott hotel. I wonder if this is just a Hilton thing. We paid, since we arrived early to specifically use the pool. However, we were bummed about that. The room was nice and we enjoyed the bar downstairs. Shawn is a great and friendly bartender. We may stay here again, but maybe you can change that fee for Hilton Honors members. read more

Absolutely worst experience ever staying at a hotel. Prior to booking and paying for the room. We called to confirm that we would be able to have late check out due to our flight being later in the day. They confirmed we could. Then when we tried to check in. It took 2 hours for us because they wanted a $200 deposit but wouldn't take any major paying cards or apps. We had to transfer money, go to the bank, pull it out and deposit it in another account for only the few they would accept. At check in we asked again if we can get late check out and once again they said yeah shouldn't be a problem just for us to call in the morning. So we called in the morning to make sure and they told us no. So now we had to pack all of our stuff and sit in the lobby for hours before we can even leave. This hotel and staff are not good to their guest and made this whole pit stop for us the worst experience ever! SMH Update: the head boss lady called figured it out was so sweet and made it right. The phrase ALL HAT NO CATTLE pops into my mind. Lovely facility that seems to be suffering from very bad management. Two hour PLANNED blackout for maintenance that nobody told the guests about. Called about a microwave. They don't have them in the rooms. Ok. Next day a nice guy came to take the microwave out of my room. WHAT?? And the employees were nice enough but seemed frightened. I travel quite a bit up to this area for work in film. I have stayed at many places and my experience at this Doubletree is always awesome. The last two times I was lucky enough to be helped by an employee named Shon. Once he was my bartender. Pouring great drinks. Giving great conversation. And serving delicious food. I love their fries here. The hamburger is great too. The 2nd time here, most recently, Shon was working the front desk. It was a month later and it meant a lot he remembered me. He was still his sweet self with a big bright smile. Not fake at all. Very genuine. He is also very kind and respectful. Shon goes out of his way to make your stay great. Really appreciate him and thank you for having such a wonderfully ran hotel. I look forward to returning again. read more

This is a very strong 4 stars. This hotel is not the normal one we stay in when we come up to see family and friends, but it is definitely our new back up. Pros: they did an AMAZING job rehabbing this place from the hotel it was before. The decor is very nice and quirky artistic style. The rooms are extremely functional and well set up. Parking is easy and free (and their security guard actually patrols all night long). It is right next to the freeway, but no freeway noise! It is actually very quiet. Water pressure/heat in the showers is top notch! The front desk staff is helpful and friendly. The warm chocolate chip cookies are so good! It is also in easy walking distance of places to eat and stores. Very close to the hospital, if you need it and only 5 minutes away from the mall. Cons: The key cards only work about half of the time, the location is right by a lot of construction so getting out of the parking lot can be a little hairy (but should improve once the construction is done) and the rooms don't have any way to heat food up at all (there is one microwave near the elevators on each floor). I do think the towels need to be replaced, they are clean but have lost their "whiteness". The last issue is the location would be fine but there is a very sketchy Motel 6 right across the street and while they share a driveway with a storage facility and Enterprise car rental the next motel over is pretty rundown. (You shouldn't really have any issues if you are driving but I would be careful walking past that location-we lived in Palmdale for many years and almost always saw the LASHD patrol cars/SUVS on calls there or at the Motel 6). Overall a very solid contender at a good price. Their bar/food area looks cute, but we did not get a chance to try it out this time! They have a 24 hour small store open as well. We did not try the pool, but will if we are here in summer. read more

Had the best stay here, even though we had to cut our trip short by a day because the pending hurricane. The hotel was super clean, pool and pool area was nice and the staff was great. Everyone on the staff was amazing from the beginning, upon arriving we were greeted by LaShantine who was amazing. Free and ample parking, a gym with everything you need, a nice breakfast selection, business center and pool. It is about an hour and some change away from the airport. If you don't mind the drive and want to feel safe in LA I highly recommend it. The gym thermostat should be able to adjust for guest though. This is a property that is not worth the Hilton name. Room was OK - though I had booked a king suite in order to hold a meeting, and the "living room" only contained a tiny table. No desk in the bed room. They only do housekeeping on request unless you are staying four days. Breakfast is laughable. I've come to ignore "oatmeal" at hotels which, true to form here, is watery. But the service supposedly starts at 6 am. Most mornings they didn't have the complete service done till ~6:20, and this morning it was barely done at 7. And even so, a paucity of more healthful alternatives for those who don't want eggs/potatoes/sausage/bacon. I suppose this is the best in Palmdale, but it is more a Ramada than a Hilton property. read more

Mixed bag of feelings about this place. It's my first time staying here (I understand this is a remodeled Ramada). I walked in the front lobby around 2:30pm and....it's a ghost town. No one is around. Luckily, I had the good ol Hilton digital key, so I figured I'd just let myself into my room-- which took a minute to find the elevators. Locating them is not intuitive. On my way to the elevators, I passed by the pool, which was beautiful and EMPTY! My high hopes were crushed by the notice on the door to the pool stating that the pool was closed. No reason why was given, nor a re-opening date. :( I got off the elevator and noticed weird aviator-themed decor in the hallway. Opened the door to my room and saw a weird aviator theme continued into the room along with a decor style I can only describe as 70's mod. The rooms are not carpeted, but the room was very clean, so that part was good. The TV was on, and it was set to a personalized welcome message with my name on it which was awesome! Unfortunately, my TV experience got worse from there. When I toggled to "Live TV," I could get audio for the TV channel, but the picture was frozen on a movie scene from the USA channel. On every channel. I reported this to the front desk around 3pm, and they offered to send "maintenance" up to the room, but I was leaving for a business presentation and prefer to not have strangers in my room when I'm out. The front desk representative said he didn't know how long maintenance would be on the job that day. I returned to my room at 8pm and still can't watch the TV. The bathroom has a tissue holder on the counter, but no box of tissue. Pros: clean room, hot water Cons: Can't watch TV, no tissue, pool closed for seemingly no reason, where the hell are the elevators, and wtf is this aviator/ 70's decor read more

The front counter guy Shon is terrific. He gave me a free warm cookie when I arrived. Delicious. No complimentary breakfast. It's 15.99. They have an on property restaurant open from 5-10 pm. I should have checked before I booked. My bad bad. I'm here just one night. I'll find a place for breakfast on the way home. Boozheeee people designed the rooms. Very nice, but I'm not a Biff, so it's not really me. Unfortunately, I don't have an engineering degree from MIT which means I can't figure out the TV. If I was staying longer, I might ask for help from a tekkie, but I'm on a tight schedule. It's not that important. I'll just stay on my smart phone and go to bed early. As a frequent guest, the hotel is super clean. The gym is well equipped and clean. The staff are super friendly. The food and drinks are great. In particular, Devin, in the bar/restaurant, is AMAZING! He is personable, attentive, and provides stellar service. He connects with his regulars and makes everybody feel like somebody. Terrible ant infestation and the most disgusting way of giving extra towels. I am a lifetime diamond member so needless to say, I stay at hotels a lot. This is by far one of the most disappointing Doubltree Hotels that I've stayed at. I had two rooms because I was traveling with kids for a tournament. I requested adjoining rooms but they said I didn't book two beds (nothing was available for that) so they gave me rooms side by side. Ok. Check in was at 3, but one one the rooms wasn't available until after. Once I entered the available room, I noticed ants. They were on the walls, the nights stand and headboard. There isn't any way they weren't noticed while cleaning the room. I had to ask three times for this to be addressed, I even asked them to change the room. They finally came and sprayed an entire can of bug spray and expected me to sit in the room with kids. Since I had to leave for a while, I figured they would have it aired out by the time I returned. They didn't. The smell was unbearable so I called them and the brought up and some type of air blower. I couldn't sleep in the room. I asked them to change the room but they insisted they were sold out. It's not like everyone checked in at the same time. (My room could have been changed and they could have addressed the ants and prepared it for a later arrival; they didn't.). Because I couldn't sleep in the room , I felt I shouldn't have had to pay for it, Melissa said her manager was only willing to give me a $60 credit. WTF! The next day I asked for extra towels in the one room that was ok, they were placed on the carpet, without being in a bag, outside the door. How gross is that?! read more

Event and Accommodations. Hosted an XMas event @Doubletree-Palmdale location last weekend and IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! Tracy and Etelvina really understood my vision and executed to perfection, they suggested a local vendor for equipment rental, he was professional, on time, and delivered our wants and needs, everything from the room set up to the food, OMG the Food was SPECTACULAR!!! Primo & Mae - the food was delicious, exceeded our expectations. Front desk staff was welcoming and the cookies....(if you've never had a Doubletree cookie, you're missing out on life) Devin our bartender was attentive, the drinks were REALLY GOOD, he was fun and festive, GREAT ENERGY. My sister's and I came to Palmdale for our grandmother sister 99th birthday party from Las Vegas. Upon arrival we were impress with the bar & lounge area. Hotel appeared to be clean despite the area. Once in the room we looked around pretty decent. How ever the shower had several hair strings inside which was a BIG thumbs DOWN! Being we were only there for one night & each of us had took a shower that morning we decided to not complain because we were going to get dress early that morning and shower once we got back home. Cool... moving on. Now we head downstairs the following morning and decided let's see what they're serving for breakfast before jumping on the road. Ok looks decent... my sister notice a sign stating they charge for brkfst ok no problem we already began loading our plates so we'll just pay for it. Which was unusual for us because we're Hilton Honor members and we've been to many hotels & has NEVER been charged. So the host ARIANA pops in several times. Her entire attitude was NASTY as if we just walked in off the streets to come eat. She rudely approach the table asking if we're going to charge to the room. I said no we'll pay cash. She then walks away then comes back and put the bill on the table & says "per the front desk, they want to know my room number" I said for what if I'm paying cash. So I go to the front desk and the woman there said she DID NOT ask ARIANA TO DO THAT. THEN ARIANA COMES BACK TO GET PICK THE CHECK BACK UP AGAIN AND STARTS TO WALK AWAY WITH IT THEN I SAID HEY I'M NOT CHARGING THAT AND SHE JUST RUDELY DROPS IT AND RUN TO THE FRONT TO LET THE LADY UPFRONT KNOW THAT WE MAY DO ACOMPLAINT ABOUT HER... in which I did... I wish I had gotten the lady at the front desk name to recognize her for her professionalism.... awesome customer service. So therefore I could have moved on from the hair in the shower but I'm BIG on customer service & I will not tolerate such ugliness when I've done nothing wrong and paying with my hard earn money.
