We eagerly waited for Blomgren Ranch to open their 2027 calendar. We toured the venue, fell in love, and met with Elena in April 2026 to sign our contract and pay our deposit for a May 2027 wedding. Relieved to have our dream venue secured, we moved forward with booking all of our other vendors, sending out Save the Dates, and finalizing our printed invitations. In late October, our wedding planner asked if we had heard anything about Blomgren canceling 2027 contracts. Since no one had contacted us, we immediately reached out to request a copy of our contract. On October 31--just two months before 2027--Elena casually called to inform us that the owners had "just decided" they no longer wanted to host weddings in 2027. She offered no real explanation other than stating our deposit was being refunded, which arrived a few days after the phone call. Had we not reached out ourselves, I have no idea when--or if--they would have bothered to notify us. Because of their sheer negligence and complete lack of communication, we are now scrambling to find a new venue on short notice, facing booked vendors, and forced to pay out-of-pocket to reprint customized invitations. Furthermore, during our initial meeting, Elena made disparaging remarks about their neighboring venue, Jimenez Ranch, yet Blomgren's business practices are vastly worse. Disregarding signed contracts and blindsiding couples with zero notice is unacceptable. Save yourself the heartbreak and stress--do NOT book with Blomgren.
