We were there July 17, 2021 for one night. This hotel appears to have been hit hard by COVID. No restaurant, but there was a passable grab and go breakfast. The gal working that was rude and not friendly. The gal who checked us in at the front desk wasn't very nice, either. I think she was overwhelmed, but no excuse to not be friendly. We checked in on our app the night before. Hubby is a diamond, but they didn't seem to care. One of our two adjoining rooms was not ready at checkin. We arrived right at 3:00. After 25 minutes, we went up to the room we did have and joined our other family. Then we went into our room as the door was propped open. It looked like the only thing left to do was put bedding on the bed. There was no housekeeper anywhere to be seen. They finally came 45 minutes after checkin. My biggest complaint was the lack of friendliness of some of the staff. The gentleman and the blond who came on around 3-4 the front desk were very nice. The pools were about as gross as I have ever seen at a hotel. They were very cloudy and the outside one had algae or mold really bad on the sides of the pool. Our grandkids were very disappointed, but no way! The beds are fantastic. I'm trying to find the pillows, but they seem to be sold out in king at the moment. read more

Pretty disappointed with my stay here. First they have a shortage on towels. You are Hilton. This is what you do. Do better. 2) Yesterday the water to our room was turned off for 6 hours. Maintenance issue that was eventually fixed but still a major pain. 3) Went to front desk to get quarters to do team uniforms for the laundry. They don't have quarters at the front desk and the only place to get them is at the bar at the hotel which is supposed to open at 5pm. Unfortunately the bartender hasn't showed up for work and we're going on 7:15 so no where to get quarters in the hotel to do laundry. Really? How about the manager just figure out a solution? 4) lastly they have one washer and dryer in the entire hotel and it's out of service. Of course it is. Just like a lot of other things in this hotel. Do better.,,,, I won't be back and can't wait to check out of this place read more

This place is gorgeous - I mean for a Double Tree it's tops. Have you been to other Double Trees? The one in Asheville NC is more like a Dairy Museum. My room is clean and well appointed but the bathroom is small. The restaurant has no personality but could be the best quesadilla I ever had at a hotel and waitress Ashley was sweet and attentive. Bar is expensive but it is Augusta. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and was cheaper then the old school Hampton they are replacing up the road. Happy I stayed - reviews are harsh considering how nice this place is. Plus they have Woodford Reserve Double Oak though pricey at $24 for a double. $19 for a normal Woodford double on the rocks. read more

First placed in room 627. Turned air to 65 , after 6 hours room was still 76. Air was cool at best, never cold. One of the bathroom lights was burned out, called in to front desk at 1630, was never replaced during stay. Went to iron shirt, ironing board broken ( scissor legs were off base, able to rig to bed height/sat on bed to iron shirt). At 1930, called front desk to request new room to temperature. Gentleman was very nice and brought keys for room 319. Upon entering room, door handle for closet feel off in my hand when attempt to open closet and hang shirt. Went to restroom 2 hours later to find a roach crawling across the floor. Front desk attendant the next morning was a poor excuse for customer service. I stood at front counter for 4 minutes before he got off of his phone and approached the counter from seating area next to the exterior windows. He appeared to be texting or on an app, not conversing. He did not greet me or say anything. Looked sit me and shrugged his shoulders. I said I was checking out. He held his hand out for the keycard , still mute. I tossed the dead roach placed in tissue on the counter and stated that their hotel has roaches. Asked if he was a manager, which he replied no, they come in at 8. He offered no apology or concern. I left and waited for the van. read more

I didn't have a good experience here in a 4 night stay, including two non-working lamps in my room, making for a difficult in-room work experience, and I also woke one morning to no power. They were unable to re-set the breaker so I had to get ready and try to iron using the one outlet that worked (in the bathroom). One day I had to get a new room key 4x since they were having problems with the system. They offered to bring me a new one if I called from upstairs but each time I called down, they said they didn't have anyone to come up. Don't offer if you can't/won't do it. Also don't bother using the front desk staff. I asked for vegetarian suggestions and neither gal understood that a vegetarian doesn't eat meat. Seriously. Breakfast buffet is great - if you eat meat + infinite carbs. Fruits looked pretty blah. I ended up grabbing a cereal bar to go and calling it even. One final annoyance - the day before I was to check out, I received someone else's room statement/summary. The day I checked out? Mine was blank with no $ amounts and it took about 30 minutes to get one re-printed. This would be a one-star review, except the bar had some great happy hour specials every day. They would have been even greater if I was actually charged the happy hour price....but twice I was charged the regular price. read more

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice and both times we had a great experience. This last time, however, the water in the shower in our suite was really difficult to get the temperature right. The water would come out of the bath faucet and feel perfect and then come out of the shower head ICE COLD! Other than that our stay was great and the staff is always nice and friendly. read more

They only get 1 star b/c the staff at the front desk was nice. My child noticed a bug crawling in the bed. I sprayed all our belongings w/ Lysol. Toilet had a stained ring. Bug was floating in the top of water I was served at breakfast. They fail for cleanliness!!! Asked for towels and washcloths; never received them. Stayed at this hotel while attending a 3 day business meeting held at the DoubleTree. The room was very clean and comfortable. However, the rooms and hotel in general need some serious updating/remodeling. The hotel food was surprisingly very good and the service was excellent. The bar was mediocre but relatively good service. Lastly, the bus service was a great amenity and very prompt and convenient. Oh and of course the warm cookies were delicious! read more

I showed up and was offered a cookie. Which is great but I have a nut allergy so I could not accept since the cookie had walnuts in it. I went to the room, when I opened the door I was surprised that they did not have any windows at all. I started to unpack when I noticed something by the night stand. It was two almonds on the floor. As I mentioned, I have a nut allergy so this was a bit concerning. I was going to just get over it but when I turned on the TV the sound and picture quality was so poor that I decided to call and ask for another room. They gladly switched me and at least that TV worked. I was a little grossed out by this place though. It's in need of some serious renovations. read more

Mother's Day hell. First off had a reservation for 1:30, didn't get day until 2:10. Our reservation for for 10, they made us squeeze at a table that was big enough for 8 (at most). Most of the food was not good. The only thing that was decent, was the slightly over cook prime rib. Everything else was extremely over cook. The only reason I gave them one star, was yelp would let me post this without a at least a star. They really should consider closing there kitchen and have the food catered in. read more

My in-laws just stayed here on a recent visit. I recommended the Doubletree as I've been in their convention rooms and bar during a couple of monthly meetings. The lobby is nice, open and fairly updated. The front desk staff seemed to know what they were talking about, although I think the guy taking my reservations was new and had issues spelling my last name. Overall the front desk seemed as if they were all operating independently of each other, but got the job done. Upon entering the room, I felt an overwhelming dark, damp sense and the decor smacked of the '80's. My in-laws were happy with it but having worked for the hospitality industry, I felt could have had a little more in the way of better looking lamps and other decor. We had the brunch buffet on Sunday, which was ok--the standard fare applied here with nothing really outstanding except for the sausage. I was craving coffee and it took what I felt too long to get a pour of joe and then waited again for cream. Since I am on a high-fat diet, I asked the server the fat content of the b'fast bar yogurt and upon his return said that there was "nothing in it". Not exactly what I asked but tried again with the same empty answer, so I just decided not to press the issue. I'm not sure that I would recommend this hotel again for a place to stay--like I mentioned before, the lobby, conference rooms and bar are very good. I would recommend to my visitors this Doubletree just for the convenience factor, as I live within 5 minutes from this particular location. read more

For breakfast, I ordered omelets and some toppings were missed, and some containers for buffet kept empty. I went to Doubletree today for lunch with my family. The wait staff was friendly, but the food was not the best. This was not my first time dining at Doubletree. My last time dining here was about 2 years ago. I remember the food being much better. Today the food was "meh". Exactly...nothing to write home about. I wish there were other meat options. Having a seafood option would have been nice. There was tuna salad, but I didn't want a cold meat with my warm food. The two meat options didn't work for me. There was fried chicken and something that I think was supposed to be meatloaf. Oh, by the way this was on the buffet (buffets aren't really my thing but it was for the fellowship). I tried eating the black-eyed peas, but for some reason they were sweet. At first I thought my sweet potato casserole was mixed in the peas. That was not the case! I was so confused by the taste. The macaroni and cheese was salty. The water and tea were good. I don't think I will return. read more

When myself and my grandbaby walked in to check in the young lady was not friendly at all. She said what's your name I told her my name she then says 1 or 2 keys my response was 2 keys. Hands me the keys and 2 cookies and walks off from the desk did not tell me where elevator where or nothing. I get in the room with my 4 year old grand son and he says grand ma its not clean I said what's not clean he says the toliet i looked at the toilet it had urine on the back of the seat and poop under the lid thank goodness I carry cleaning supplies with me when I stay at a hotels. Then I go give my grand son a bath and and stopper for the tub was broke end up sticking a rag in the hole. I go to run the water a bunch of black stuff is coming out. I just turn the water off and wipe him down with wipes. I am so disappointed. I paid Hilton price for roach motel. And its a dated hotel no upgrades at all not even a microwave or fridge the only upgrade was the cookies that they are offering. This hotel should change its name to Broken Tree by Hilton! read more

The seafood buffet is amazing! My family and I came from 2 hours away to eat there and it was definitely worth the trip. The young lady who served us (Morgan) was absolutely the best! She was on top of our every need, very friendly, and even went out of her way to help get the baby entertained so we could eat. You should employ more people like this amazing young woman. On a whim we went to the all you can eat seafood buffet at the doubletree. Really well presented. Food was excellent. Waiter , Matt was attentive and personable. Chris handed out the crab legs and if you were under 5 you got extra legs just because you are cute and have to work harder to get the plate up high enough for him to see you the old timers gently motioned where to get plates. Honestly , I have been to so many buffets and the choices took president over quality, this was not the case. Go, enjoy. .. ask for Matt section- he is going into nursing and could use the tips! read more

I've always been pleased with my stays at Doubletree Hotels, and the Augusta location was no exception. Clean, modern rooms, friendly staff, and of course, a warm cookie at check-in. Not that Augusta is particularly large, but this hotel is centrally located, so it's not a long drive to anywhere you need to be. The bar here is fantastic -- I probably spent as much time there as I did my room! The bartender mixed a great martini, and I'm guessing it's one of the few places you can get a drink late on an Sunday night (hey, it's the South). It was a little pricey; a double Knob Creek set me back almost $20, but darn was it good. The breakfast buffet was above average, with a nice assortment of items. The servers didn't charge us the full price since we were just having some toast and fruit, which really sweet of them. This is definitely going to be my first choice of hotels if I ever have to go to Augusta again. read more

I as usual requested a digital key if available. Upon arrival I went and checked the room out. Upon walking in both lights in the ceiling were flickering. I also noticed no bottled water in the room as other hiltons do for there honor members who request a digital key. I went downstairs to advise of the light issue as well as was able to get one bottle of water but they were out of cookies. There were also no luggage carts available so I had to carry things to my room. After getting settled in, the television in the bedroom wouldn't work so maintenance again had to come. He advised it just needed to be reset. After he left I went to use the bathroom, when I went to lift the lid, I all of sudden felt pain and saw blood on my finger. When I got the lid up I noticed that one of the grips were broke and very sharp edged thus causing me to cut my finger. I just shook my head and said its one night don't say anything else. As I left to go out I asked about the cookie. They had some available but it had walnuts in it. My question is why, why hand out cookies with nuts when that is a common allergy? As a firefighter we teach prevention here it's like let's give out cookies which could kill someone. Yes it says on package there are nuts but really who reads a package? Usually it's a chocolate chip cookie. I again just shook my head. When my wife and I came back we decided to use the hot tub. Upon entry there were about 7-9 teenagers roughly 11-13 in age using it. I questioned why the rules weren't being enforced since it clearly says 14 or older but the front desk agent I don't think understood what I was saying. The jacuzzi tub in the bedroom was subpar, the jets aren't strong at all. The bed in our room was horrible! When there are two people in it you roll into the middle. In the middle of the night the air quit working not sure why. It was like pick your poison put it at 61 and freeze or put it at 65 and sweat. The hot tub Sunday morning the water was below the jets and had to be refilled. Maintenance had no clue why it had no water! The hotel is very worn and is in need of a major renovation. For this being a doubletree hotel and the standards Hilton has I'd say this hotel is far below these standards. There staff also seems reactive to everything rather then being proactive on things! I can't say you get what you pay for here but considering the price you pay you definitely don't get what you'd expect from what is suppose to be a top tier Hilton hotel! read more

Overall this is a nicely adorned hotel but there were enough little things wrong that it doesn't seem worth the price. It certainly isn't up to the standards of other Doubletree hotels. Complaints: the wireless internet service was down during most of our visit (the problem was merely a modem which took them more 24 hours to replace); they have no pay-per-view movie service (strange for an upscale chain); some of the fixtures are is poor shape; our TV itself had poor picture quality. Don't get me wrong. It's not a bad place to stay but compared to other comparable hotels in the same price range it is lacking. read more

I accidently left my phone charging on the floor in the corner of the room. My daughter & I went downstairs to eat lunch at the hotel restaurant and had left our bags at the front desk since we were checking out. I received a key from the front desk to go back upstairs to get my phone and housekeeping was already in there...and my phone & charger was gone. To shorten this long story, after calling the police, missing our flight, I didn't get my phone back but it was obviously stolen because the thief had turned it off. So if you stay there lock your valuables and don't forget them because you won't get it back and the General Mang will only tell you he is sorry. read more

I stayed this location a couple weeks ago. This was a huge disappointment!!! I shied away from staying here because they had shown being under renovation. The only renovation saw done was a painted sidewalk. The room that I was given had a horrible smell to it. Hilton need to take a hard look at this location is see if this worthy of having the Doubletree name. read more

Every Sunday after church for three years I would come to this restaurant to eat dinner with my family! We enjoyed it just that much. I moved to another city and haven't been here in over a year. This restaurant has gone down to less than a one star in my opinion! I understand the previous cook isn't there anymore and maybe that is why the food wasn't its best. The fried chicken was almost black and you can tell it wasn't fresh at all. The manager was told by another client the chicken was to dark but he dismissed her and said there is nothing wrong with my chicken. As if it is his restaurant! NOT the best way to handle that! I went here for the Friday night all you can eat crabs dinner and it was fantastic!!! I mostly ate the crabs but I tried several desserts and the cold bar food and everything was above my expectations! I am fairly picky and I was blown away! Just stayed at this hotel for one night. I booked the hotel before checking the reviews, but I saw most of the more recent reviews were positive, so I decided to stick with my reservation rather than cancel. That was a mistake. Some compliments and neutral observations. 1. The lobby is nice and looks like it's been updated within the past decade. 2. Staff is very polite and friendly. 3. Room was clean and had all of the basic amenities. 4. The bed itself was very comfortable, and the pillows were thin but comfortable enough. 5. My room on the the 1st floor wasn't completely silent, but it definitely wasn't loud either, and I had no trouble falling asleep. Based on that list, I would have given the hotel an overall grade of 3.5 stars, except there were two negatives to my stay, one minor, and one severe enough to drop my rating to 2 stars I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned that the rooms were dark, and while I'm normally not someone who cares much about aesthetics, it's worth noting that the decor looked very 1980's. Everything in the room aside from the HDTV easily could have been at least 25 years old. Also, a small section of the carpeting near the closet was inexplicably torn to shreds, as if someone began cutting it up before giving up after a minute. More importantly, I have to say that customer service at this location is the worst I've ever experienced at a Double Tree hotel. There are two components to customer service - friendliness and competence. Everybody I interacted with at this hotel is friendly, but competence is in short supply. Some examples: 1. I ordered breakfast for morning room service delivery between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. (the earliest they offer) because I had to leave for a job interview at 7 a.m. The food did not arrive until 6:40 a.m. The woman who delivered the food was very polite and apologetic, so I decided to let it slide and gave her a decent tip. 2. In addition to being delivered late, the breakfast was missing the hot chocolate that I had ordered, and I did not have time to call and ask for room service to deliver it since I had to leave for the job interview less than 15 minutes after my food was delivered. I was annoyed, but I had bigger things on my mind, so again, I quickly ate my reduced breakfast and was going to let this mistake slide. 3. The job interview was scheduled to be done at 4:30 p.m., and the hotel shuttle was scheduled to pick up not only me but also 4 other job applicants at 4:45 p.m. at a nearby medical center. The pickup location was only a 15 minute drive away from the hotel. At 4:50 p.m., the shuttle had not arrived, so we called the hotel front desk and were told that the shuttle was running late but would pick us up in 20 minutes. At 5:15 p.m., the shuttle had not arrived, so we called the hotel front desk and were told the shuttle had broken down, but they were using a backup shuttle that would pick us up in 20 minutes. At 5:35 p.m., we were still waiting, so we called and were told that the backup shuttle had encountered traffic but was around 15 minutes away. At 5:50 p.m., we called again and were told that the shuttle driver couldn't be reached, but he should be nearby so we shouldn't call a taxi. At 6:15 p.m., the shuttle still hadn't arrived, so we called a cab anyway, and the hotel agreed to pay for the cab after we arrived at the hotel. We were never given an explanation as to what happened to the "backup" shuttle that never arrived to pick us up. Suffice to say that the front desk clearly had lied multiple times to us when they gave us firm estimates on when the shuttle would be arriving. For whatever reason, the hotel never managed to get a shuttle to attempt to pick us up yet refused to openly admit their failure. The hotel eventually paying for the cab that we called (**against their recommendation**) after an hour and a half delay doesn't make up for the repeated customer service failures we experienced in a 1 night stay. Summary: Friendly staff, comfortable if unspectacular room, overpriced overall, and terrible customer service. I would only recommend staying here for short trips and if you're sure you won't need to ask for much from the staff other than the delivery of clean towels. read more

My husband and I went there for the Seafood buffet tonight to try it out! We were definitely not impressed! Besides being way overpriced...the food was not good at all! The clam chowder was burnt and disgusting...told the staff about it and they still left it up there. The fried shrimp tasted like the kind you buy in the frozen food section and heat in a microwave. The crayfish tasted like death warmed over and the crab legs tasted like they just sat in water (no flavor)! Some of the peel n eat shrimp were mushy and flavorless! Overall the rooms are okay. Awesome fitness center. Indoor and outdoor pool are nice also. Time in their pamphlet was incorrect about continental breakfast which was dissapointing but not as dissapointing as when we found out there was no continental breakfast only a paid breakfast. Also the window in our room opened to a hallway and the bathrooms in a standard king room very small. Our original room had a issue where water was leaking from the air conditioning unit in the ceiling completely soaking the carpet. We were moved from a room with a king bed to a queen. This irratated me because the rates for a double queen were less then the one I paid for. The front desk clerks were snobby and rude with every encounter. They even forgot to put in the work ticket for the leaking ceiling.. we had to call again. Overall this was one of the worst experiences I've encountered while traveling. When the fitness center is the best part I think some changes need to be made. read more

Where do I begin. When we arrived we were greeted by a cookie and from there it all went downhill . It was the turning point of our very brief stay at double tree. We booked the governmental suite, so you would think with that name you would be getting your money's worth. Instead, what we were greeted with was dusty furniture, a carpet that not had been thoroughly vacuumed, red stained carpets and bath tub (possibly wine); a dirty bathroom, and dirty sheets with crumbs. My husband informed the front desk that the room was infact not ready for us and we would like "housekeeping" to come and clean the room and provide us with new sheets and towels, as these did not look clean and had crumbs. Also there was no hot water whatsoever, and no warning of such from front desk when we arrived. In hindsight I should have just left then but since we booked for a church function and others were staying I tried to make the best of it. 5 hrs later still no one has even attempted to bring us anything. No towels, sheets not a darn thing. I go to a local shop (earth fare which is great -sorry for the digression) and get food and some cleaning supplies. I mean if we are going to attempt to stick it out then I myself would not be bathing in a dirty shower and I needed to bathe after my long flight and drive from atl airport. I come back still nothing...my 2 yr old is sleepy and here's the kicker, I pull out the sofa bed that I am to put her to sleep in which there are crumbs that seemed to be there for quite some time, and I see nothing other than a bed bug. That s right folks bed bugs. I immediately went downstairs spoke with manager where he offered to put us in a different hotel. While the male manager(supervisor?) was nice and cooperative and willing to help us, I later find out the female manager who never even spoke with me has reported to her guests (fellow church members- unknowingly that they ofcourse would tell me): that there were no bed bugs in my room and I was lying. At this point I don't care because I am already out of the hotel. And have booked elsewhere. I however find out the next morning abt 6 -10 different families check out: 2 separate reports of bed bugs in suites where they were brought to the manager for evidence, mildew and mold, old underwear in one room, and various other UNSPEAKABLE things. (So Clearly i was "lying" ) While my family was fortunate to book through expedia and get our refund immediately those who realized their issues later than I, did not. Some left with the burden of having to pay a separate bill for another hotel, while others could not afford the added expense. A worthy establishment would have issued a refund, or at very least take ACCOUNTABILITY -once realizing their were significant problems being reported, offer their guests to arrange at sister hotels or such (no money lost), and not treat their patrons so callously. But clearly when you read the other reviews there is nothing new under the sun, and they very well know that these problems are present and are simply robbing people blind, with no conscious! If you want to take a chance on unnecessary stress, heartache, financial burden, and possible health risk from this hazardous hotel then go right ahead and book here. If you are wise read the reviews of a hotel before hand and do not book simply because others are booking there. I will never make such a mistake again! This review will be going on every review list I can find, as it most certaintly was not worth staying there - But if I can save a person from experiencing what I and others went through Then I'm paying it forward. read more
