They have a really good selection. Room was super comfy once I got the AC to shut off. Apparently, I slept straight through a wild thunderstorm that blew through in the middle of the night. I never heard a thing. Next morning, I rose like a rooster freshly restored and ready to take on the world . Don't sleep on TRU by Hilton. Give them a try.

There's the main house (which I honestly don't know if there are guest rooms in the main house, but I would think so) and then there are additional rooms around the back. I stayed in one of the rooms out back. The room was on the ground floor and was spacious and beautifully appointed in period appropriate furnishings. The bathroom was also spacious and and a big and deep jetted tub, which was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The inn is conveniently located to eateries etc. For my solo traveling girlies: + I don't believe the Inn is staffed all night. I was checking in around 5:30pm and the Innkeeper texted me to let me know they had a meeting and wouldn't be there upon arrival. They sent me instructions for how to do a self-check in and gain access to my room. My car was the only car in the parking lot all night. I didn't see anyone else--I believe I was the only one at the inn that night. + My room was accessed from the outside (ie: my room didn't lead to a hallway--it lead to the outdoors). And, there were two doors to access the room (both leading outside). They both did have deadbolts and one had a door chain at the top, +Parking is on site, well lit, and close to entrances +The inn appears to be in a nice area of town I don't know that I'd stay here solo again but would 100% stay with my partner.

High ceilings, Rooms are like a very nice guest room in a good friend's or family's home. Very cozy, nice size room, easy access to main floor rooms from the parking lot. There is a set of stairs (no elevator) to the 2nd floor. Nice courtyard off main floor rooms to sit and relax. Bathrooms have soft, black makeup remover washcloth for us women and makeup remover towelettes plus all needed shower amenities. TV and lights turned on, water bottles included. Just like coming home, much nicer than a hotel. John and Mary are great hosts and very accomodating to our schedule. One of the BEST parts is the awesome included breakfast, made to order eggs, sausage, etc. fresh various bread types, fresh fruits, all set in their main hotel formal dining room with china plates and silverware. Don't worry dress is casual in this room :) The price is AWESOME for all that is included. You cannot beat it. Easy access to expressways. Could not ask for more. We will definately return when we head back down south toward the beach area. We stayed at Lookaway Inn coming and going from our trip to Hilton Head. A nice halfway point for us to relax. The reservation process was very easy, and we had no issues communicating with the owner all through our visit. This houseboat was an older vessel, that was restored and could easily be enough space for 4 adults. On our visit we just had 2 adults, so the full size bed was more than comfortable. They also have two two size bunkbeds that could be used for kids or other adults. This houseboat was very, very cozy and comfortable. It had direct TV and all the other options (microwave, refrigerator, stove, everything a normal hotel would have. Our hostess was very friendly and added special amenities to ensure we had a great experience. Lots to do in walking distance, make sure you go downtown for some great restaurants.

We called back in February to confirm reservations again, only to learn that "the manager had canceled our reservations 3 days" later without any outreach or communication because "they felt like they didn't charge us enough". We would have flown from California to Augusta and had no room. They still had available rooms but would not honor the reservation rate that we booked. Very unethical and dishonest. We spoke with Michelle and she basically said either pay the new sky high rates or stay somewhere else. She confirmed that other people's reservations were also canceled and they will probably show up and need to pay much more (if they even have any more rooms remaining by then). So much for southern hospitality.

She called out through the door that she was in the shower and could not open it. Despite this, the employee--James--continued to bang on the door and demanded that she open it to identify herself and provide her ID. This made no sense, as he already knew who she was and had just checked her in moments earlier. He persisted multiple times, insisting she open the door. This behavior terrified my wife. She felt unsafe, vulnerable, and unsure of what to do, especially as a woman alone in the room. I was on the phone with her during the incident and heard everything unfold in real time. Because of how unsafe she felt, my wife made the decision to leave the hotel and check out immediately. No guest--especially a woman staying alone--should ever be made to feel frightened or pressured like this by hotel staff. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will be contacting corporate to report this incident. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and no one should ever be made to feel this way while staying at a hotel.
