The Crowne Plaza Salt+Marrow Parlor Bar Is, for all intense…read moreand purposes, the lobby bar. I have to tell you, it's a beautiful bar. What you need to understand is the bartenders are amazing, very attentive, quick and you will love your cocktails!!! My bartender was Brittany and she makes amazing drinks, she's quick witted, funny and very professional! Quanta, Lindsey, and Adrian all kept the customers happy and coming back for more!!! If you're ever in the North Augusta area, especially for a Green-jackets game stop by the Crowne Plaza and see Brittany and her co-workers and you will not be disappointed, but if you are charge it to room 546...feel sorry for those people! My wife was staying at this hotel alone, and shortly after checking in, she had a very frightening…read moreexperience that caused her to feel completely unsafe. The same employee who checked her in and personally handed her the room key later went to her room and began banging aggressively on the door. At the time, my wife was in the shower. She called out through the door that she was in the shower and could not open it. Despite this, the employee--James--continued to bang on the door and demanded that she open it to identify herself and provide her ID. This made no sense, as he already knew who she was and had just checked her in moments earlier. He persisted multiple times, insisting she open the door. This behavior terrified my wife. She felt unsafe, vulnerable, and unsure of what to do, especially as a woman alone in the room. I was on the phone with her during the incident and heard everything unfold in real time. Because of how unsafe she felt, my wife made the decision to leave the hotel and check out immediately. No guest--especially a woman staying alone--should ever be made to feel frightened or pressured like this by hotel staff. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will be contacting corporate to report this incident. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and no one should ever be made to feel this way while staying at a hotel.

It's very clean with spacious rooms and the strong shower water makes me like it more. Microwave & refrigerator in rooms. They have a gym with free weights and a nice size indoor pool. Conference rooms if needed, computer room and great Wi-Fi connection.. This a great place for a weekend get away for two or a week long family stay. The price - even on a weekend makes this even more inviting. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but pretty much there is a restaurant of your liking within 10 miles of this location. Many places within 5 miles that you can enjoy. Whether your taste is fast food or sit down enjoyment. There is always the voice of having food delivered. I'll be staying here when in the area for sure.

The room was clean, no smell, or issues during my stay. Fairly quiet despite being near a major road. No issues with neighbors or other guests. Like most hotels, this location also had a small gym and their equipment is pretty modern, especially their treadmills. If you're a diamond elite member, there are designated parking spots available on the side outside to use. Among the top hotels in the area, I highly recommend this holiday inn express.

What a gem! This place is beautiful. My wife booked it and I had no idea what to expect. We pulled…read moreup to the address on my GPS and I said there is no way this is where we are staying. I thought it was a museum, which it kind of is. Our room was on the ground floor behind the main mansion. We arrived in the evening so they left us information on how to get into our room. The room was big and stunning. I loved the wood floors and everything inside the room. Everything was spotless. The beds were two queens and they were very comfortable. In the morning we went to the mansion for breakfast. The hosts were extremely friendly and made us feel at home while they cooked us some fresh eggs. The price was very reasonable and this was way better than staying at a hotel, it just was way more relaxing. I highly recommend the Lookaway Inn!

Recently stayed at the Lookaway Inn during a brief, two night stay in Augusta…read more The Inn itself is historical and beautiful. There's the main house (which I honestly don't know if there are guest rooms in the main house, but I would think so) and then there are additional rooms around the back. I stayed in one of the rooms out back. The room was on the ground floor and was spacious and beautifully appointed in period appropriate furnishings. The bathroom was also spacious and and a big and deep jetted tub, which was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The inn is conveniently located to eateries etc. For my solo traveling girlies: + I don't believe the Inn is staffed all night. I was checking in around 5:30pm and the Innkeeper texted me to let me know they had a meeting and wouldn't be there upon arrival. They sent me instructions for how to do a self-check in and gain access to my room. My car was the only car in the parking lot all night. I didn't see anyone else--I believe I was the only one at the inn that night. + My room was accessed from the outside (ie: my room didn't lead to a hallway--it lead to the outdoors). And, there were two doors to access the room (both leading outside). They both did have deadbolts and one had a door chain at the top, +Parking is on site, well lit, and close to entrances +The inn appears to be in a nice area of town I don't know that I'd stay here solo again but would 100% stay with my partner.
