It's exactly what you'd want from a business stay. But if I'm being honest, the thing that truly elevated this experience from a good stay to a great one was Anita. Her guest service is in a league of its own. From the moment I interacted with her, it was clear she genuinely cares about the people she's serving -- not in a scripted, going-through-the-motions kind of way, but in a way that feels warm, attentive, and completely authentic. She anticipated needs, made me feel genuinely welcomed, and brought a level of hospitality that you just don't come across every day. In the business travel world, hotels can start to blur together -- but staff like Anita are the reason you remember a place and choose to come back. Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending a meeting at the Residence Inn. The meeting space was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. Additionally, our group was able to partake in their daily breakfast buffet. This was the highlight of my morning! The buffet features a wide range of options. Beware! Don't stay at the Residence Inn Augusta!!! Our room was flea infested. management's and Bonvoy's response to our ordeal further proved hotel management nor Bonvoy cared about our safety or loyalty. After a trip to urgent care and a report to the environmental agency we learned they had put the room back in rotation immediately after a pet was in the room. They neglected to take appropriate steps to insure the room was clean and safe. They failed in their legal "...responsibility to protect guests from foreseeable risks, including injuries and criminal acts..." demonstrating a continued pattern of placing guests at risks. Management's and Bonvoy's response to our ordeal further proved hotel management and Bonvoy have little concern for customer safety or loyalty. Don't trust them. We had a lovely stay and everything was clean and comfortable. For a quick roadtrip stop it was perfect.

We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott - Augusta last weekend. While we were dismayed to see the weekend rate double (see photo), we selected this hotel due to the wonderful experience that we had 5 years ago. We were in town for a family reunion and chose a 2-bedroom suite because I was traveling with four adults and a child. The 2-bedroom suite includes one king bed, one queen bed and one queen sleeper sofa bed. I called a few nights before to ask questions around amenities and post-Covid-19 updates and spoke with Anita. She was very helpful via phone and suggested a 1st floor room for our convenience. I informed her of our plan to cook nachos and use the room for leisure for our family trip. We arrived on Friday night around 9 PM (due to living 2+ hours away and leaving from work). Sara checked us in and was nice and helpful. She provided us keys for room 122. I unload our items and spend an hour cooking nachos. We eat dinner, play uno and begin to prep for homemade margaritas. My mother-in-law brought her own blender from home and goes to pull out the sofa bed for my son. There's a sign on the sofa bed that reads, "DO NOT USE SOFABED THANK YOU MGT." I immediately call the front desk and inform Sara. It was around 10:30 PM at this time and she lets us know that she can assign us another room but it will take a few minutes. At this time, I ask if it would be possible to have a separate room for my MOL for the night, since they were not sold out and it would be more convenient for us than moving everything to another suite, especially after cooking. Sara advises that she cannot do this. Ten minutes later, I come out to show her a photo of the sign and Sara lets me know that Ebony is about to be there (her shift was ending) and she would brief her on the situation. She also provided me with the card for the manager, Tristian, but said that he would not be in until Monday. I return to122 and my mother-in-law comes out with me to the lobby because it shouldn't take 30 minutes to reprogram a key for a new room. At this point, it is 11 PM, Ebony is in place and provides us two options to review. Room 108 (accessible room) and 222. Room 108 is clean, but did not have a tub on the side of the room that we were using. This is not ideal for travel with a child. We went to 222 and it appeared clean, had less chairs, and was warm. We decided to start moving our items there and as I am heading down to return the other keys to Ebony, my mother-in-law texts a photo of a water bug near the living room's sofa bed. Needless to say, we refused to remain in that room. Ebony was extremely apologetic and programmed a key to 228. That room had broken light fixtures and missing kitchen utensils. At this point it is after midnight & my family is tired and aggravated. I request to stay in our original room, 122 and ask that my mother-in-law have room 108 until the next morning. Ebony agreed, so we moved the items from 222 back to 122 & 108. The next morning, the front desk called our room before 9 AM. We were asleep. I ended up speaking to Anita after eating breakfast downstairs. The breakfast was pretty good. I liked the biscuits and appreciated the Quaker oatmeal, Greek yogurt and bottled juice. Mrs. Karen was very friendly and kept everything stocked up. Anita received a brief of what happened from Ebony, but I had to provide full context. I advised that we would like to be compensated for the inconvenience. She worked with Eddie (maintenance) to determine the best two-bedroom suite and advised that a manager would be there in the morning regarding compensation. Eddie apologized and advised that he would inspect our new room. Anita programmed a key for room 322. I explained that we would need more time to move our items again. The 108 key was deactivated, so I had to request it to get my mother in law's items out the room, because she left to help with the family reunion preparation. We moved our items into 322 around noon. Unfortunately, I found a dead water bug next to the toilet in our king room suite. I call the desk immediately, and Anita sends Eddie up to address it after letting me know that we would not be able to switch rooms again. Eddie removes the dead bug and apologizes. My son and I enjoy the pool for an hour and realize that our bathtub has a draining issue. I report this issue and head to the family reunion after. They resolve the issue while we were gone & we have no additional problems. Upon checkout Sunday, Tristian offers a 20% discount on our first night. This compensation was minimal for the inconveniences. What was supposed to be a relaxing weekend, turned into a major headache. The customer service was good, but the first night should have been waived completely. I would not return to this location again. read more

Really nice place to stay- one thing we enjoyed was that the rooms had full kitchens, so you can get a full size fridge/other appliances. This makes it easy to make or bring food! The staff is very friendly, and we also enjoyed the fitness room. read more

This was the dirtiest, filthy hotel I've ever stayed in: - Blood on the bathroom wall - multiple areas of stained carpet - stained chair - broken and missing light on wall mounted light unit in bedroom - flooring in kitchen area was so dirty shoes would stick to floor - the toilet was unbelievably filthy ( see photos) - paint spots on wall And we had the pleasure of paying $235 for one night - next is a phone call to Marriott customer service and a posting on Trip Advisor read more

I was recommended by a co-worker to stay here cause of their "Happy Hour". That's about as much information as I received since she has never actually stayed but rather has only heard from experiences. I took her advice and stayed here. Marriot has a program called "MIX" here which is Monday - Wednesday between the hours of 6pm and 8pm and offers beer and wine including some finger foods for their guests, all complimentary. It's intended for the guest to mingle, etc. I skipped night 1 and came down for night 2 which as mentioned above is true. However, the mingling is more for the friends that are staying in the hotel together as everyone was in their own little "click". The beers are for grab with a selection of Shock Top, Miller Lite, Budweiser and some other domestics, unsure of the wine selection. The beers should probably be cold prior to going into the ice bucket as my three beers were pretty lukewarm, yuck. The food was not worth getting full with in my opinion but I'm sure some of you finger food folks might disagree. I skipped night 3 with the food truck since I had some delicious ice cold Yingleung in the fridge. As for the hotel. It's modern and clean. The staff is nice. Amenities also includes a gym and outdoor basketball court, that's a cool touch. There's an indoor pool along with a hot tub. An outdoor chill area that has some lounge chairs along with a fire pit, however the week I was there the fire pit was out of commission. There's also a grill out there for use if you are still a Grill Master on work travels. The suite was nice, basically home away from home. The bed was comfortable, enough. I stayed on the side so every morning I get awaken by the dump truck emptying the dumper. Right between the SprillHill Suite next door. I brought my Xbox and was connected to their free WiFi which worked great as I was able to play online and not get kicked. They do have an option for "faster" internet if you are willing to pay a cool additional $5 per day. Overall I was happy with my stay and would book again. Stay at this hotel for 10 days with my husband, 3 year old son, and a miniature schnauzer. The hotel is very nice, I really loved the breakfast buffet, the evening snacks, the pool, laundry, the gym is tiny, the basketball court was great, and the outside lounging area was awesome. The room they gave us (411) was awesome. House keeping would not service my room because they were scared of my small dog. My husband requested an upgrade and was given a handicapped room (417). The room was dirty and it just felt allover like a downgrade. The manager kept calling us to remind us that a few people kept complaining about my dog barking during the day. My husband asked what were the quiet hours and the manager did not know. We left our dog in his crate for lunch and never longer than three hours alone. We will not be staying at this hotel again. read more

We had the pleasure of staying at the Residence Inn during Masters week. It is a relatively new hotel in the Augusta area and it has been well maintained. Even the luggage carts work extremely well! The staff is incredibly cordial. We were greeted with a smile and a warm hello or have a great day/night by all staff we encountered in the hotel. I found that consistent attention to customer service to be very admirable. The room was cleaned to our needs each day. When we didn't need service, we simply hung the door sign on the knob and it was skipped that day. After each service, the room was inspected by another staff member to ensure maximum quality. The last night of our stay, we were required to switch rooms because we extended our stay by an additional night. I thought I checked every drawer to ensure nothing was left behind. As I was getting comfortable in our new room, there was a knock at the door. A staffer (Ms. Lacher) found a stack of shirts I left folded in one of the drawers. It was so considerate of her to find them and return them to me personally. Thank you so very much!! This is a great place to stay in Augusta and a great value as well. read more

I stayed here and it was not like my usual Marriott experiences. Especially for a residence inn. There was used soap and a hair in the sink when I first got to my room. There was another used soap in the shower that had not been thrown away. There was no coffee in the lobby like there normally is. I asked they told me it was in my room with the coffee pot. Not very friendly staff like we're used to either. The only one nice and helpful was the guy working there. No cookies or water either. I asked and saw the water bottles sitting there and she said they weren't for guests. Very disappointed in this location. The beds were not the usual comfortable beds either. And this location is not very old. The only good this time was the breakfast. At 9 am sharp though she closed all the doors except one while people were still inside fixing breakfast. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this location. After booking the reservation at a specified rate and confirming that rate during check-in, the hotel billed me an extra $100 at the end of the stay. Since I don't record my phone calls there wasn't much I could offer as proof. You might want to consider staying elsewhere - the customer service leaves a little to be desired. read more

Ended up having to stay due to home repairs, and because they allow pets, it was almost like staying at home. The stay greet you as you walk in and as you walk out with a smile. If you're stay is extended, expect them to really get to know you, your room, pets, and family. Monday-Wednesday they have different complimentary snacks/meals with beer and wine from 6-8. The continental breakfast is literally the same everyday except Thursdays, that's when they switch out one of the sausages (there's 3 normally provided) for bacon. Other than that, there's oatmeal, egg whites, eggs, cereals, various breads, and waffles. When it comes to cleaning the rooms, your sheets are changed every 3 days (as told to me by housekeeping) unless you specifically request a change that day. There's a "4 legged guest" door hanger, if you want your room cleaned you do not put that on your door (odd, I know...but again as told to me by housekeeping) they will not enter if that's on the door, but take it off and when they knock, either cage your pets or take them out for a walk. The kitchenette is fully stocked with settings for 4, a stove with oven, microwave, full size refrigerator, pots, pans, paper towels, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, and dishwasher. The bathrooms have bar soap, Neutrogena makeup remover wipes, shampoo, and conditioner. A lovely hot tub and warm indoor pool area, basketball court, beautiful lobby with fireplace, an outdoor firepit and a gas grill, exercise room, and laundry (I saw 2.00 on the dryer didn't check the washer), as well as 2 pet poop corners on both sides of the hotel (complete with doggy poop bags). read more

Shame on this Residence Inn. Most hotel chains are waiving pet and cancellation fees for evacuees of hurricane Florence. This hotel is charging $150 pet fee despite the Marriott Platinum Reservation line quoting me $75 when I made the reservation. According to USA Today most major hotel chains are waiving their fees entirely. So sad Tristan who is the hotel manager and per corporate is solely responsible for this decision, does not have more compassion during this catastrophic event read more

As a Lifetime Platinum Member, the service to resolve an issue was awful. The room was obviously smoked in and the excuse from management was that we had a corner room and came in through the vents (actually laughing as I type this--but it's true). Oh...btw, we were on the 4th floor. The strongest smell of smoke in the room came from the bathroom. So the hotel choose to downgrade me to another room when I brought it too their attention. I haven't stayed at this hotel or another Marriott property since corporate didn't step up. This is a management and service failure. read more

First let me say that this is one of the cleanest hotels, looks and acts new. Bad: First my group made reservations a week prior to the visit and the hotel had overbooked. One of our 3 had to stay at a Hampton Inn over 5 miles away. When he asked directions or address, the staff just looked at each other. We were able to look it up and call to confirm before they could (there are 3 in that area). At 9 p.m. the staff started spraying the floor with cleaner without any "wet floor" warning and when we mentioned this, they looked at us like we stole their candy. Do not ask the staff for any food recommendations. They (4 including manager) seemed to not know the area. The hotel staff here will steal your money and lie about it. I stayed at this hotel, in room 309 from August 5 - 6. I booked the hotel through my travel agency and verified my reservation as I was driving to Augusta from Maryland. I checked in at 11:30pm and checked out at 12:40pm the following day. Apparently, when I checked in I was charged $120.00 for a entirely new reservation. When I checked out I was charged a bogus $250.00 smoking fee. $370.00 was stolen off of my credit card with no intentions of returning my money to me. Someone from the hotel cleaning staff accused me of smoking marijuana in my room, stating that they found burnt marijuana cigarettes, papers and residue. This is a bold-faced lie and an attempted defamation of my character. I am a military service member with a Top-Secret security clearance. I wouldn't dare jeopardize my career by being so careless and foolhardy. Prior to check out, at 12:35pm there was a knock at my door by one of the hotel's cleaning staff members. I left the room at 12:40pm and there was a congregation of hotel staff cleaning members standing in the hallway waiting for me to vacate the room so they could go in and do their job. One of those women who were on the third floor near room 309 at around 12:40pm lied to the hotel front desk and said they found evidence of drug use in my room. Where that evidence is, I do not know! The hotel relied solely on the word of mouth statement made by a member(s) of the cleaning staff and determined their claim to be true. Although drugs were claimed to be found in the room there were no police involved in this incident nor was I contacted and notified of this discovery. I only found out when I looked at my credit card statement and called the hotel to find out what was going on. The hotel staff, finance department, manager and corporate office have all been contacted regarding this matter. The finance department never returned my call on Wednesday afternoon as I was promised, and the manager Philip Elton was very rude and uncooperative in listening to this concern. I even had my travel agency contact him and they stated how rude and angry he was over the phone and refused to discuss anything with them. This matter now sits with the District Office and we will see how that turns out. I fully intend to forward this written statement to legal council to see about filing a defamation lawsuit against either this local hotel or their parent company, Marriott International. To drive over 1,000 miles to Augusta and back only to discover such an outlandish criminal claim made by someone on the hotel cleaning staff is extremely sad and disappointing. Not only has my money been taken from me but my name and image has potentially been tarnished. That I cannot stand for. read more

Absolutely horrible. Could not check in until 3:30 -- room smelled of fried chicken - 2 hours later no improvement. Went to get deodorizer - still putrid. Went under the sink to find a live cockroach. If that wasn't enough we had a person above us w 4 kids playing gymnastics. We called the office several times. We finally had to move rooms. Not only have I been traumatized by my brothers funeral - I had to be traumatized by the hotel as well. We have had it!!!! I called to speak to a manager - apparently they gave no manager on duty. I checked in on January 26th, with the impression that my 8 yr old sleep over would be a SUCCESS! Night shift clerk Hannah comes to the room at 11:30 pm she states this is our 3rd violation in regards to loud noise and is trying to kick myself out with six 8yr olds in Augusta Ga temperature currently 34 degrees, with a 5 passenger vehicle and two adults! Hannah threatenes to call Richmond county police on me because I asked to see the contract (I never signed) which is supposed to detail one noise violation results in departure. When I get to the front desk I'm told that she is unable to locate the document. But I still need to leave. My issue with this is we only had one phone call to the room by day shift at 10:30 and was told if we have another complaint we would be asked to leave. The children were lying dying getting ready for bed when Hannah decided to try and kick us out of the establishment! As I am explains to Hammah that the children were not making noise she begins to get angry and yell! There was a Caucasian guest that was trying to assist me with how ridiculous the request was at 12:00 and to allow us to continue our stay! Hannah says this has nothing to do with you (Guest)it's about those people and points at me. As i ask Hannah what does that mean calmly she begins to yell and state GET THE HELL OUT OF THE HOTEL!!!!! I asked for corporates number her name and I am currently waiting for Richmond county police!!!! That Hannah has called on me! (which I did not oblige) Please review tapes and as well as check with other guest I did not yell, scream, or curse at your clerk! I have six 8yr olds currently upstairs crying their eyes out because of an individual you have representing your company! I contacted the General Manager of this establishment Tristan, he was very rude, his concern is the hotel is not a party establish, insisted we were making noise, sees nothing wrong with how his employee handle the situation. Please check your charges before you leave this hotel. Where do I start: my husband, myself and our infant daughter are evacuating from Florida for the hurricane on our way to Georgia I booked one night through hotels.com when I arrived at the hotel I extended with the front desk for 3 additional nights after the second night they tell me the reservation was not in the system and the rate had increased if we didn't want pay more we had to leave. The manger is simply the rudest most unprofessional person I ever met. We decided to leave and not to pay the increased rate and before we left I checked my credit card to make sure they only charged for one night because remember supposedly the reservation didn't go through. No, they had 675 worth of holds on my card. They froze my money so I couldn't use my card and this is when I am leaving from a hurricane. Please please please check your credit card especially if you stayed during hurricane . I plan on taking steps to get to the bottom of what and why they did this my family. read more
