I passed through this hotel after a cross-country trip trying to make it to Hilton Head. I was getting tired and sore so I pulled over a few hours out from the hotel, pulled up my Marriott Bonvoy App (I'm platinum) and found them online. I actually called the front desk to advise them that I was making a late reservation but was fully intending to come. At NO time did she indicate they were under construction. I arrived at about 0200 and found that the entire lobby was a construction zone. Significantly, I am handicap. They were in the middle of renovating and it was litterally treacherous. I spoke to the front desk clerk (really the night auditor) and she offered to cancel my reservation so I could go elsewhere but I was a ZOMBIE and she assured me the floor in which she was assigning me (3rd floor) was newly renovated. I took the room. The floor/room was fine. The air quality and rest of the hotel was a construction nightmare. Dust, dangerous walking paths and by the time I woke up, I was having a hard time breathing and need to use my inhaler for the first time in almost 1 year. I am NOT a Karen. I used Marriott Bonvoy points (19k if I recall correctly) and was very disappointed with my stay. I wrote in to ask for a replenishment of my points at Bonvoy Customer Service and fully expected to be replenished. Shockingly, the hotel's response was that I was advised of the construction and basically flipped me the bird with a Caveat Emptor and refused to return my points. Suffice to say, I was pissed. I escalated the issue with Marriott Bonvoy and as one would expect from an awards program like Marriott, they immediately replenished my points. In the meantime, beware of this property. It is a franchise location and the owners seemingly lack the commitment to excellence and top customer service one usually associates with Marriott properties. Everyone I encountered while I was on property was kind, professional and highly apologetic. They had apparently been forced to master that behavior. Now that construction is done, I wanted to share this story and make sure that my Bonvoy colleagues realize that leopards never change there spots and that, if requiring accomodations in the Augusta airport area, give careful consideration about choosing another Marriott property. read more

Overall somewhat underwhelming and dated. Rooms are clean, but but barely 3.5-4 star hotel material. Staff was eager to remove towels during daily service but neglected to replace them. Luckily, the front desk was eager to help after hours, and in general was the highlight of my stay here with their friendly demeanor and "can do" attitude. Common areas appear somewhat drab and spartan. read more

Front desk worker did not compensate for the inconvenience in any way... Whole experience was very disappointing from a Sheraton. Looked like boogers in the sheet? Maybe eggs? Wonderful stay! The staff was amazing! So friendly and welcoming! The rooms so clean and comfortable! The have a washer and dryer their guests can use, unfortunately it wasn't working. But they more than made up for that! Even at 11pm they took our load of laundry and washed and dried it for! We didn't even have to ask them to do that. They were so sweet to offer to do it for us! while the hotel is under renovation the service is superb, Jean the front desk manager went out of his way to help us since they don't have a business center. he needs a promotion as he represents Sheraton will skill and aplomb. They have water bottles included-which is a plus because I hate feeling dehydrated/having limited access to free water while staying in a hotel. It definitely needs an upgrade though. The carpets don't match and are old. The bathroom is outdated and they had limited double beds available...the spa/jacuzzi isn't working-not sure how long it's been out but was looking forward to the heat on my back. read more

Well what a difference a year makes. I've been staying here pretty regularly on business over the past 2/3 years and always found this a solid hotel. Clean, friendly, helpful. This is my first trip back since the pandemic... and wow :-( I understand things have been tough for the hospitality business, but you are not going to win people back with terrible service, poorly maintained and dirty rooms, and rude, unhelpful staff. In a nutshell: - The furniture in my room was dirty and soiled - not very encouraging when sanitization should be a priority. - Broken air conditioning unit in my room. I reported it, but nobody ever came. -For the two nights I was there, my room was not serviced. - They no longer serve breakfast - I was told because of Covid yet the restaurant is open in the evenings - maybe its really an excuse to cut costs? - The offer no alternatives to their guests - you can't even get a bottle of water anywhere. The soda vending machines on each floor are virtually empty with maybe one or two options. the only thing within 5 mins walk is a starbucks. Worst of all is the customer service at the front desk or guest services. The employees are rude, sullen and miserable. (It always makes you feel valued good when someone gives you one word answers and can't even be bothered to look up from their computers when you are taking to them) - I was extra polite, and tried to be sunny and cheerful, never rude back. I was made to feel like nobody cared and I was just a nuisance to them. The only saving grace was the lady who worked in the restaurant / bar (seemingly single handed) who was lovely and attentive and helpful. But - oh dear, you'd think after three years of coming to this hotel, you'd be treated better than this. You need to sort your hotel out - or you wont be getting many customers back. I'll certainly be trying some of the other options next time. read more

This place is impeccable. It is very neat and clean. While I was in the lobby, a person came by to spray surfaces to keep everything disinfected. They have liquid disinfectant for the card drop also. Masks are required and they work quickly to get you checked in and to your room soo you don't have to wait around in the lobby if you don't want to. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The employees were all wearing masks. read more

Let me start off by saying I love Marriottt and I have always loved Sheraton. This stay was a little different this one wasn't our typical vacation stay this was a trip for my daughter's grandmother, whose funeral was on Saturday. After the memorial service I promised my Neice she could go swimming with us. However she is wheelchair bound, we noticed the pool was not wheelchair accessible. The lift was not available. We also noticed that the pool had dirt or algae, the whirlpool did not work and there was visible Black mold above the swimming pool. The pool restrooms would not close. This was Not the experience I was used to having at the Sheraton. The rooms were around $195 a night, when we asked the young African American man with dreads explained to us that the pool lift was removed. I asked what the alternative accommodation was under ADA and he couldn't come up with anything. read more

Overall I am underwhelmed. My wife and stopped by for the night on our way to Raleigh. The hotel was doing some renovations. Those improvements are very good updates. Paid the up charge for the club level and room. The evening food in the club level was average at best and had been sitting out for a while. The wine was good. The morning breakfast was ok, just a typical breakfast. The room was incredibly small, maybe 300 sq ft. The hotel help was very courteous and helpful. As I said, overall underwhelming. read more

I've been completely put off of the Marriott chains here in Augusta. I've stayed at several Marriott properties here in just the last month or so as I've had a terminally ill grandparent who I've been visiting... I'm here this time because they passed. MARRIOTT YOU NEED TO VISIT YOUR AUGUSTA GA PROPERTIES!!! They do not do the brand justice. Our family is Platinum Elite (livery short from Titanium) and we've been all over the world staying in Marriott properties. I'm laying in a king bed that obviously has queen sheets. My husband went to complain and they gave him a new set of QUEEN. Sheets and we made our bed with the flat sheet of the set. Otherwise, we'd be sleeping on the actual mattress. Nasty! The bathroom had mold/mildew and the glass has not been properly cleaned on the shower doors. This is unacceptable! This is the 3rd Marriott property we've stayed in here and it's the last! The Sheraton is so very shop worn and could Use a good carpet cleaning. The walls are nasty and wallpaper needs to be replaced and paint is needed. With Covid, this should have been addressed. We will be going Hilton or Hyatt in the future for this area. MARRIOTT GET IT TOGETHER!!! read more

I was very unimpressed by this hotel. For having such a fine restaurant in the lobby the rooms were very outdated and set up very strangely. I will say that I was greeted very well at the front desk. Great reception. The breakfast room service was great and the gentleman who brought it was very nice. The beds were comfortable. The TV was old school. The bathroom set up was really strange and the files don't even shut the whole way. The toilet is in in a tiny corner. On the nightstand was only a lamp. No radio, no outlets for phone?? That made it very difficult for me with my phone. The lights were very dim and I couldn't even find the light switches for two of them. The desk lamp was either broken or no lightbulb. The AC did not work properly. I guess I was just expecting more for a place with a beautiful exterior and a nice restaurant. Won't be returning. read more

Great customer service but the Elevator is a little scary. Thanks to my status, I was able to secure a room on the 5th floor with the Concierge lounge. The room was very clean and the King Bed was HUGE. The Shower doors are a little confusing, you have to open the door were the sink is and it make is a little tight. I think they would be better off with just one door and a handle of both sides of that door. I wish they had a mouse pad on there glass top desk as my IR mouse of course didn't work due to the transparent top. Luckily I was able to get a room with a Refrigerator, my co-workers were not so lucky, they were on the second floor and have told me the rooms are not all that and that they didn't get a refrigerator. Pros: Great Staff, nice bar, nice Concierge Lounge, comfortable beds Cons: I have been told that unless you're on the 5th floor, the rooms are just mediocre. read more

We loved this hotel! It was one of the highlights during our visit to Augusta. Every single staff member we encountered was so sweet and courteous, being sure to greet us or wish us a good day whenever we passed by. We stayed on the 5th floor which includes a daily breakfast in the morning and cocktail hour in the evening. We were able try their house wine which was actually really good! I love to workout and this hotel has a well equipped, clean gym with both chilled and room temp towels, water, headphones, and a TV. The pool was under renovation so we unfortunately were unable to use this amenity. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well maintained. We opted for the "green" option, keeping our towels and declining cleaning service. This allows SPG members to redeem $5 at dining locations or 500 star points. The hotels location is close to highways and easy to access. If we are ever in Augusta again, we are definitely staying at the Sheraton! read more

First time to Augusta. Of coure my preferred hotel is Marriott. I stayed at the Sheraton. It ws recommended to ke to stay on club level. Club level has hot breakfast every morning and happy hour every evening. Hotel bar and staff were great too. I like that the hotel offered samples in the lobby of the dinner special for the nite. It was a great experience. The gym is a nice size too and the hotel was just super clean. Will definitely stay here on my visits in the future. read more

I can say his hotel was pretty good. It sits behind the Hilton Garden Inn and right next to the Holiday Inn Express off of Stevens Creek Rd (looks like an access road) when you turn off of Washington Rd. There's a bar/steakhouse on-site. This hotel does not offer free breakfast, but there are fresh fruit and cookies in the lobby. The rooms seem to have been recently updated and were reasonably comfortable. I believe there is a design flaw in the bathroom as there is no where in the showering area to set down your products. I had to keep opening up the sliding shower door to grab my soap off of the vanity. With all that being said, it's possible that I would visit this hotel again. read more

I had a terrible experience here recently - there are so many other hotels within eye sight - why would you have such terrible staff? First off the coffee machine was broken - then the toilet was stopped up - before I even used it. I called maintenance - waited 30 minutes - then called back frustrated - they sent someone. He made a grand toilet water mess in the bathroom - then left. Toilet worked. I cleaned up the floor - because - I'm hotel clean up right? Anyway - the toilet breaks AGAIN! I forgo calling until I'm ready to leave - I've had enough of watching people fix stuff in my room. I go down and tell the lady behind the counter - she could care less. No apology or anything. It's rare to have a hotel experience this bad - would've been taken care of if there was EVER a manager on staff? Where is the manager?! I asked int he morning and then when I got home in the after noon. Apparently the managers at this location work 9am to about 2pm. Ridiculous! SPG hotels - you will be avoided. read more

I have to say that I did enjoy my stay quite a bit here. I would highly recommend. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I never went through the lobby wants without them saying hello, good morning, good evening, etc. Immediately upon entering I noticed the dining area which is very classy and impressive. I didn't get a chance to eat their food but I did hear comments by other people saying it was delicious. My room was a bit small but it was definitely cozy, clean and comfortable. I did not have any type of fridge in my room so make sure that you ask for one if you need one. The bathroom was clean and nice as well. It had a nice big shower which I liked. They do have an indoor and outdoor pool they told me about but I was unfortunately unable to visit that with as busy as I was The big problem I have is that the bar is way overpriced with some drinks. They charged nine dollars for a shot and it was not expensive liquor. They need to seriously take a look at their prices. The bartender was very courteous though. I would also recommend that they see about putting mini fridges in the small rooms. Due to the price scalping in my opinion at the bar and lack of a small fridge I will only give it four stars. We are from Augusta, but went here over the weekend to have a fun, local getaway with our kids. The staff was casual, but helpful and nice. The upholstery and carpets are ready to be replaced, but the room and linens were very clean. We slept well--the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We also had so much fun at the pool, which was very warm and enjoyable. The paint on the floor kept flaking off on our feet, but it wasn't a big deal. Didn't try to gym out, but it looked nice. The fireplace was really enjoyable to sit by and the lobby was decorated for the holidays. Overall, the hotel is a little worn, but clean and we had an enjoyable stay! read more

Fine, serviceable stay but was a little disappointing in terms of being generally below most standards of Sheratons. It was plenty fine with very nice staff and amenities (including a free loofa). We enjoyed our comfortable bed, room service was very tidy and quick, and the room was easily cooled during hot May days. Overall, however, we were simply underwhelmed. The property is surrounded by multiple other hotel chains that are less expensive. The Holiday Inn was of comparable accommodations and much less expensive. The pool was dinky and outdoors, facing a dreary parking lot. The free breakfast for being a Gold/Platinum member was in an awkwardly crowed 5th floor lobby and despite the well done omelets still felt cramped. No offer of stay green/$5 beverage credit here, either. read more

We spent last night at this hotel. I seriously debated whether or not to give them 5 stars. Just a few inconveniences led me to go with 4. Our review is based on a stay in a club level room, which includes access to the club lounge and this costs more than a regular room. The Pros: Modern hotel with updated vibe. Clean bathroom with nice amenities Magnified makeup mirror in bathroom Comfortable bed Club lounge amenities included free soft drinks, evening appetizers and a really nice breakfast. Bryan, the omelet chef, made a fabulous omelet to order in the club lounge. The cons: Weak internet service Motion activated HVAC system led to a hot room during our sleep Roof leaks made ceiling look like it might cause paint to fall on us. I would stay here again for sure, but hope they see my cons listed above and make the necessary improvements. Club level was worth it for us! read more

This hotel can remain a 4 throughout if staff at front desk will answer chats in a timely manner and not ignore. I'm a Platinum premier elite ambassador member. It's a great place to stay for longer term business trip or spend good time with family. The fact that the rental fee 10 bucks for a compact frig (for entire stay) and 10 bucks for microwave (entire stay) is a bargain. Free coffee every morning right by the elevator, that's a plus for me, too. The staff is amazing and knowledgable (if they don't know the answers, they will get you someone who knows!) and always respond to our needs in time. In my personal opinions, a hotel/building always needs maintenance work (nothing works forever), and a decent staff team who shows care and respect to their guests makes it a cozy, homy place to stay. Another thing I appreciate greatly is that this hotel actually "rewards" guests with a 5-USD coupon on a daily basis (redeemable for food) when you decide to go eco-friendly (reuse your towels and no need to change sheets and pillow cases... Etc). So not only do you feel good about being environmental friendly, you also get financial credits for doing it. This is definitely my to-go hotel whenever I'm in town!! read more

Firstly, I am NOT a picky traveler; just a military dude constantly on the road. This hotel, however, grrrrr. Please note I wouldn't be writing this if my expectations were lower due to price, but I paid 100+ for this....sooooo..... 1. Bar area was too high traffic and poorly located, although the bartender worked hard and was attentive. Poor girl was bouncing all over the place. I did like the 1997 HDTV's on the wall with the cable boxes hanging off them; nice touch there. 2. Room fridge was off. Had to turn it on to put my stuff in it and it took forever to get cold. Guess they didn't want to pay the electric bill. 3. Bed was hard as a rock and leaned to the left like a dude in a 76' Cutlass on 22"s. The mattress was well past its service life. 4. Kids screaming in the hall at 2200 at night.....but that was their parents fault. Little #@$#@ds were in the pool all night and the side effect was noise + water all over the elevator floor. 5. Breakfast; lol. Now I'm not expecting a four-course breakfast, but I was expecting a complimentary continental-style breakfast. No dice; had to pay $5.35 cents for the cold breakfast buffet. Let this sink in, after paying 100+ for a room, I had to PAY for breakfast. 6. Parking lot was far too compressed and tight; not conducive to someone who worries about door dings. Yeah, next time I pass through here, I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

This was such an amazing stay for me! The entire staff consistently was saying hello to me and asking me how I was. For some reason the airline zip tied my luggage but the maintenance was quick to respond. I don't know why, but a clean bathroom always does it for me and this bathroom was the nicest I have ever seen in a hotel. It was so relaxing to rinse off after a long day of travel. The fitness center was also great with cold moist towels available, water and ear phones. I will most certainly be back! read more

Definitely a Sheraton HOTEL. From the check in to the room was what you'd want. Welcoming greeting to a clean and well stocked room. However, the restaurant and especially the bar was subpar. The food service was good and accommodating. The food was average. Their 1/2# burger must be 50/50% - it was a small patty. The Caesar salad was more like a creamy Italian with dry, wilted lettuce. The bar service was ridiculous. If the bartenders at my places provided this type of customer service, they wouldn't be employed tomorrow. Using courteous words mean nothing when you don't make eye contact, give crappy body language and your tone sucks. We all have bad days but this was beyond unacceptable customer service. I shouldn't have to "work" to get your attention when the you have 5-6 people total between the bar and restaurant. So, the pools were clean with plenty of towels and the fitness room's equipment were well maintained and adequate. So, in the morning we were planning in sleeping in a bit after being on the go for two weeks. Not the case since maintenance decided to come replace our phone at 8:30a. No notice, no courtesy call. Just a couple of knocks and then they used their master keycard to enter a known occupied room with a "Do Not Disturb" sign up. Overall, a bad stay at a pretty decent hotel. Sheraton Augusta Hotel My stay was awful. Checked in om Friday night around 10pm so we unpacked and relaxed. Saturday I get up early, eat breakfast down stairs and then went shopping. My kids were sleep at the hotel (resting before competition day) and they get woke up by room service who delivered breakfast to the wrong room. They called me and I immediately called to see why breakfast was delivered to my room. I was first told someone ordered the breakfast from my room. After having to explain it wasn't my room it was discovered it was their error. That charge was NOT taken off immediately I realized at check out on Sunday. When I got back to the hotel my room key didn't work so I had to get it reactivated. Got to the room and my kids said housekeeping has knocked twice waking them up asking if we were staying an extra night (despite the do not disturb sign on door and the fact I booked 2 nights). When I returned another maid knocks so I call the front desk to see what the issue was. I was informed that they were not sure why housekeeping keeps knocking but they shouldn't be and it will be addressed. I leave to take my youngest daughter to competition ( she had to be there early) returned and my key doesn't work again and China is in the shower. Leave for competition get down stairs and forget my shoes and when my daughter tries to get in the room, guess what? KEY DOESN'T WORK! We return from competition later that evening and now I'm pissed because the key doesn't work again. That night (Saturday) the air was acting up, it was either too hot or too cold. Sunday morning I was able to sleep in and noticed all the sunlight coming in. I tried to adjust the curtain but notice something was wrong. Pulled the curtains back and the window frame appears to have a lot if water damage and the curtain was arranged to hide this. At check I asked to speak with a manager and the food and beverage manager was sent to assist me. For my horrible stay I was offered 1,000 points towards a membership at the time I wasn't a part of. Due to the hotel not correcting their error on room service I had to wait about 45 minutes at check out waiting for them to try to correct it. As of this morning I haven't heard anything from the hotel!! I call customer service and made a complaint on Sunday as well. Call customer service back last night and a the rep was nasty and hung up. I called back and was escalated to a manager who didn't say a lot of nice things about the Sheraton Brand, however, apparently there is a new Marriott brand she as excited about the 1,000 points the food and beverage supervisor promised at the hotel has not posted either, had the young lady check. DO NOT STAY AT THIS SHERATON, looks nice on the outside but if the water damage was in my room and caused that much damage, Im positive there are alot of rooms and areas in the hotel that are not in good condition but hidden. Overall a good stay. This hotel will be my first choice when traveling to Augusta in the future. Pros: ~Hotel is fairly new ~Beds were super comfy ~Staff was very friendly and helpful ~Rooms were quiet even when hotel was busy. I've never been in a hotel with such a busy lobby area. ~Hotel is very clean and well maintained ~Free wifi ~Great location with many restaurants and shopping close by ~They allow dogs for a one-time fee of $50. When asked for waste bags, they give me a plastic bone shaped holder that contained the bags. Much appreciated! Cons: ~Rooms were small ~Pool was very small and sits in the parking lot ~No fridge or microwave which is standard in other Sheraton's I've stayed at. I was told there was a one-time $10 charge to have one brought to your room. When you stay for several days it's nice to have a fridge to store drinks, etc. ~Thermostat has motion sensor. If you don't know know how to override it, sleeping at night is miserable because it cuts off when you're not moving around ~They allow dogs, but there is really no where to walk them other than medians in the parking lot ~Our key card was deactivated every day. My husband and I both have physical disabilities, so I had to walk back down to the front desk to get the card reactivated. Young lady at front desk told me she spends most of her shift reactivating cards and they are "very sensitive". I'm not sure what that means, but this was VERY inconvenient/frustrating (especially when your room is a long walk from elevators) and should be corrected. read more
