This particular Hampton Inn stands out from most others for their friendly service, always clean…read morerooms, and fair prices. I've been here a number of times over the years and both Darlene and Kim are incredibly friendly the epitome of southern hospitality. We stay here about once a month and it's our favorite hotel along I-20.

Seems nicer than other in the area, but not worth the price…read more Loved the location and staff seemed super nice at check in. Bed was super comfy and big. Pool area was closed all weekend, even though when booking it said was open and that was a big reason we booked this hotel. There looked like mold on the shower head and on the tub. There was used plastic spoon, fork, and knife in a side table. The vent above the toilet was very dusty, not sure if cleaned. There was a chip in the side table. And the WiFi was where you have to go to a separate page to log in on your phone and you are unable to use any systems you bring in the WiFi. Tried to ask to pay for a soda and front desk said it was for higher members. Tried to use the vending machine instead and it was out of order. The shower bar for the curtain was off a little. Check out was at 12 and they called around 11 and 11:45 to remind you it was at 12. Do not disturb was on door at check out and around 11:30 we had a knock on the door from housekeeping. Felt a big pushy to leave before check out time. Breakfast was not mine or my husbands favorite. We ended up not eating much and going somewhere else to eat. They didn't refill the milk the first day when we came down and the second day the milk was a little warm. Ac in the room did not go down to the temp it said and no matter how many times I pressed it sometimes it would not go up or down in temperature setting. Edit to add photos

My stay was NOT worth the money I paid. The beds felt well broken in by thousands of people. When…read moresitting on the bed, it just sunk... I refused to sit on the sofa because was stained with God knows what. The bathroom door was scratched up and the grouting was dirty in spots. I'm giving a third star only because they had robust complimentary breakfast offerings: homestyle biscuits, sausage gravy, bacon just to name a few of my favorites. In addition, the breakfast staff was welcoming, set up everything nicely and kept the tables clean for guests.

A man walked past her with a yogurt in one of his hands ! It seemed to me he was looking to put it back and Anita mentioned if he was looking to put it back but that's not accepted since Covid or something to that matter . He then jumped all over her to say why do you assume I was looking to return it ? I was just looking for a spoon!! He basically attacked her in a sense when she was only doing her job to keep the place clean and following her company rules with Covid I'm sure !! Our stay here was very enjoyable based on staff and clean room !! Would we stay here again ?? Oh yes indeed we would !! Actually I would like to live in this place permanently!! :@)

Recently stayed at the Lookaway Inn during a brief, two night stay in Augusta…read more The Inn itself is historical and beautiful. There's the main house (which I honestly don't know if there are guest rooms in the main house, but I would think so) and then there are additional rooms around the back. I stayed in one of the rooms out back. The room was on the ground floor and was spacious and beautifully appointed in period appropriate furnishings. The bathroom was also spacious and and a big and deep jetted tub, which was an unexpected bonus. The room was clean and quiet and the bed was comfortable. The inn is conveniently located to eateries etc. For my solo traveling girlies: + I don't believe the Inn is staffed all night. I was checking in around 5:30pm and the Innkeeper texted me to let me know they had a meeting and wouldn't be there upon arrival. They sent me instructions for how to do a self-check in and gain access to my room. My car was the only car in the parking lot all night. I didn't see anyone else--I believe I was the only one at the inn that night. + My room was accessed from the outside (ie: my room didn't lead to a hallway--it lead to the outdoors). And, there were two doors to access the room (both leading outside). They both did have deadbolts and one had a door chain at the top, +Parking is on site, well lit, and close to entrances +The inn appears to be in a nice area of town I don't know that I'd stay here solo again but would 100% stay with my partner.

Great Old Historic Southern Mansion with a newer addition in the rear of the main home which is in keeping with an old world style feel. High ceilings, Rooms are like a very nice guest room in a good friend's or family's home. Very cozy, nice size room, easy access to main floor rooms from the parking lot. There is a set of stairs (no elevator) to the 2nd floor. Nice courtyard off main floor rooms to sit and relax. Bathrooms have soft, black makeup remover washcloth for us women and makeup remover towelettes plus all needed shower amenities. TV and lights turned on, water bottles included. Just like coming home, much nicer than a hotel. John and Mary are great hosts and very accomodating to our schedule. One of the BEST parts is the awesome included breakfast, made to order eggs, sausage, etc. fresh various bread types, fresh fruits, all set in their main hotel formal dining room with china plates and silverware. Don't worry dress is casual in this room :) The price is AWESOME for all that is included. You cannot beat it. Easy access to expressways. Could not ask for more. We will definately return when we head back down south toward the beach area. We stayed at Lookaway Inn coming and going from our trip to Hilton Head. A nice halfway point for us to relax. They have also built a very nice event venue building on the property. There was a wedding right before we arrived and more wedding events planned.

My wife was staying at this hotel alone, and shortly after checking in, she had a very frightening…read moreexperience that caused her to feel completely unsafe. The same employee who checked her in and personally handed her the room key later went to her room and began banging aggressively on the door. At the time, my wife was in the shower. She called out through the door that she was in the shower and could not open it. Despite this, the employee--James--continued to bang on the door and demanded that she open it to identify herself and provide her ID. This made no sense, as he already knew who she was and had just checked her in moments earlier. He persisted multiple times, insisting she open the door. This behavior terrified my wife. She felt unsafe, vulnerable, and unsure of what to do, especially as a woman alone in the room. I was on the phone with her during the incident and heard everything unfold in real time. Because of how unsafe she felt, my wife made the decision to leave the hotel and check out immediately. No guest--especially a woman staying alone--should ever be made to feel frightened or pressured like this by hotel staff. This experience was extremely disappointing, and I will be contacting corporate to report this incident. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable, and no one should ever be made to feel this way while staying at a hotel.
