She pulled my pizza out of the warmer and handed it to me. I had been sitting there waiting, in an almost empty restaurant and she had walked past me multiple times. We showed up for the pizza buffet, which was quite tasty. The thing about the buffet is that it is self-serve, meaning I do not have a waitress. When I payed, I was asked about a tip being added to my bill. As I have no idea what the service will be like BEFORE my experience, I choose to leave cash on the table when I tip in these situations. HOWEVER, in this case I left NONE. When the person taking my money for the buffet saw that I placed no tip on my card, I got a "tsk" and an eyeroll. Y'all....tips are a reward for good service, not an expectation. Certainly never give a customer guff over a tip BEFORE the meal. I remember years ago when DDs arrived in DFW. The Honey Wheat crust was a thing of beautiful deliciousness. That time is gone. Long gone. On an evening in Midland, TX, I reminisced on earlier times and decided to make the one meal that I eat a day, a pizza from DDs. I chose wrong. The crust was bland and dry and the canned pineapple was a disgrace to canned pineapple, no real need to get into the rest of the pizza, it wasn't good. Meanwhile, I glance into the two giant windows of the kitchen and what do I see? Staff members throwing dough at one another. Yes, an impromptu food fight in the kitchen. Ordered $150 worth of food through GRUB HUB. Did not receive a large specialty pizza or pizza rolls. When I called the manager at DD's he said there was nothing he could do because I ordered through grub hub and that they had no idea what my order was , I made it literally 45 minutes prior. He said for all they knew the driver stole it and I had to call grub hub . He did not offer to help at all and even insinuated it was the fault of the driver which was very unprofessional of him to do , we have had this GH driver several times and he is always fast and the food is always in tact . This is our first and last time with Dave's and the food we received was mediocre at best . read more

MOST of the time we get really good pizzas from Double Daves in Midland and last week we got a very good pizza! However; today I ordered our normal "The Works" and it showed up to the house and was def not the works but instead, a meat eaters pizza. A few olives is what the veggies consisted of so I called. I was told by the man that answered (I believe he said his name was Eddie), that he made that pizza himself and it was a works pizza. I took a pic and it was not but he was going to argue with me so I said ok fine. Pizza was very over cooked as well. I'm sadly having to update my review, it was definitely one of our go-to places in town but I have recently ordered and none of the staff (front or back) were wearing masks. People in the back cutting and boxing food with NO MASK OR GLOVES Absolutely unacceptable these days. We will not be ordering again any time soon. Ordered a Pizza online through their website and was delivered the wrong pizza. When I called them about the pizza they would not refund my money to my card and offered me store credit instead. I will not do business with them again if this is how they treat customers. Don't do business with this location. Edit - When I called about the store credit they offered, I was told it would be 15 - 20 minutes for Pizza Rolls. An hour later, nothing has arrived. My husband and I were passing through Midland on a motorcycle trip. We stayed at a nearby hotel and wanted dinner at a place we could walk to from the hotel. We ordered a classic veggie pizza with traditional crust. You order at a counter but they bring your pizza and drinks to the table. The pizza was served quickly. The crust was crispy and the toppings were crispy. We washed it down with a small pitcher of local beer. read more

My wife and I go here on Wednesday nights to take advantage of the pizza and salad bar buffet. Food is pretty good and the staff keep a regular rotation of a different variety of pizzas to choose from. Plus, $1 drafts on Wednesday nights can't be beat. read more

New favorite pizza spot in town. Never had an issue with service or the food. Every once in awhile I get the lunch buffet. Can't go wrong with pizza, dessert and salad. Looked around and everyone was eating the lunch buffet. I had a gift card to use so I wanted to sit down and order different items. I wanted to try the chicken pesto sandwich, but they were out of Pesto. We ordered a large works pizza, small cheese pizza, 7 hot wings, and a phlily cheese steak sandwich. Didn't have a lot of sauce, the slices didn't hold up under their own weight, and the flavor was pretty much indistinguishable from many chain pizza places. We waited for 2 hours for a new girl to come and say they lost the ticket and she was sorry. She then said they lost the order twice. Even though they read him the order. Recently, I was ruminating on that fact that there's no place in Midland to go sit down and have pizza and a few beers. Then I discovered Double Daves. The pizza pretty decent, not the best I've had but probably the best since moving to West Texas, but it's the fantastic beer selection that usually draws us here. Great microbrews from around the country in both bottles and on tap. You can get a bucket of bottles or a pitcher and hang out. There's plenty of TVs if you want to watch a game and it's not usually too busy. You do have to deal with families with kids who run around a lot, but it's pretty tolerable. The pepperoni cheese roll things are tasty and the "deep" dish pizza is better than the hand tossed. Check the website for daily specials and you can end up with a $8 large made to order. Midland is not a town known for its restaurant scene. Its especially not known for good pizza. After suffering through many bad pizzas in Midland, we stumbled upon Double Daves. This is probably the best pizza you're going to find in Midland. They offer thin, hand-tossed and deep dish crusts. I usually get the hand-tossed and ask them to cook it a little longer to get it crispy. Check out their website for daily specials. Now, I've had better pizza in my life, and I've been to better places. But, this Double Dave's gets 5 stars for the whole experience. I just moved in around the corner, and went to pick up a pizza. While I was waiting on the pizza, I decided to have a look at the beers. The guy there said I could have one, free of charge, to try if I'd like. Well, thank you sir. Midland is an oil town, and in the middle of an oil boom. The good workers are employed by the oil companies. That said, the service was less than impressive. An hour before closing and it's obvious we are interrupting their clean up. Cashier was stacking chairs, sweeping the floor and didn't bother to remove his earbuds when taking our food order. Rock music got cranked up more than you would expect when you walked in with your kids. I've never been to a Double Daves Pizza. The food itself was decent and the shopping-center pizzeria is clean enough. Are you looking for lunch with your oilfield buddies? This is the right place for you guys.
