I have not toured the entire range so I can only speak for the area I have visited. I used Bay #1 both times I went. The range is setback off of the road. It is however, easy to find. There are clean restrooms available as well. There are membership opportunities, if interested.

I've shot in various bays on the backside of the property. I've always felt as safe as a person can feel at a gun range, and I appreciate how well kept the grounds are. I think an outside range feels safer than an indoor range in general. Also, having a variety of set ups available for shooting is fantastic. As long as you adhere to the rules, you can set up almost any course of fire you want. I've always had a positive shooting experience at South River but I wouldn't become a member for many reasons. It's really far from my house. Also, I'm not sure how comfortable they are with Black people. I've visited many times since that first time and sometimes it's uncomfortable the way they watch us. We questioned the man about that and he comes up with the stupid response, didn't want to make such a big deal of it so we walked out. A few weeks later we come back and now they said we couldn't shoot cause we weren't 21, how is it that I can get my AR mailed to them and pick it up but I can't shoot. If you're not WHITE then stay out of the store you'll get ugly looks from all those fata$$ employees.

This range used to have a Groupon deal that they don't accept anymore, and it has been an even better place to shoot since they stopped doing that :) Staff is friendly and professional. Something that's different here is that the other shooters here are also always really nice. Whether it's cops in uniform with their service weapons or groups 20-somethings with a bunch of guns they brought in a dirty pillow case, everyone always seems cool. This is especially helpful for making my teenager feel more relaxed/comfortable.

If you're a first time shooter, and the instructor isn't there, they'll show you how to use the weapon. I say one guy was that helpful bc he started about how they charge for that. It's been a few years since I went so I was asking for reminders. Then the other guy I talked to on the phone stepped in and helped us and told the other guy he said he'd help us. If you are near here, they will most likely overcharge you it's only $10 to rent a gun though so I guess that's pretty good. Three people , one gun rented (we brought ours) and only $22 each for 9mm ammo and .40 was more. I really don't know how the total was $160 though ! We are definitely never going back. Too pricey ! And they have small selection of guns to RENT. Price has gone up significantly if you're out of town or on a fun date and don't regularly shoot DONT recommend it. Overall nice set up friendly community just not friendly to your wallet , guess I'll make the extra 30 minute drive to Buford or lilburn !
