The Noms: Uni $68…read more Chu Toro Sashimi $38.25 Salmon Sashimi $24 Nothing hits quite like good-quality seafood. We were craving some sashimi and uni and knew that this was the spot to hit up. You can order party platters here too, but I decided to just buy the fish and prep it at home. The staff also provided a bag of ice to keep everything chilled, which was so clutch. There was no fishy smell from the salmon and Chu-toro. Each bite was fatty, had great chew, and was such a satisfying bite each time. I made some sushi rice myself to make gunkan maki with the uni and it was the highlight bite of each round. Considering just one uni gunkan maki is ~$20 for one, we definitely got our money's worth having it freshly assembled at the table. Honestly one of the best meals the husband and I have shared in a minute!

Tip: Sign up for Edo Cash. You can earn cash towards discounted meals…read more After work on Wednesday, I had picked up an order at TSC, Canada's shopping channel. I was ready for an early dinner. I found out that Heartland Centre has an Edo Japan. I love this franchise. It's Canadian and I like the food offerings. It took me nine minutes to drive over to this eatery. It's across from Best Buy and JYSK. Skechers is nearby. What I like about this location is that it's sandwiched between Starbucks on the left and Copper Branch on the right. I love all three businesses. I was pleased. I had no problem finding a parking spot. I backed into an available one and walked over. This eatery is large and clean. A male staffer was taking a break and chowing down. There was one customer waiting for his order. His order was ready. As he went to fetch it from the counter, it allowed me to look at the chicken ramen deal. The ramen has tonkotsu broth and it comes with a fountain drink. Sold! I got a nice, friendly woman who took my order. I went with the chicken ramen soup combo. I had my Edo rewards barcode scanned. I earn points that convert to dollars that you can use towards the cost of a future meal. Sweet! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I got a cup for my drink. She gave me my order number and said that it would be called out. I used the fountain drink machine. I filled my cup with ice and then Diet Coke. I put a lid on it and fetched a straw. My drink tasted crisp and great. I refilled my cup before I left. I sat closest to the window. The male staffer was where I would have liked to have sat down, because it was a two-seater table and I'd be closer to the machine. I got another two-seater table closer to the window. The nice female staffer came over with my ramen. It was a nice service touch. I appreciated the gesture. She said that she was happy to do it. So great! It's one reason why this place gets a perfect review. The service was stellar. The chicken ramen was excellent. Sure, it's fast food. It was good. The chicken was tender. I loved the veggies. It had corn, which was awesome! The ramen was thicker than I had imagined it to be. It was yummy. I liked the broth. It probably had more pepper than I would have liked. However, it was delicious. It wasn't salty. The pork flavour was mild, but good. I drank it all up. I put away my tray and disposed of everything. It was easy throwing away each item, as the garbage area listed which items go where. I used the washroom before I left. There were two single stalls. One had a large button to open the door for accessibility. I used the one without it. The stall was clean. I also liked the hand drier that allowed me to put my drink on top of it. I enjoyed dining here. The food and drink were awesome. Staff were friendly and excellent. I'd return again when I'm in the area. (17)

They serve consistently good quality home cooked Korean meals. Last time I went in, I noticed the restaurant was renovated and offers nice in restaurant seating. Meals are served hot and will not disappoint!

It comes with rice, salad and chicken with terriyaki sauce on a bed of thin udon noodles. It was delicious! The salad had a nice light ginger sauce that was very pleasant. I wish there was more. Next time I might ask for 2 salads and no rice. The main dish was flavourful, the meat was well done and the noodles were el dente too! Next time I would get spicy instead of medium. When I went there at 2pm they had take out only. So be aware of that. Yes they do serve beer too at $4.5 for a bottle of domestic and $5.5 for a bottle of Japanese beer.

At first glance you'd guess this is a quickie fast food sushi stand. But you would be wrong, very wrong. I was drinking in every morsel of my Basic sushi order with absolute pleasure. And at a fast food sushi price of only $16+ for my set which included a deep and rich miso that impressed me a lot! Before adding any condiments I tasted each sushi and the flavour came out as fresh and flavourful. A real delight on the taste buds. Look at my close up picture and check out the delicate onions topping. That's the kind of detail usually you pay a premium for at a restaurant yet here it's part of the everyday deal. Highly recommended!!

I did like how they placed the flower right in the center, which made it look nice at first glance, but the overall quality was a bit questionable once you got into it. The freshness of the sushi was not really there. Tuna looked discolored, and the rolls felt pretty loosely wrapped, almost like whoever made them was ready to call it a day. It just did not feel like much care was put into it. If I could turn back time, I probably would have just cooked something simple at home instead. It was not the worst experience ever, but definitely not the meal I was hoping for either.

I…read morehad the Sashimi and Torched Sushi Combo, which consisted of salmon, tuna, and surf clam sashimi (hokkigai), and 3 types of torched sushi (salmon, squid, and scallops). The torched sushi were REALLY good - very flavourful with just the right amount of rice. In addition to the combo, I ordered the Green Salad (with dressing on the side), which came as a medium-sized bowl of fresh leafy greens and cucumber. Unagi Don was good too. It came with diced up tamago (eggs) beneath the unagi. Salmon Bento Box looked terrible (glad it wasn't my order). The salmon looked fried, oily, and covered with a very thick layer of teriyaki sauce (bound to be sweet). It came with a few pieces of deep-fried gyoza and salmon hand roll, where you get to assemble it yourself with a wide sheet of dried seaweed. The hand roll was probably the only good thing in that bento box. There was no salad or veggie whatsover (which is typically part of most bento boxes at other places). Every main item order came with miso soup, which contained a bit of seaweed and tofu. The interior of the restaurant wasn't that big, but it was nice and cozy. Capacity was about half full at mid-day, but we were able to snag a table for four without any wait time. Service was prompt and efficient.

I recently had dinner with a friend at their Ajax location and we may have over-indulged, but it was hard to resist all the goodness featured on their menu. As we dined, their robot passed our table several times, delivering dishes to other tables, including things we could/should have ordered. It all looked so good! Our over-indulgence included too many dishes to mention but they included sushi, sashimi, udon, tempura, maki, dim sum, and much more. Of course, we had to have some desserts - fried bananas, puddings, ice cream, and more! We were so stuffed, and happy. It was an excellent meal, with delicious food, and excellent service!

This past Monday evening, I broke out of the house to have a dinner feast with a friend. We ordered a lot off the menu, guilty of eating with our eyes. I used to drop by this eatery maybe fifteen years ago fairly often. It was nice to return. I had no problem finding a parking spot fairly close to the main entrance. I backed into a spot and walked into the restaurant. We got these drinks: - Sapporo draft 20 oz - Diet Coke Refills on pop are free. I certainly took advantage of it! So refreshing. It had a bit of heat and I dipped everything in that amazing coconut curry. - Any protein on a skewer will not disappoint. - Chicken and mushrooms was a comforting dish. - The two hand rolls were excellent! There was only one dish that wasn't great. It was the beef steak that was more on the chewy side. There's something for everyone at this eatery. I thought that I couldn't shovel any dessert after our feast. I saw the all-you-can-eat ice cream bar and my stomach ignored now full it felt. I'd return for the desserts alone. We enjoyed these desserts: - Fried bananas (2 x 2 pcs) - Ice cream (orange, cotton candy, cookies and cream) - Tiramisu cake - Mini macaroon - Coconut pudding - Mango pudding - Creamsicle pudding The ice cream bar is the perfect end to your meal. My friend said to put the fried bananas in with the ice cream, which tastes like a banana split. He was right! This place has a couple of sushi robots. One had a cat face, which brought a birthday dessert to someone celebrating that evening. The other one was shorter and didn't have any face on it. I used the washroom before I left. The circular mirror with flowers on the counter were nice touches. I had a great time. It was nice returning for a fabulous dinner with great company. (150)
