    Double Eagle Margarita
    Erin S.

Always stellar!!!! Double Eagle has a bit of everything- great drinks, an amazing menu, superb history, and fun stories of the supernatural. Make sure to have a cocktail in the bar area- the Double Eagle Margarita is award winning as it should be! The history of the bar area is fascinating- ask the bartender and they'll tell you a tale. We learn something new every visit. Make reservations and you can be sat in one of several rooms- the haunted Carlotta room, the Gadsden Purchase room, or the Maximillian room. Each room has its own special draw with spooky tales or significant historical events like the signing of the Gadsden purchase. Fun!! Upon ordering, note that their steak is exceptional in any form. I've gone with the beef tornadoes (medallions) and the Chicken Mesilla with a side of the lobster Mac and cheese- split among three of us and it was the perfect portion. We ended the evening with a slice of the Mile High Cheesecake with chocolate. Service is always great and timed perfectly! The prices are very reasonable considering this is a place of historic significance! Double Eagle is so good every single time.

Going to the Double Eagle is like stepping back into time. This elegant space with multiple chandeliers and where the Gadsden Purchase was signed seems out of place in the plaza. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation in the private Carlota Salon. A room where it is said the ghosts of two lovers still remain. We started with their award winning margaritas from the Imperial Bar. Our waitress was super attentive and the courses were well-timed. The red chile escargot was cooked well and was a nice twist on a traditional dish. Three in our group split the steak flight - 3 cuts of beef at a total of 58 ounces of meat (still way too much for three to share) The portions were cut and served table side. Some pieces were a little rare for my liking. A memorable dish was the steak complement of lobster mac & cheese. Perfectly cooked lobster in a creamy sauce with green chile.

Sat down as a party of 4. The atmosphere was very nice. Bread and butter was good. Ordered crab stuffed mushrooms and Calamari. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious. The calamari was overcooked. Ordered fish and steaks for dinner. The Branzino fish tasted very fishy and came with a very small amount of truffle fries. The food arrived Luke warm and the server did not provide steak knives beforehand. Had to find someone to provide steak knives. One person did not like the smokey filet minion steak taste . The lobster tail was very good. Another person did not like the wagyu steak. The sirloin and scallops was very good. The wine selection was great and reasonably priced. The creme brûlée was delicious. Cost of dinner was too high for the overall mediocre food quality and service.

Tuesday special. The food was great and the Margherita had two pretty pieces of turquoise for us.

The place was super pretty but the food was not worth the money. We tried the dried out steak and it was really not what we expected.

We went in at peak dinnertime but were seated right away. It looked like everyone else waiting had big groups of people but it was just two of us so we were seated near the bar. We started with the cactus blossom and it was really good. I haven't had one of these in years (maybe the last time was at a Chili's, but I can't remember). I ordered the blue lemonade and it was mildly sweet but it didn't have any flavor. I ordered the Roadkill for my appetizer. It was ground sirloin with mushrooms, grilled onions, and jack cheese on top. It was pretty good. My sides were the steak fries and the corn. My companion ordered the prime rib. We weren't sure it was available tonight as the waitress said they usually don't serve it on Sundays but for some reason it was on the menu tonight. My companion had a side salad and the chili as well. Everything was good. We had more than enough bread rolls because the staff kept bringing them out to us. The bread was good but by the time we got our entrees we were already stuffed. I couldn't finish my fries and I didn't even touch the corn so I took everything home in a to-go box. The bill was a little over $60 and for two people that's a pretty good deal for the quality and the amount of food we received. We had a good experience and I'd visit again sometime but based on other reviews it looks like everything is hit or miss. We were fortunate to be here on a good night.

She started berating customers to ... a customer. She kept talking down on how her customers don't tip , and if someone goes out to eat they better tip 20 percent or not go out at all. And how she has to tip out to her dishwashers or bar and she needs to be paid. This went on for like 4-5 minutes and really took away from us just wanting to relax. I let the manager know before leaving.

"Salud to Salud!"…read more Tucked away in the heart of Las Cruces, Salud is the kind of spot that makes you instantly relax the moment you walk in -- jazzy tunes playing softly, a laid-back vibe, and plenty of seating options whether you want bar energy, cozy indoor tables, or fresh-air patio feels. The menu is surprisingly creative with tons of vegan and vegetarian choices (and they'll happily modify just about anything). I decided to branch out and try their vegan tamale, and wow -- easily one of the most unique takes I've had! It's served wet style with a rich sauce poured over the top, and it totally worked. Pair that with a glass of their perfectly brewed iced tea and you've got yourself a solid meal. The service was spot-on from start to finish -- several friendly faces checked on our table throughout, which always makes a difference. And bonus points for the little gift shop attached to the restaurant -- it's such a charming touch. Salud really nails that small-town comfort with big flavor and genuine hospitality.

He has beaten stage four cancer three separate times. Needless to say, his career military background and having just retired in October 2025 served him well. He has faced every diagnosis head-on like the true American soldier he is. During one of our quiet conversations, he shared something that clearly weighed on him. He was heartbroken that he never got the chance to take his wife out for their 55th wedding anniversary in December because he was in the hospital. The next day, I asked him a simple question. If you could pick one restaurant within a 100-mile radius, just one, where would you want to go once you had your strength back? Without hesitation, he said La Posta. Over the next few weeks, a lot changed. He was released from the hospital. He slowly began to regain his strength. First the cane went away, then short walks turned into longer ones, and eventually he was even driving himself from LC to EPT for doctor's appointments. When I finally asked if he felt strong enough to go to that meal we had talked about, he lit up. He started telling me stories. How his father used to bring him to La Posta. How it had remained top notch throughout the years. He went into detail about every menu item he loved. But the one thing he really wanted me to understand was the ambiance. You will get it when you are there, he told me. I called to see if they took reservations. We were not even sure they did. A young woman named Priscilla answered the phone. I explained the situation. My uncle was finally strong enough to return to his favorite restaurant, one that held a lifetime of memories, and he had missed celebrating his 55th wedding anniversary. I told her I wanted to surprise them and make the night unforgettable. I even mentioned I was planning to have flowers delivered. Priscilla did not hesitate. She immediately connected me with her manager, Teresa. I asked if we could have a larger table than one meant for three people because my uncle wanted to order everything. Honestly, I just wanted him to eat, to enjoy himself, to feel normal again. Teresa agreed without question. Then something unexpected happened. Teresa explained that Priscilla was a single mom of two who had recently started a floral business on the side and truly wanted to help make this night special. She asked if it would be okay to involve her. Of course, I said yes. I was transferred back to Priscilla and told her to go big. No expense spared. I gave her full creative freedom and an unlimited budget. Unbeknownst to me, Priscilla partnered with a friend who specialized in balloon arrangements. What she created was nothing short of breathtaking. Place cards. Multiple floral centerpieces. An ornate floral display. A large professional sign welcoming my aunt and uncle to the restaurant. She handled everything with grace, professionalism, and kindness, even as our party grew from three people to thirteen. And then the story took a turn. The day before the dinner, my uncle was rushed into emergency surgery. Suddenly, everything was uncertain. Half the family canceled to stay at the hospital. We kept Priscilla updated as events unfolded. Not once did she complain. Not once did she lose her composure. She adapted to every change with pure professionalism and empathy. She even adjusted the floral arrangements when we decided to bring flowers and food to the hospital instead. That is when I learned that the owners of La Posta had been informed of the situation. The male manager on duty, and I regret not remembering his name, passed along a message from them expressing their deepest condolences and gratitude. He also shared that they wished they could have been there to meet my uncle. There really are still good people in this world. After her shift ended at 4 p.m., Priscilla went to pick up her kids and then came back to the restaurant just to meet me. She walked me through everything she had created and explained the work behind it. When I asked how much I owed her, she paused and said she wanted to bless my family and could not accept payment. I was overwhelmed. Her work would have easily cost four to five hundred dollars. I insisted on tipping her at the very least, and she reluctantly agreed. The food that night was incredible. We had a wonderful server, and the food was amazing. We ordered extra meals to go so my cousins could bring my uncle his favorite dishes back to the hospital. It was a small way to lift his spirits during one of the darkest moments our family has faced. My uncle asked me to thank you for the food. And I want to thank everyone at La Posta for the hospitality, the compassion, and the humanity. When my uncle regains his strength and comes home again, we will return with his wife so he can finally give her the 55th wedding anniversary dinner they both deserve.
